Root Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone. I'm looking for a way to have root access on this device. I checked this topic (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ze...v-liftoff-zs570klpro-official-unlock-t3557276), but it did not work and the device crashed. I was able to recover, and now I would like a way to finish the job. Can anyone teach me? I thank you.

Please provide some more information. What did you do, at what point did it crash etc. Also, I think you would be better off asking for help in the thread you mentioned (reply to the original post).

I tried to comment on the topic itself, but it says that I am not allowed. I went to the part where it says flash bootroot.img, and then the device bricked. I was able to recover the system, and I would like to get root access.

Sorry, I forgot about the restrictions for new users. Ok, I suggest we try this a different way. But before we start, I need the answer to these 5 questions:
how did you unbrick your device?
what does Settings -> About -> Hardware Information -> CPU say?
what does Settings -> About -> Build Number say?
which operating system is running on your computer?
have you already got adb and fastboot installed on your computer (if you're not sure, it won't hurt to assume no )
(Note that I have some rooting and command line experience but haven't rooted an Asus Zenfone 3 ZS570KL myself yet and don't have one to try this out, so I can only help with generic steps.)

I got it! I studied with a little more calm and found some procedures on the topic that worked. Thank you very much!

Glad you found a way! Btw: If you want to thank someone, then pressing the small "Thanks" button underneath their post would also be nice, cos that goes into their profile so others can see at a glance that others have already considered their posts helpful. Enjoy root!

[Request] root procedure for Alcatel 916D (FB Spark)

Hi! Can anyone please help me root Alcatel 916D (FB Spark)? A real nice low budget qwerty dual-sim phone running Android GB. I've tried all rooting tools i can find on the web like: SuperOneClick, Unlocker,Doomlord, z4root etc... but nothing seems to work. Lately, i tried flashing a new boot.img based on what i read from a post using a scatter text file, unfortunately now, my phone is bricked and stuck on a bootloop. I brought it to Alcatel Service Center for the reinstallation of its fresh OS coz OneTouch Software Uprade won't allow me to install it on my own. As soon as my 916D is fixed i'll try again to root it and i hope that someone in our community could provide me with a good tutorial and rooting files particularly usuable with 916D.
Likewise, i would also appreciate if someone could provide me a tutorial and files necessary on Increasing the Internal Storage of Alcatel 916D coz its merely 150MB.. Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi,
I have an OT-916 and I need to be root, this phone has an storage problem, only 90Mb internal free, and I need to be root for erase some applications.

Alcatel has open source code for OT-916D - so what we need, that somebody with C++, Java knowledge for Root and CWM, I think.
Source Files
The source files for Alcatel OT-916 (and many other models) can be downloaded here: sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/
As for rooting, I tried every available method, including MTKdroidTools, but none of them work.
I found a guide to root but i haven't teste yet !

Thanks for the feedback. I am about to try it as soon as I find alcatel OT-916 driver for windows 8.
By the way, how did you enter in DOWNLOAD mode on your Alcatel OT-916? I can't figure out how to do it.

Need your help, I'm kinda stuck on bootloop and I haven't made any backup with the cwm.
Can anyone be kind enough to have their back up uploaded so I can restore my phone please?

I second this motion If anybody has a whole ROM that can be flashed with SP Flash Tool, please help us les miserables.
I formatted the phone, now it doesn't even turn on. I wrote Alcatel and asked them for assistance, but still waiting for their reply. I hope they can provide me with the stock ROM. If they don't, I'm afraid I'll have to take it to a repair center.

nice to know that this work! actually i haven't have this phone yet but really wanna have one and root it because of memory issues, however the link given is not understandable because its of different language..yes i can translate the page to english but not the video in there... so im worried that if i tried to, i am at risk of bricking it since i don't fully understand it and i see this rooting procedure is more complicated than JB on ios... it will be my first root if ever...yes im a newbie(noob) to android, so i hope you can help me and if its ok can you make a video if it does not bother you... i'd look forward to this... thank you very much
I have Alcatel OT-916, not OT-916D which is dual sim, and I tried to follow the procedure in the link but when I tried to flash the phone it just didn't want to connect although I was able to read the ram and all the time I was getting error USB not found.
Now the phone is soft-bricked. I'm able to communicate with it but it just won't turn on, like it's hard bricked.
P.S: I think 916 and 916D have different scatter files, that might be the problem. Still I want to hear second opinion.
__________
I forgot to mention something very important. The phone wasn't bricked 'till I tried flashing with option DA Download All checked, which kind of worked, the progress bar went to 100% but I got error BROM ERROR:S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL(5054).

