Hi,
why doenst Google speak to me when i search something? On my other Phones Google speak to me, weather, time etc. but not so on the Note 4 Snapdragon.
I test some MIUI rom, 8.1.15 stable, 7.3.9, 7.3.16 but no google speak.
All settings are the same like my other phones.
The only time i hear google speaking is, when i say "Ok google" or tap the mic and say nothing. After i while, google asked my that she cant understand me.

Hi I'm having a problem with my Google Now. Here's what I'm doing...
I say... "OK GOOGLE" then I say a question.. "how old is Barack Obama?"
Then it answers: "Barack Obama is Fif.........." and then it stops talking. It doesnt finish the whole sentence.
Here are more examples...
My Question: "What's the weather?"
Voice Answer: "it is now 50 de...." voice stops again
Question: "What's the capital of USA?"
Answer: "The capital city of th......" voice stops again
It only talks for about 1 second and then the audio/voice stops immediately. I checked several android forums already and I dont see anyone asking this question before. Please help. Below are my Phone Specifications.
My phone is : Lenovo A516
Processor: Dual Core 1 ghz
RAM: is only 512 MB
Android OS Version is : Jellybean 4.2.2
Language Setting is : Default (English US)
Please ask me if you need more details. Thank you!

Same Problem Here
Have you found a solution to this problem? I am experiencing the same issue and can't seem to find any answers.

Strange, have you tried wiping the data from Google Now? If you don't know how, open your Settings app, then look for App or Applications, you'll probably need to swipe over to "All" (you'll most likely start on "Downloaded"), then find "Google Search", click on it, then click "Clear Data", click "Force Stop" to make sure it's killed, then reopen Google Now and see if it still has the issue.
google search spoken results still cutting off
Tried that didn't work. All other assistant type apparently work fine.
same problem
I also have the same problem. I have a brand new Blu Advance 4.0 with Android 4.2.2. It seems like it actually cuts out one or two seconds before the response is complete, rather than one second after it starts. Ask google "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?". Mine stops during the response at the word "foot". With a shorter response mine stops much sooner. I can't find any solutions.
I have the same problem. Is there any fix ? Android 4.2.2 too.
I'm having the same problem on my LG G2 (D801). Also happens in Google maps navigation. Maybe it's a TTS engine problem?

same problem here, any issue? I have try to change TTS engine but nothing change.
Same problem here. Hope they get this fixed soon.
Ok. Fixed it. Uninstalled updates to google search and went to factory version. Works like a charm now. :good:
BTW it's the August 12th update to Google Search that's causing the problem. I've been able to duplicate the issue on my Samsung Galaxy S4. android 4.4.2. Hope this helps.
restoring google-now voice
I had the same problem as this poster. Sometimes the google voice cut itself off in mid word and a message appeared saying "command cancelled please try again". It even happened when I said "ok google what time is it?" I found something that corrects it. I went into settings:apps:google App and told it to force stop. Then when I invoked "OK GOogle" the voice responded normally. I don't expect this to work permanently. The problem seems to reappear after a while.
This is a motorola MotoG 2nd generation running Lollipop.
Hello,
I'm trying to activate the "ok google" hotword from all screens. When doing it, a screen appears and asks to say "ok google" 3 times so that it can learn my voice. However, it doesn't work. It doesn't hear me no matter how I speak and never managed to pass more than 1 out of the 3 required recordings.
I should note that when I say "ok google" in google now, it works perfectly so this cannot be a problem with the microphone.
Anybody saw something similar?
It only works when google now is open
You can use google now laucher which alows the hotword at any time i think
Also ive had no problems with it aside the way its designed instead of the way it work
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

If you change your language in Google Now to English US, it works.

It is on English US and still doesn't work.
I'm not a native speaker, but normally Google Now has no problem understanding me speaking English.
It is only in this screen that it doesn't respond.
I'm not sure then. If you are rooted, there is an Xposed module which forces this behaviour.

Google help says that "You can use “Ok Google” on any screen if you’re an English speaker in the United States".
Could it be that it doesn't work because I'm not in the US?
Can anybody (on Z2 or not) confirm that it works outside the US?

It works fine on mine. I'm not in the US. I chose English US, selected 'Hotword detection' and it worked.
Having the exact same problem, will not listen to me when it gets to that screen therefore am unable to use Okay Google from any screen. Shame but sure it will be updated. Xperia z2 tablet.

Had a brainwave just after I posted the previous reply, I inserted the headphones that come with the tablet, went to the activation screen said the magic words 3 times and it worked...also tested to see if it activates from any screen and it does! Hope this works for you too.
Friends, Maybe it is not the right place. Please do not kill me
Is there a way to 'teach' Google Assistant to do things?
I mean like getting in to a slow motion stock camera app.
Another thing I saw, Google Assistant can not call people whose name is not in English.
She would ask who I meant, but the next time they asked her she did not remember...
I would be happy if someone could help me.

Hey Guys!
I'm having thia weird problem and I don't think or have found any solution for this trouble. It's been around 6 months that Google has pushed the "Hey Google" toggle for smart phones.
Sadly, I haven't received this yet. I'm still on "Ok Google".
It's pretty weird because I have tried everything. I've set the default language to English US. I've tried being on Beta version of the Google app and as of today I've received new voices from Google which I think is the latest feature.
Can someone please help me with this as it sounds so weird to say "Ok Google" and have all the other latest options.
Pour in your suggestions please.

International versions ship with Google Assistant.
So,set that up & perhaps you can enable the phone to unlock by voice/OK Google.
Lots of good people here who are willing to help, should you need it.
Enjoy the new phone! :good:
thank you. will definitely try this method tonight to see how well it goes.. google play comes stock on it and all apps from the market works without the need for sideload.
So i was able to set the assistant to unlock the screen.. the mandarin word is pronounced pretty close to "soo-soo" when you say it drawn out.. its sufficent for me as i did not want face unlock and to constantly tap to awaken.. the google assistant did not work as you cant move (ollie assistant ) from default.. thank you again greatly..
any way to download global rom to chinese r15?
