Hello,
Before flash my x829 with Cuoco92 v69, I've made a full back-up with TWRP.
I've tried to restore this backup but after entering my simcard PIN code, I have a lock screen and neither my code or finger print are recognized.
So, my question is : if I want to do a full back-up now, I suppose that I must disable lock-screen (code, pattern, finger print) before, right ?
not sure but it happened to me too.
fix:
twrp→filemanager
navigate to data/system
remove theese files and reboot:
gatekeeper.password.key
gatekeeper.pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal

Hi all,
In order to fix my no signal issue after rom update though kies i decided to repair efs folder.
I backed up my efs folder using root browser both in zip and as folder.
I deleted efs folder, restarted phone and restored .nv_data.back as nv_data.bin
fixed ownership to 1001,1001 but problem not solved.
infact i now get a pop up screeen on home screen showing sw info and telss front camera, camera N/A, band unknown etc.
how can i revert to previous state.
There are many files that android did not create in efs folder.
If i paste files from my back up their permissions and ownership is changed. and i do not know their orignal ownership.
Try owner - root or radio
Permissions - 644 or 755 (don't remember exactlly)
Read 4
Write 2
eXecute 1
set it by root explorer, terminal emulator or adb
Next time make backup in raw format. kTool from market is usefull to do that. You can also use it to reformat efs partition if it cousing troubles.

After flashing back official LE8 i have got rid of that pop up screen.
But two problems remain, one is no lock screen and other is no power menu.
Also i need the need the permission / ownership for following files
nv_core
nv_data
nv_state
00000000.authtokcont
gyro_cal_data
h2k.da
wv.keys
also if possible is there a way to replace complete folder without the need of setting these permissions
I m Using CM9 on my Neo V (unlocked Bootloader) and it is working fine...
n i want to restore to my old GB ROM which i have back up long back..
when i m trying to restore my GB ROM its saying dat..
"CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.1
Checking MD5 sums..
MD5 mismatch!"
what is this error n how to overcome it... plss help
MD5 sum file is broken. did you made full backup? was it successfully done?
sometimes it occurs due to low storage on sdcard. cwm succeeded to make backup files but was unable to make md5 file due to low memory on sd.
I think that Cwm 6.x.x is not compatible with backups created with cwm 5.x.x. Flash your favourite GB kernel and restore backup.
did you rename folder of that backup?
Most probably a rename of the folder.
The md5 checksum depends on the name of the folder.
Try this

Sounds like a name miss match.
If you renamed your backup there should be no spaces at the name. Use a . - instead of space.
Also look that the *.fat.tar files are present.

try the one by gregbradley provided above..or this..

(the difference is the terminal emulator app)
and this worked perfectly for me
So I just put it in fastboot mode and tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/modified-emmc-file-unlocking-bootloader-t3358486 and got stuck in detecting any device, rebooted and now the device dont recognize my pin or the fingerprint. I dont made any changes
Do you have TWRP installed? if you do, you can delete the .key files from \data\system using the file manager. I usually also delete the locksettings.db, locksettings.db-shm and locksettings.db-wal files as well.
I did a full reset from Google Device Manager, thanks. Kinda new on this whole Redmi thing
I installed the lineage OS rom just to see how well it worked but some important important features I use on a daily basis were broken so I restored to backup I made the day before. The problem is that now my pattern isn't recognized. And before anyone asks, yes it is definitely the right pattern. Even though I mostly use the fingerprint scanner to unlock my phone, I've used this same pattern for the past year or so on my other phone and I checked that I was definitely putting it in right, plus this is the only pattern I've ever used on this phone. Is there any way I can get into my phone without having to factory reset it? I don't have anything hugely important on my phone but I'd rather not have to set it up again.
Reboot your device into TWRP, then go into Advanced > File Manager > /data/system folder and delete all of the following files (if they exist):
Code:
gatekeeper.password.key
gatekeeper.pattern.key
password.key
pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal
Reboot and profit!

Please help! I am a noob here. i was using resurrection remix 5.8.3 then I flashed xiaomi.eu without making a backup. Now when I tried to boot my phone, it ask for the decryption pattern but my pattern is 6x6 and it only shows 3x3. So I went back to twrp and then I made several mistakes in putting the decryption pattern. When I put the correct pattern it doesn't decrypt. Please help I need to recover my files because the data for my research is in my phone

Easy Fix
If you have TWRP or any Custom Recovery Easy Job !
Boot to TWRP
Go to advanced>filemanager to access the files in your phone.
Go to the /data/system folder. Scroll down and find the two files with the .key extension. Delete both of them (by tapping on the file and then tapping the Delete button). Then, delete all the files containing the word
locksettings.
password.key
pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal
Make sure you deleted them ! Reboot with no lock