I can help you get rooted. First you will need to install drivers on your PC so your device can communicate with the root program. Then try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43163569&postcount=7
If that dont work, let me know. You can always use MTK Droid Tools and SP flash tool to pull your stock recovery and port it into a custom recovery that will allow you to flash a simple root.zip
Hope this helps!

Try using this, it installs drivers for many different phones, it may not be the actual manufacturers drivers for your specific device but it will help get your phone talking to your PC:
http://www.snappea.com/
Also - Make sure you are going into settings and turning USB debugging on. You can usually find this under Settings > Developer Options.

Go here and download MTK Droid Tools from first post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490&styleid=18
Run the program and connect your phone to PC, this tool will tell you lots of info about your phone but the main function is to possibly back up your stock firmware (This is good to have if you plan on trying to flash anything to the phone, this way you will have your stock files to fall back on in case something you flash to the phone does not work.) Once you have MTK Droid Tools running and phone connected, what does it say next to Hardware on the phone info tab please?
I am not sure off top of my head about updating to a higher version of Android but this back up step is REALLY important. It is hard if not impossible to find stock firmware floating around on the net for these chinese clone devices. IF you have stock files backed up you can flash almost anything you want knowing you have a way to restore your phone to working order. IF you look around here on XDA you will see tons of posts by people looking for the stock firmware for their clone phone after soft bricking it playing around. Sadly there is not much help for them unless they find someone with the EXACT same phone and are willing to share their back up (if the next person made one theirselves that is!)

appologies for my ignorance in all of this, but like i said in my first post, i have no idea what i'm doing with all this, thanks

Hi, i use Motochop it works fine for me, dont forget run app as admin!
Regards
The information is out there, but not always easy to find. I haven't had to recover my Prime yet, but I've done the backups before flashing to Androwook, and have read up on how to recover should anything go wrong. here is what I've found as a good resource:
*Note: Being able to get into APX mode is a good start*
Go to this thread, "[GUIDE] nvFlash General Users Guide [Unbrick/Recover/Downgrade/Upgrade]- TF201"
The step-by-step guide is self explanatory. It goes over getting the NVIDIA Naked Drivers, NVFLASH and Wheelie. And the best part, there are links to the stock "un BLOB'D" files, which you will need for a recovery. This is basically the stock rom you can download from the ASUS site, and broke out into the separate recoveries for all the partitions.
and to answer your last question about what to do if you cannot unbrick... yes, you would need to replace the motherboard as the last resort.
Good luck!
edit: Found a really good thread (saved to my favorites) showing step-by-step process to unbrick:

[Q] Root request: Alcatel Onetouch Pop Icon A564C

Hello,
Just purchased this phone and would like a root in order to expand its storage. It's a new offering from TracFone and is limited for on-phone storage. Other than that, it's a fairly decent phone considering it is a TF. I searched the forums and found other similar phones, but none matched this one. If someone would be willing to help, you would get a lot of thanks from TF users who bought this phone.

Hi MotoJunkie01. I saw your post today, and I just got an Alcatel A564C from TracFone. I would be very interested in rooting this device, since the accessible internal memory is so small it makes it almost unusable. Please open a root thread for this device if you feel there is enough interest. Or, if you would be willing, just send me a PM with the instructions. I have been able to gain temporary root permissions on this device using KingRoot, but they go away with every reboot. Also, I have not found any way to unlock the bootloader. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

MotoJunkie, fellow R.F. guy here, I have been browsing this site for well over a year and just signed up in fact this is my first post. I was following your information on the LG zone 3 as well. I own a brand new in the box A564C and just can't get it rooted. I too, tried different ways and actually was able to get temp root once with kingroot when the phone was really lagged out for some reason I had root until reboot. But now every version of kingroot that I run comes back with a network error which is strange and didn't used to happen. So please, let us know what you have found out. I am eager to hear back from you. And, thank you so very much for your willingness to share your knowledge.
Just checking back in, to see if any advancements or progress has been made. I'm excited about finally rooting this device and anxiously waiting.

