Bro its a simple answer.
Use Marshmallow or above version ROM > insert your memory card. Then a pop-up will come. Select> use format sdcard as internal. Then your memory card would be used as adoptable internal storage. Make sure that you use a fast memory card class 10 or more. You data on memory card will be erased and you won't be able to use as portable drive unless and until you format it as external.

[Q] N9330 - How to merge the Internal Storage and Phone Storage

Hi all,
I have just purchased a N9330 Note 2 and I am wondering if anyone has managed to merge the phone's
Internal Storage (512M) and Phone Storage 1.68GB.
The Internal Storage will always run out of space (since it is only 512M) and the low disk space warning would come on.
I just want to merge these two together so I get about 2GB of space for Android to run from since I already put a 16GB micro SD
i feel the 1.68GB that is factory partitioned as a storage space can be put to better use and solve my low disk space warning.
Also I am trying to clear the Dalvik Cache from this phone. How do I do that?
I really hope someone can help me. Thanks!!
Sv: [Q] N9330 - How to merge the Internal Storage and Phone Storage
Also looking for a way to do this, as I'm not pleased with the current alternative roms.
This is exactly what I need to do. Please could someone help if they know. I need to update my Google apps that are required to be on internal storage and not on SD storage.
Common experts.. Reply..
I am looking for the same answer from pretty long time and done my homework but couldnt find a answer. Common experts, give us a way to combine internal storage and phone storage...
Cheers..
There won't be a way to combine them, but there usually is a way to swap the storage mount points so the phone recognizes the external as the internal and vice versa by messing with the vold.fstab file. Any method to extend your storage either via that method, or by using other ways like Links2SD or CronMod will all involve the phone being rooted.
You can easily merge/resize the storage size, please refer to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240954
Dalvik Cache can be cleaned using Titanium Backup or Link2Sd or any similar program.
Just remember to factory reset after resizing.

Internal Storage Issue!

I know this issue has been covered many times on the forum but I couldn't find a proper way to solve it.
I am having a Galaxy S2 running official jelly bean 4.1.2.
I don't know why Samsung has partition the internal storage this bad :/
It only gives us 2 GB for installing apps from the play store and currently I'm running out of Internal storage because I keep a lot of apps on my phone. I can't even move any app (not even a single app) to USB Storage. I always get the error that "Unable to move app. Not enough storage space."
I got around 6-7 GB free in my USB Storage so there is a lot of space there.
Is there any way to increase the Internal storage (2 GB) to a bigger size 3 GB or 4 GB or a solution so that I can transfer the apps to the USB storage?
Thanks in advance.
Usb. Is were the Rom and kernel ie running system is. Sd card is were you keep apps and things and ext sd is well ext sd card. If you have 7gb free then you put them there. Why would you want to put them in Usb. ? Usb is for running system not for apps. Sd card is for that.

Okay then What I meant is that how can I move the apps which are installed in my Internal storage(2GB) to the usb storage(or as u defined SD card) Since it always gives me the error "Unable to move app. Not enough storage space"
I dont have an external SD card plugged in my Galaxy S2. Just the internal 16 gigs. is all I have
What space is left on both pls. only part of the apps will be moved to Usb. Why do you want to fill up Usb??

On my phone, if apps are moved to sd they exist on the external SD card. Maybe that's why it says you don't have enough space, because you don't have an external sd card? I guess any small one would do, no need to splash out for a 64GB one...

I got your point mate. You meant that I must need to have a external micro SD card to move my apps?
And in this case I can't move them to my USB Storage?
One thing more, I could move my apps to usb storage when I was using Super Nexus 2.0 ROM..

The internal storage is almost full just some MB's left there out of 2GB. And the USB storage got enough 6GB-7GB left. I want to fill up the USB so that I can download more apps because at this moment,my internal memory is completely full and I cant download any app from the Play store so that's why I want to move them to the USB storage.

