At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the LG G6's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Does fairly well in low light. There is some grain, but depending on how zoomed in you are, it's not incredibly noticeable. Likely down to ISO settings.
Handles objects in low light reasonably well though it can be a bit noisy from the ISO setting. People, however, don't look right in low light (overprocessing of their skin makes them look like an oil painting), and it doesn't handle motion in low light well at all. I have much better results using manual mode in low light, however, so I believe this is a software issue with the auto mode. If anyone else is having better experience than I am with low light people and movement, I'd love to hear what you're doing differently.

this is what it looks like zoomed in. It's ****. 1/5
yes but what is your iso? were you using digital zoom? etc
see pic below 50% crop at iso 2700, its an excellent result from any phone cam at such a high iso.

I'm thinking about buying the maxx version of the razr. But some reviews said, that it has really poor picture quality when taking pictures. So you all own a razr. Is this really the case? Maybe you could post some pictures you have taken with the razr? Is this a hardware problem or will the phone get camera updates to improve the picture quality?

My friends g35 I just took to another buddy to tint all the windows. I rather think the RAZR has a very nice camera. This pic wasn't taken w best lighting in mind. Maybe this helps you but my maxx takes very nice photos
A quick photo I snapped of a fire alarm panel. Terrible lighting.
The picture quality is good. It just doesn't look as vibrant on the phone itself.
On my RAZR in display settings I have the checkbox for save battery dying dimming screen. Puts a light yellowish hue on the screen. Makes it look duller. Maybe you saw a phone w a similar box checked. I dunno. Just trying to be helpful. The camera on the RAZR has the f/2.4 aperture and for me it really shines
Ohh thanks guys that helped me a lot. Especially the picture of the alarm panel seems really nice to me I haven't seen the phone in reality yet. But the battery, oled display, processor etc seem to be really nice, just what I am looking for. I read some reviews of the phone, but they all said, that the camera is the only negative thing about the razr. And after my xperia play, I would like to have a phone, that can shoot quite sharp pictures
Edit: would be nice, if you could post some more pictures, especially with bad lighting etc

Hey, I've been getting this problem for a while now.
Decided it was time to do something about it. In advance: sorry about the legs.

Notice the very obvious weird rainbow lines.
Pretty sure it only happens in my room. It may be my fluorescent lightning.. It may be a lot of things.
I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this ever.

i think most cameras have the fluorecent lighting thing, its evident when you point toward old lamp tvs with cameras

Ah ok then, fair enough.
Had a feeling it was something like that, from memory Fluorescent lighting strobes or flickers at a very low speed compared to regular light bulbs. While great for saving power (they run 16 hours a day) it clearly sucks heavily for cameras.
Anyway, thanks for confirming that for me.
Do you know? The light in your home and at the office can make a difference to the way you feel and can even affect your health.
'Light is critical for our health and wellbeing. Ensuring that we receive adequate light levels at the appropriate time of day benefits our alertness, mood, productivity, sleep patterns and many aspects of our physiology,' says Dr Victoria Revell, a chronobiologist at the University of Surrey.

Are you using the wide angle camera, the front camera or the main camera?? The main camera is 16MP and the other 2 are only 8MP.
It does look like you are using the wide angle camera here so the image wont be as good
Hi fellow Austrian
As the G5's cameras support the Camera2 API, you might wanna try manual mode. Using it, you are able to manually set ISO, shutter speed, white balancing and focus, while the last two parameters still contain an "AUTO" function. You can turn it on in the overflow menu.
Here are some helpful pages that helped me
- ISO/shutter speed
- ISO/shutter speed cheat sheet
-White balance

That's the worst contrast I've seen in a while. My first thought was that maybe the lens is dirty?
@Seansmit17 yes im using wide angel but if i dont use it still pictures looks like 8 bit. i will post more pics tomorrow.
@Firefrost Servus i will try it thanks but i want to use simple mode.
@ torax242 no its not.
Still same, is this looks like a hardware problem? Should i send it back? There is no settings or something.
sent back to amazon.... end
Is there any way to disable the optical image stabilization on an Android device? Preferably S9 as that's what I'm using, not sure if this is a thing that can be done on rooted Android devices?
I'm using it with a full frame fisheye lens as an action cam (like GoPro) with a chest harness and so far it works great, I think the quality is a lot better than GoPro (especially at night) and the lens is wider too, but there's one kind of big problem because it is using OIS and it was not designed for bigger shakes it actually ruins the image for a split second, it seems the OIS shifts the lens out of focus whenever the phone is shaked a bit hard - you can test this with your phone by shaking it forward-up-down and then playing the video back frame by frame, it is very noticeable anyway.
So what I was hoping is that by disabling the OIS (it seems to be controlled electronically and tries to compensate for the shake) it could hopefully maybe fix this, although I'm not very optimistic by this, there are moving parts in the hardware but what I noticed is that if I shake the phone without the camera app open, the camera makes more noise/moves more versus when the camera app is open, so maybe just maybe there is a way to mod the electronic part to hold it into place all the time?
Here is a gif of an example of what happens when you shake the phone, please note that this is not motion blur, but it is actually out of focus when that happens, it is exactly the same result whether I use it in very bright lightning conditions or low.

I was really happy with the results with this phone and the fact that you can edit and share content right away, would be great to solve this problem! By the way I'm using it with a Blackeye Pro Fisheye G4 lens if anyone is curious.