I'm getting a thread started, as well as threads for other various devices. I know you're anxious, but please be mindful that XDA rules prohibit asking for ETAs and such. It's not that I particularly mind, I just don't want to see you sanctioned for rule violations by a moderator.
A couple of things, I I may....
First of all, aside from the rules (not that I'm saying that I don't respect them, I do but at the same time want you to know what I'm about to say is genuine and not out of fear of getting booted off the forum) I want to personally apologize if I came off as asking for an ETA or came off as rude or unappreciative in any way, shape or form. That was not my intent at all, and rather than PM you I wanted to publicly say that I am sorry for that and to let you know as I previously mentioned how much I enjoy reading your posts and am thankful for your willingness to share your knowledge. With that said I won't get off subject or topic again. I just felt that I needed you to know that I was just excited that someone had it figured out is all and I will pay closer attention on how I come across from now on. Take care.

You're are both respectful and courteous, qualities that are coveted and always welcome here at XDA. I didn't take any offense to your questions but I appreciate your kind words. On an update for this device, I'll be posting a root thread early this week coming -- Tuesday or Wednesday most likely. I have threads for this and at least 4 more devices I'll be posting.
Thanks again for your kind words. By the way I'll be posting the link to my thread here, so check early in the week.
I certainly will...thanks for your reply, and can't wait! I will keep checking back periodically. Thanks again!!
Update: I'm experiencing a boot loop on my own device from trying to flash custom recovery. Trying to get this snag worked out and get the tutorial posted. Sorry for delay.
Hey,..noooo problem on this end...again, just grateful you're both willing to work through the issues and obstacles as they come your way (and if it's anything like that happens to me they sometimes seem to come out of no where, just about when I think my task is complete) but also appreciative that you're willing to share. I would like to start a new thread, not to pile on your list of people bugging you about things already, but need to find the right section. It is more of an R.F. type related question with regards to the modems in the phones and weather the modulation techniques and bands capable are software driven like a software defined radio or more hardware dependent. I know as far as bands go the frequency coverage would have to depend on hardware all the way from the local oscillator to the RX strip to the TX PA as far as gain and linearity, duplexors of some type, antenna (s) being resonant at the middle of the desired band (s) but as far as modulation techniques being more software controlled somehow? Anyways, stuff that I am very interested in but haven't found a section??

MotoJunkie01 - I'm curious to know if this boot loop issue has resulted in you stopping work on rooting this device? Although I am still interested in obtaining root on this phone, I'm cool either way. I'm just posting to see if you think obtaining root and posting a tutorial is still in the cards?
Thanks again for your work on this. I really do appreciate it.
I'm sorry guys. Upon trying to flash the device with a stock fir!mware image to fix the boot loop, my device is now hard bricked. I can tell you, in order to root your device, use the latest KingRoot apk. This will give you temp root only, meaning root will not survive a reboot. So, to gain permanent root, install BusyBox (any version should suffice), then download SuperSU-Me Pro from the Play Store (paid app). This will eradicate the KingRoot root binaries from your device and replace them with the latest version of SuperSU. You will then have full root.
To root Alcatel One Touch Pop Icon A564C with KitKat 4.4.2 TracFone, download KingRoot for pc in English from this site. It rooted on the 2nd run.
On the xda-developers forum, find the following:

Hello.
I will thank you if this method would work on my phone, but I am unsure my root would be successful. I would appreciate the steps you took in order to root the A564C(such as time to root, USB debugging, etc.) and if you can post how your phone is doing since the root. I would be much thankful.

AT&T Alcatel OneTouch Allura (5056O) - Looking for Stock ROM

I am currently in communication with Alcatel's U.S. support (which may be outsourced, who knows?), and they have made it clear there is no OTU (OneTouchUpdate) available for the AT&T Alcatel Allura 5056O device. Their current advice is limited to performing a factory reset via the GUI, which of course isn't possible for a softbricked phone.
This means that as of this writing, there is no known way to restore this device from a softbrick.
I am explaining carefully the issue I and and a number of others here on XDA have experienced with this phone to Support, specifically asking for some method to reload the stock ROM, and will report any constructive suggestions they may have. But the OTU I made available at:
https://www.multcloud.com/share/0377ab37-15ed-4bcd-be3b-dbe8c7eb2cc8
...that lists the 5056 simply will not work on the 5056O.
Received this from the Contact Center:
The firmware is information that would only be available at the repair center. We would recommend you to perform a factory reset...

