USB C and android auto - Elephone P9000 Questions & Answers

I bought a new kia optima sports wagon which was working fine with a Samsung note 3 on lollipop. I have since got an elephone p9000 which runs marshmallow out of the box, since then I am getting problems with android auto connectivity, mostly android auto will connect but it will often just bomb out and display communication error 6 on the phones screen, mainly when I try and play media using google music, also WhatsApp is not sending messages on,cwhen I press the voice command on steering wheel I can say WhatsApp and it will ask who I want to chat with, it then let's me say who I want to chat with and asks for the message which it then plays back to me and asks if I want to send it, I reply send and it says it is done but it doesn't actually get sent.
Not sure where the prpblem might lay. The new usb C type cable (tried a different one), lateste android mm update has screwed something, maybe the android auto on car infotainment system isnt compatible with update.
Any one else experiencing issues ?

[Q] Galaxy dash cam

Hi hope someone can help here.
Im in a quandary wether to just get a normal car dash cam or use a 2nd hand android cheap phone as one.
I was wondering if there was any hacked firmware that converts a android mobile into just a camcorder with no other phone features like calling or receiving or text etc etc?
I know theres apps for dash cams but just a thought.
Has this been thought of or am I the first one to think of it.
Hope you can help
When I got my new phone I wiped the old one and installed a dashcam/blackbox program, Google navigation and a music player on it.
With no sim card in this "car phone" I don't get calls or text messages.
I set up my new phone to serve as a wifi hotspot so the "car phone" can connect for Google navigation. With dashcam running in the background and Google search and now set to accept OK Google on any screen I have music and navigation available hands free as well as the dashcam.
An NFC tag in the car turns my primary phones wifi hotspot on when I get in.

[Q] Android built-in a old car

Hello! First sorry for my poor language.
Polish android forums can tell me only stupid ideas, these people can't use brains.
I want to open discussion about mounting smartphone with Android to car. Important things: considered connect charger(i have car electric items and idea how to connect and hide wiring), make car recorder(AutoGuard app), make audio source(bluetooth connected for car radio - without wiring), sometimes use Torque app(i have OBD 2 mini ELM adapter).
I have some old phone - Samsung SM-G350. Car is passat b5, but its not important.
My samsung is rooted, have cyanogenmod 11 on android 4.4.4. I'm searching ideas for reaction in my telephone when i turn on my engine. For example - if i turn engine on, car charger is working and callphone battery is loading. I want to in this moment run AutoGuard and start recording, or screen is displaying always and is unlocked.
Have some ideas? Maybe change android files? Some scripts? Help me, i need to good advices.
You need the Android Auto for that, old cars don't usually have it.
To have something mounted, your best option is to get an Android Auto receiver, but you'll have to do the research with your car info and stuff like that. You could also just get a simple phone mount for pretty cheap on an online store like Amazon.
With Tasker, possibly, you might be able to use that root capability to its potential by setting up some automation stuff that opens apps once the phone detects power input (once it is plugged in).
Android Auto is a good option, but I don't think that it runs on Android 4.4.4. You'll have to get something newer.
(I also just realized that this is a really old thread that people are responding to now. )

Transferring Phone Calls to Tablet?

So I have a tablet (with data) that I use in my car as a media hub connected via Bluetooth using this device. Now, one of the problems I've run into with this setup is that I can not answer phone calls because my tablet is paired to the bluetooth and my phone isn't. So, I was wondering if there is an app that allows handing off/transferring phone calls from an Android phone to an Android tablet? The only thing I've discovered is that Samsung has this built into their phones/tablets via an called SideSync. For that reason, I've considering switching my phone and tablet to Samsung version, but would really prefer not to do that if I don't have to. I also do not want to get a new number and forward my calls to it when driving.

Android Auto & Mirror Link compatibility

I can't get Android Auto or Mirror Link to work on my Skoda Kodiaq, it's not the car as all other phones work with it. I have tried using the stock cable and other cables, when i connect it, the car recognises something is connected and the phone asks me what to do with the USB connection (charge only, transfer files or photos) and i've tried all of them. The car eventually gives up and says the phone is not compatible, something i used to get with my OnePlus 3t as it didn't support Mirror Link but it would work instantly on Android Auto.
I have read online that there were issues with Android Auto on previous phone models but the manufacturer were looking to get this fixed in this phone. If it was a cheap phone i'd probably just leave it, as i did with Mirror Link on the OnePlus, but for a phone they are pushing at a crazy price and saying is premium, they have work to do. Has anyone figured out any fixes for this, or managed to get it to work on their car?
I've got the same problem with my huawei mate 20 pro and Dynavin 7 ce in Tuareg.
Very annoying thing. Any solution someone?
I have a 4 week old T-Roc and Android Auto works fine on mine, I can't quite remember what options I had to allow on the phone but it didn't work straight out the box but works fine now with Google Maps, Waze and Spotify.
There was a bug with some cars and newer android versions. I have to enable USB debugging on my phone for android auto to work. Can't explain why.
Ive been using it for a few days and have no issues with Google map, listening to music or making calls or sending texts using voice.
Does anyone know how to stop it asking what you want to do everytime you plug in the usb in the car? Very annoying.

Problems when connected to my car stereo

Someone have idea why I can't transfer my phone book from my A3 to car stereo in Bluetooth? The phone is connected and I can receive and make calls, but i can't see phone book, last received calls etc.
Thanks, but doesn't work
I have the same problem explained in another old thread opened from me some years ago: https://forum.xda-developers.com/u/tasker-tips-tricks/disable-enable-sharing-contacts-t3555984 none replied me.
Phonebook works perfect in my old Zopo Speed 7. At this point I think that problem are the new android version, not compatible with my car stereo. My old Zopo was based on Android 5, Samsung A5 is updated to android 7 while Mi A3 is updated to android 9.
Like on Samsung A5 2016 the only way to work phonebook is, when bluetooth is connected, disable and then enable Contact Sharing option because if is enabled and all works, the next time that I'll connect my phone to my car stereo, phonebook will not work again.
So I've thought to tasker... a way to automatically disable and then enable Contact Sharing but I don't know why and if is possible! The last time none replied to my thread.... I hope that someone can help me now
