First my setup: I've a RN3 SE (Kate) and I installed de developer MIUI, did an unofficial unlock, flashed twrp and installed lineageos (first official version), root package and pico gapps. That's it. I used Titanium backup to restore some of my apps data, but I installed every apk via the play store.
I started to notice that some apps were disappearing after a reboot. Everything I'll lose between 5-10 apps, mostly the apps that were updated very recently. After installing the missing apps back, I didn't loose anything, all settings of the app are intact. I've no idea if this happens because of the Google Backup and Restore function of Android itself, or because that app data never were missing.
I've installed every update of LineageOS, but no luck, every time it'll lose some apps. Even some apps stop working after a reboot until I reinstall them. It's getting annoying, therefore I start this thread.
Anyone faced this problem and has any idea what's happening?
Bump
Try a fresh install
I'll try that in the coming days, but this is already the second clean install i did. Both with this issue.
Use this app and check your phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.vinagre.android.emmc_check&hl=en
If there are errors after a full scan, you have a problem with your flash memory.
Did you wipe and format internal storage through TWRP before installing LOS?
I think i just think that this is the begining symptoms of the emmc_brick bug i recommend u to check for any disk errors.
Thanks for the tips, luckily the test came out just fine ("Congratulations. Test Passed. 159s. 31268536320 bytes (29.1GB) 190.2MB/s"). No emmc errors and I didn't have any problems on 6.0.1, it started on 7.1.1. I think it has to do with the new ART and JIT compilers, as it only happens with apps that got updated recently.
Before installing LOS, I did a wipe of system, cache and data. I don't think I did a complete format of internal storage as well.

Recently I flashed my phone with Cookiesandcream-quincyatt-1012 rom and my phone went all laggy and slow.
restored back to my CM10quincyatt that i had prior to cookiesandcream, and now that was acting all laggy.
I have tried several different roms(slim bean, liquid jb, cm9, cm10, and jelly beer, which seems to be working the best at least) and all of them seem to have the same issue, they act slow as soon as I use the volume rocker, and then my volume delays 10 seconds or so before it actually changes, and there not even sound coming from my phone. and is just laggy and has delays when i touch apps/settings etc.
aswell as soon as i boot up the phone after a flash, i get the gapps welcome setup screen(wifi setup, google account stuff, etc.)
i click "OK" and the button turns blue and will stay blue for 10 seconds before it actually does anything.
I have done factory reset, cache, dalvik cache, internal storage wipe.
Nothing seems to work.
It worked a tiny better after internal storage wipe, but i just need my phone in a useable state right now.
can anyone help? :s

Data.......you likely have either old data that is intended for a different architecture...
, or you are restoring data into the builds by using a restore app like titanium backup.
Several of the roms you mention are very fast and smooth when set up properly, but it is very important to clean the device before a flash, and keep it clean by installing applications from market..
Many users do restore apps via titanium backup and other applications designed to do so, but you must never restore the data associated with the apps from a previous build, unless it is the same build.
Wipe cache
Dalvik cache
data
and system...prior to any new build, and again, do not restore apps that contain data.....g

I have done all of the above many times, and installed new roms, the roms always end up laggy, the improve over time,
but once the phone restarts, it becomes laggy again.
also i have no sound coming from my phone at all.
music wont even play. I press play and it immidiatly pauses. even if i try to press play again.
and i have never used titanium backup, the only time i restore, is using the restore function in TWRP using a backup of a previous rom i had. I never ported any data from any apps using programs like that.
by the way, when i look through my mounts and storage(using CWM), it shows that all my things say "mount /efs" or "mount /data" and so on.
are all of these supposed to say unmount?
EDIT: Solved problem, Unrooted the phone using odin3 v3.04 and stock I717RUXLF4_I717RRWCLF4_I717RUXLF4_HOME.tar.md5 and re-rotting solved the problem.
Data corruption .....
I'm glad you found the cause .....g
than go flash black star, no chance of that problem
Hi!
I was trying to find such information but with no luck.
What is my goal? The most painless migration from Omni to CM11 (or revert).
I'm wondering is it possible to preserve apps and their settings but change the whole ROM or is there any other way to move apps and their settings from one ROM to another (I know about Ti backup and other apps like this but anyone tested this solution?) I don't care much about ROM settings but apps are important for me.
This I9100 is my only phone so I can't stuck with "blank" phone.
Thanks in advance!
Answer: Yes and No
You can use Ti backup, then format sys&data, install CM, then Ti restore.
I've done this before when going from ClearRom to Omni.
HOWEVER, this is still quite annoying since some settings and data may likely not be properly backup/restored.
Question:
How can we install CM11 over on top of Omni, without the extra (and error-prone) steps of backup and restore data?
I was just about to ask the same question, then xda found your post for me.
I have a Note 2 ATT, and recent updates of the Omni became power hungry and eats up battery faster than ever before, plus, each time the Omni updates, I lose Gapp and SU. Often it gives me a hard time to get SU back.
So I want to switch to the newly published CM11.
I've spent the past couple hours doing this.
First I tried just format 'system' then install CM11, it boots, but gives me infinite loop on "cyongen account has stopped".
Then I formatted 'system' and 'data', CM11 boots without error. I restored 'data' from recovery, the error loop is back on.
(devik and cache have been deleted each time)
So... is there any way of doing this w/o needing Ti backup/restore?
Thanks a lot for your answer! I was afraid it's not possible
My only hope is that I don't need ROM settings but only apps so maybe it's possible with Ti.
Do you have pro version of Ti backup or is it possible to backup anything usefull with free version.
EDIT:
I'm using "update" script from SU setings to keep it installed over updates and I use PA gapps which also stay after every update

