Hello,
I am trying to install Remix OS on my old gaming notebook (Dell XPS M1330), I am try a lots of methods but usually a lots of it done without success, but I found 1 method how to install (extract to hdd) after that, I dont saw RemixOS logo, but I only up left corner saw: Error 17, and Remix OS not boot, How can that FIX ?
Error 17 is Grub telling you : you messed-up
probably in menu.lst or grub.cfg
Please tell/give more info
remix 32bit or 64bit? dualboot? what are you using as boot manager? what did you use to edit the bootloader for adding remixos? or post tutorial you used
Can you still boot windows?
Cheers
I am tried both (Remix OS 32/64) but no one works (32/64 tell same error)... No I dont want dualboot, I am only Remix OS on it... I dont edited it (I do not know how),

ive installed remix os and configure it as default os but now im unable to boot windows is there any solution to this withoout having recovery cd or usb plz help

You made it the default os, thats the problem. If you can get an app which can change the boot sequence from remix os, than you can fix it without the recovery disk, otherwise you will need the recovery disk. I am saying all this assuming you have actually installed remix os on your harddisk. If your booting remix os from a usb, remove the usb before booting up your pc
more info would be nice...like how and where you installed remix os.
if on the same hdd but different partition, i m sure you replaced the windows bootloader.
if on another hdd, try going into the boot menu during post and select the different hdd and see.

Already Fixed The Issue With A Old CD Of Windows 7.
I have tried many times with various versions of Remix OS, but I am still not able to get it to install properly on my Windows 10 Intel (Cherry Trail z8700) tablet.
The install process (to the C:} hard drive seems to fun fine (no noticeable problems/errors) during the install process. It also LOOKS like all of the proper files were installed to the hard drive. The problem is that the install process doesn't create a boot entry for RemisOS (in the Windows BCD).
I do have EasyBCD and a couple of other BCD editors. Does anyone know what the BCD entry SHOULD look like for Remix OS? Perhaps I could manually create it?
@mediawiz always add your tablet model please.
Your device has most likely UEFI booting, so using EasyBCD is not going to work for you.
You need EasyUEFI. Install it and show me what boot entries it outputs.
You can also PM me and we can set up Teamviewer to solve this quick

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit
Motherboard: MSI Z97-X-Power AC
BIOS: UEFI
Secure Boot: OFF
Remix OS ISO: Remix_OS_for_PC_Android_M_64bit_B2016101201
Remix OS install tool: Remix_OS_for_PC_Installation_Tool-B2016080802
I am having trouble installing Remix OS on my MSI PC.
Every time I attempt to install Remix OS on my PC using the install tool, it ends with "Installation Failed" error. The install tool seems to successfully copy files to the specified partition. But the problem seems to occur when it attempts to install the bootloader.
I mounted the boot partition & checked it. In all my attempts at running the install tool, it never adds anything to the boot drive.
Please note, I am using a fresh installation of Windows 8.1. There are no security programs installed. Windows Defender is disabled. I have attempted installation using the built-in Administrator account, so there should be no permissions issues.
Can anyone tell me how to manually add the GRUB bootloader manually? I want to achieve what I have with my laptop (GRUB displaying "Windows/Remix OS"...and then Windows Boot Manager loads).

I am also finding the installation failing at the point of installing bootloader. Would appreciate any help you can give.
same for me on my windows qp chinese tablet. Any workaround yet?
I had the same problem. I solved it by doing the following.
First, i tried installing some "Remix OS for PC Hacked Edition", and to my surprise, it worked. The OS boot selection, and the OS both worked well.
Then, I tried installing the original Remix OS again, with the normal method, I selected not to delete my data, and there was no error this time. I'm using it right now
So i tried to dual boot with remix OS on my PC,i am running windows 7.
the dual boot didn't work, whenever i choose Remix Os it started to boot and then crash.
So i decided to remove Remix Os,in my frustration however i just right-clicked the os file in the partition i created and deleted the whole file not using the unistall feature.
Now when i open my pc it asks me whether or not to run Windows 7 or Remix os.
Does someone know a way to remove that, like make my pc realise that Remix os doesn't exist or choose windows 7 by default?
Hello to all! I am new Phoenix OS enthusiast but now have big problem with this operating sistem and I don't know how to solve it. Sorry to I write in this section, I can't post new topics on Phoenix OS section.
I tried Phoenix OS from bootable USB and work fine, except that not have too much memmory for apks. So I try install Phoenix OS on my laptop directly on hard disk, but that didn't work, I can't boot it. So I decide to unninstall it whith uninstaller on Phoenix OS exe but since that I can't boot Phoenix OS from bootable USB!
Before instalation of Phoenix OS on my laptop when I want boot from USB this grub is show to me GNU GRUB with two options: Run Phoenix OS withouth installation and Install Phoenix OS on Harddisk, but after I uninstall Phoenix OS from laptop show me GNU GRUB when I must choose between Phoenix OS and Windows, same that appears when I have installed Phoenix OS in my harddisk. When I choose Windows it normaly boot to Windows, but if I choose Phoenix OS write some tipe of error. I watch couple of tutorials how to remove GRUB from PC but none of them work, I try Hasleo Easy UEFI and disjkpart command in command prompt but nothing works.
Can you please help me?

Really weird. Removing GRUB via Windows command line is really easy. Have achieved this already several times.
Can please some of admins or moderators move this theme to Phoenix OS subforum?