Still trying, but it isn't looking very good for those of us with softbricked 5056Os...
Yup I wanted to root the phone, so I did but then it bootlooped and it's bricked lol.
Haven't heard anything else from Alcatel's Customer "Support," so I've resent my questions to see if I can get some answers out of someone. There are enough of us affected by this issue that I'm not going to let them off quite so easily...
More bad news; the most recent reply from Alcatel CS:
At this moment it would be to send in the device into the repair center to get it repaired for you.

Clearly they are going to be less than helpful for those of us with the 5056O. Unless some kind soul here who has this phone is willing to image and post a copy of the Allura ROM, or someone knows a tech working for Alcatel who can supply the ROM, those of us with soft-bricked phones are completely screwed.
Am getting same info from Twitter CS...the ROM is only available inside their repair center.
(*sigh*) So unless someone else manages to liberate this device's ROM, guess we all might as well throw the devices in a drawer and move along. Just remember that the next time you're phone shopping, and bypass the Alcatel/TCL offerings.
Friends here I leave a link for you to download a copy I made to the Alcatel Allura 5056O, I did it through the flashfire application, I think if some advanced developer could work it, it would solve the problem we have. Https://mega.nz/#!01NDVR5K!rPPYEd87ndmg5Q9jmQ3qWjm1qGD3Rm7ge83yIsezSSQ
Excuse my bad English, I'm from Venezuela.

That is excellent, thank you very much!
Now let me make sure I understand; is this a copy of a softbricked ROM, or a functional one? Is it rooted or non-rooted?

It is a copy of a functional rom, has root access and has modifications that I did before the device would damage me, but I have all my data in it.

So, if we can figure out how the Alcatel OTUs push the ROM to the phone, we might be able to get a softbricked phone to the point of performing a system reset...
Time to start reading up on how...

The problem with my phone is that I made a modification to the build prop and upon restart I just showed the logo and then black screen, connect it to the adb and try to carry a custom recovery of a 6040A alcatel I had before and the result was that too Delete the recovery stock, now the phone when I connect it to adb appears to me as unauthorized, so I have not been able to repair it

Keep trying. I've noticed that my 5056O does the same thing, but if I keep trying (restarting the phone, plugging in-and-out, etc.) I can eventually get adb devices to show it as "device" at which point I can acquire a shell, which can be SU'd.
Not guaranteeing this will work for you, but it has worked for me quite a few times so far. Beginning to think this phone is just magic, not science.
Just a quick bump to remind folks there are a bunch of soft-bricked 5056O phones out here in desperate search for a ROM...
Another bump to see if anyone has additional information on 5056O ROMs...hope springs eternal!
Still nothing, eh?
Hoping for someone with info on how to unbrick an Alcatel OneTouch Allura (5056O) - a stock ROM and means for recovery would be great!
Dear friends, after suffering for more than a year with my damaged phone, find a solution, I hope you can also solve it.
Here is a guide and the link to download the tool.
In the completely off phone will press the volume up and down keys at the same time and connect it to the pc so enter the download mode
1) Download the tool from this link https://mega.nz/#!NpkhnCoT!q5LxwJdWfIjcIY2tl99eGbhvRtrSY8bk-GQcDji7Rhs
2) Then unzip it install it on the pc
3) They execute it and they place the user and the password that he left in the attached note, when the update comes out they tell him not to
4) They look for the model of the team and they give to the option of flash and enjoy the magic
The only bad thing is that in the process the network release is lost

Um, last time I checked, the 5056O didn't have available ROMs outside AT&T. Is this the phone you repaired?
Also, latest version of SUGAR I found is v11.6.9R, which I placed in the MultCloud shared folder at https://www.multcloud.com/share/0377ab37-15ed-4bcd-be3b-dbe8c7eb2cc8 in the Misc folder. Same credentials as listed in the older README:
Region: All
Username: SU_IN.Panasonic
Password: KoD8naL2
Dongle authorization: unchecked

My fault being unfamiliar with this stuff, but can you explain what was lost?
Oh, and I don't suppose this got you any closer to installing a custom recovery to root the phone?
does anyone have a link to the stock firmware? for an ALcatel onetouch Allura 5056O, I've been browsing the thread and seen none of the links provided for the stock firmware are all dead.

I had hat on a HDD from a while back and never had a way to use it until I found edl. I'm currently flashing it now and I have no idea if it's gonna work or not. I don't think it will but who knows.
Also, its probably gonna take a few days or more to flash...
Edit: It failed at some point just a few hours in. Maybe it was just my device because I have disassembled it in the past looking for test points. I wish everyone else good luck.