I just checked on my phone: with external sd card I can move apps to sd, without I get the message you mentioned. So either use an external sd card or a ROM that allows you to use the internal sd card.
Okay thanks for your help.
I guess I need to buy a 16 gb micro SD card. Can anyone tell me how much a good micro SD card costs? With a speed that won't be causing problems so that I can play games easily without affecting the speed.
Don't cheap out on them. Sandisk are best. 16gb £20-30

Can't store apps on sd card

My phone is not rooted, locked bootloader and I'm using 23.5.a.0.486 android 6.0.1 beta. I put my new 128 gb Sony sd card into my phone. The phone recognised it, and says that there is 120 gb of free space. I can copy music, photos, videos and other files to the sd card, but when I try to move apps to sd card it says that there is not enough storage space and I can't move the apps, but it's sure that there is a lot of free storage space. Please help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance
It is either a BETA Bug or Marshmallow's problem. Also the management of USB-OTG memories is incredibly bad. (Can't copy-paste like we do on Lollipop)

I dont think it will work. I think Sony disable that feature from 6.0.

Increase Internal Storage through Marshmallow?

Well...
I've got a moto E and a 8GB SD card. I have been using MM(AICP) for like months and I really love the ROM and its battery backup but the thing is I'm running out of storage space.. The system itself takes like 1.2 GB out of 2.1 GB available internal storage and few basic apps - I'm full...
I have only 1 game and would like to try more like I used to but can't download as play stores says I'm out of space... Updating apps have been an issue too.. I want to fix this by buying a Samsung 32GB EVO+ class 10 (20MB/s Write Speed) and use it as my internal storage...
Worth it?
Anyone using their SDCards as internal storage? Bugs or Good Experience?
Should I buy or go back to CM11?
-Thanks
Yes. It will be worth it and the problem you are facing is faced by everyone.
So is your phone rooted? If not search xda for methods to root your phone. Then use Link2sd. You can find detailed guide on how Link2sd works in xda itself. if not then i can help.
How link2sd works? In short:-
It requires 2 partitions of your sd card (you will know how to partition your sd in every link2sd guide) one partition for media storage like songs videos images etc and the other will work as internal memory. For this you will require rooted device. And also you will need Foldermount which will enable you to move the obb or game data from internal to external sd. And root is necessary for this too. Hope it helps.
Marshmallow has inbuilt feature of using Memory Card as Internal Storage.
I am using it from a month and honestly no bugs.
The only problem is that you have to format your SD card in the phone itself to use again as portable storage device.
The second thing is that If you format your phone or start using another ROM your SD card data will be of no use and you will have to format it again.
Hope I helped you.
Thanks both of you... I should go for a 32GB class 10 then?

Yes you can.
Now... I've got the SD Card. What should I prefer? Link2SD or Marshmallow's feature?
I want to get the best performance out of SD card... Plus hassle free operation.

marshmallows feature since it automatically moves all apps to SDcard.
One more thing link2sd will create partition out of your SD card while marshmallow will automatically format your SD card as internal storage..
Marshmallow feature is strongly preferred.
Hope I solved your query.?
Well I've been using this hybrid method lol. I partitioned my SD card so that - one partition is used for marshmallow's feature and rest space as portable storage
Didn't wanted to go all in as the feature encrypts the entire card and makes it unusable on other devices.
My phone's running smoother than before maybe coz of the Class 10 UHS-1(though UHS-1 speeds aren't supported by my device) card I've been using. I'm getting ~11.63 MB/s which is faster than phone stock internal storage(~11MB/s).
Thanks for all you suggestions and inputs!

Were you able to do this?
Just bumping this up, is it possible to use sd card as internal storage? Or adoptable storage please?

Yes most of the apps but not all. Some modules in EdXposed will not work so you have to move them to the real internal memory.
How did you set this up? Is there a particular ROM or was this installed later? Did you use a tool to set the partition? Perhaps a link to docs and downloads would help if you have them.