I'm also using the same configuration. But none of them work the way for me as you described.. each update would mess SU up.
As of Ti, I have the paid version, but I'm not sure if you need it to do the same..
For last couple of days, Google play services has been throwing up an error dialogue on my phone that it has stopped with OK and Report Button Although there doesn't seem any downside for it, except for its annoyance that I have to click OK , the error comes up randomly. For hours it might not come but it can also come up many times in an hour. Screenshot of what is contained in crash report is attached
Anyway, first I thought my ROM had corrupted. So, I wiped everything and re-installed a new ROM. However, the error didn't go away, again it will come up randomly. So I thought it was due to f2fs format since I had formatted /data, /data/media and /cache partitions to f2fs using arter97's recovery (I was using his kernel also). So I formatted them back to ext4, also changed my recovery back to philz's and installed stock CM rom. But again the error started coming
So I thought maybe it was due to I had been restoring apps via Titanium Backup which is causing the issue. So I stopped restoring apps, however It didn't work either, I was still getting the error. I started flashing many different ROMs (CM, omni, aosp, custom touchwiz) , gapps combination's (banks, 0day PA, others), factory resetting 10s of times, using MegaWipe script to format everything, removing the memory card permanently, however the error is still coming.
So in the end, I flashed stock samsung 4.3 ROM via ODIN and did a factory reset, however the error is still coming
I don't know what else to do ? Is my phone NAND corrupted ? Is there any test I can do to make sure ?
Please suggest..
So I was having lots of issues installing the latest unofficial cyanogenmod 4.4.4 to my Vibrant, due to the setup wizard force closing. I had made multiple attempts of installing various gapps prior, unsuccessfully, and restoring previous nandroids etc.
Anyways this last time, I installed only the rom, and no Gapps at all. I guarantee I had done a factory wipe, wiped the cache, and wiped the dalvik cache. Once I booted, and got through the setup wizard (which still gave problems, but made it through), to my surprise the play store was there, along with a could other gapps.
This is pretty much close to what I wanted, as I would prefer to have only the play store, and nothing else and then selectively install the others. but I'm just wondering how it happened? I was under the impression I should have no play store without gapps, and that I shouldn't have had any gapps after a fresh wipe and new rom install.
I know this kind of thread has been already asked but I am having serious problems with my RN3Pro (2 Gigs, 16 ROM) since years (since 2017), its laggy, slow, and no matter what ROM I try (I tested SMIUI, Cyanogenmod, Lineage, Resurrection Remix, Liquid Remix, CRDroid, AOSP Extended ...) ... I even installed Radon Kernel to try and improve the system performance, nothing helped, enabled zram too, still the same.
I usually run between 2GB/200MB of internal memory free, due to telegram cache and all these things, still the same, no matter what I do, its slow in all senses.
When I install a rom I do a total wipe with new openGapps and new magisk, I never dirty flash over nothing, the phone can run fine but as soon as I install my apps (or I restore them by titanium backup) I go back to slow performance.
What I should do ? Im actually on Pie (AOSP Extended, no Radon Kernel), but im planning to go back to Oreo (AOSP Extended, Radon Kernel installed) or come back to MIUI
Im afraid of come back to MIUI since I love to touch my DPI settings, I use Adaway, Kernel Auditor and a lot of things I cant do with MIUI.
May someone help me ?
Thanks.

lol  your answers lies in your question itself.
Noone face problem. Why? Think first.
What u doThats not Clean flash.
Make sure u r on latest official twrp 3.2.3
First go to twrp . Format data to decrypt data and erase internal sd.
Go to wipe. Press format data
Type YES to format
It will erase data and internal sd partition.
Then Wipe data reset.
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot
Do not restore any data backup from twrp.
When u first boot into system. During initial setup wizard. select DONT COPY DATA. Start as fresh setup.
After setup finished.
Do not restore backup or anything from titaniuim backup. Its main cause of ur problems. Restoring old backup on new android os bring crshes, bugs, drains, laggs.
Download and install everything from playstore.
Its done .Now check ur performance.:good:

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind then, since I faced all these problems for a lot of time didnt knew maybe titanium backup was a possible reason, I do backups of my apps since 2014 and never had problems on any other device ...
Thanks again

Days ago, after read you, I decided to give up and go back to MIUI and then start again, with a total erase and full memory reset, I updated TWRP and also installed all with only a few titanium backups restore (I needed them, so I had no choice), the phone now runs quite aceptable and great, I took a look at kernel auditor before and after the complete restore, before I wasn't having any deep sleep, now, my phone have deep sleep most of the time and less high freq's
Didnt knew that titanium backup and not formatting my personal data was too bad, thanks again Black_Stark!
