It's a common problem with all LOS based ROM.Use miui ROM or AOSP ROM with miui latest firmware for full signal strength.

ROM signal strength & display MIUI vs custom

In certain locations, my home being one I find all the custom ROMs signal bar go empty even though it has signal.
My questions are why does MIUI do a better job of keeping the signal displayed and do a better job of intelligently switching between 4g and 3g depending on strength compared to custom ROMs?
I understand not everyone can test this.
I observed this also but both Custom ROM and MIUI has both bad receptions for me, orange bar in battery settings, but the exception is Lineage 14.1 by minzi, my signal with that ROM is good.

I did observe in testing that N was managing it better, Darn why can't they fix those pesky flashlight bugs and camera, pity MM code can't be reused for N for these bugs.

Yeah, I'm just waiting for them to fix flashlight and camera and I'll immediately switch to N. Bad reception is killing my battery. I got stable reception on N
EDIT: Using CM13, I chose the LTE (Recommended) option instead of 2G, somehow I'm getting better reception than selecting 2G. Bug maybe.

Custom rom with stable network on JIO 4G

Can anyone suggest a custom rom which provides stable JIO 4g network on areas with low network coverage?
I recently flashed lineage os and found the jio 4g network to be very unstable in areas with poor coverage.
Go for the nitrogen OS its the best till date for RN3.
s same
same problem me pls help
It was discussed here before:

Button line is, there's no solution yet. Stick to original Xiaomi or xiaomi.eu ROMs if signal strength is important to you and you don't want fluctuations

is there any MM based rom which has stable network and VOLTE working, which can be used as a daily driver?

The only MM ROM which is still being continued is LineageOS 13:

VoLTE isn't working out of the box but someone got it working this way:

All caf-based ROMs have no signal fluctuations.
I'd recommend BlissROM or AOSiP.

Some people would argue with you. No difference between CAF based and LineageOS:

I dunno how far valid is the CAF issue, but I never had any problem with AOSIP rom. Have been using it for near 2 months now and using jio ofcourse

I'll Suggest that you can go for Pixel Experience For Poco F1 and check the review of rom on YouTube, it's the most stable and most preferred rom for daily USAGE. Its ok to hate MIUI as its heavily skinned that's not good for those who prefer stock.
I suggest baikal os. One of the most stable rom.Great battery life and great performance. Give it a try

Have you used crDroid? I am tempted to switch over to pixel experience as I dont really use any of the extra customisations that come with crDroid. I was on LineageOS, but only switched to crDroid as the signal quality wasnt great on Lineage, and crDroid had the signal fix on it. Im guessing PE has the signal fix applied?
I am similar like you, i dont like miui, and i want fully stable rom with minimum custmization, can we make group on telegram? People like us who want to stay close to aosp, and stability
Msg me on telegram https://t.me/MrNohara
Im looking to flash reloaded caf, as its close to aosp, and dev assured that he wont add any more features

Oxygen OS
@falconhossam1, I tested few roms on poco board. And in my opinion AOSiP is the king at this moment (at least for me of course) you can try it. Derp Kernel and theme Black AF out of the box is great
Someone please tell me off for asking this in the wrong place !! I have a similar question as I also want to change from Miui (10.1.0.3 PEJMIFI) and everything I have read seems to suggest the new PE rom is very stable and I would certainly switch. BUT... my question is.... is there a guide on how to flash the PE rom from a clean factory Miui rom, and how to return to the same factory state including OTA if after some time I decide to. Thanks for all responses.
crDroid if you want a bunch of features on a stable rom. Havoc-OS is my next favorite, but it doesn't get updates as often.

Fair enough, I'll stick with it then It has been solid since I made the switch, only the first build I tried had some issues with the notch and notifications icons, and they got fixed on the next one.
Has any1 tried RRemix? I remember it to be a beast for gaming on my previous devices. Is it still the same on the poco?

Sorry Never Tried crdroid but Instead Of flashing Pixel Experience I checked many reviews of youtube and all suggested That nitrogen OS is as stable as Pixel rom with Many features so I installed NITROGEN OS and Man I just didn't faced any mic issue or net speed reduction its Just Fantastically buttery smooth and perfect. I love it.
---------- Post added at 12:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:47 PM ----------
Believe me, These 2 roms(Pixel Experience & Nitrogen OS) are most stable as far as I saw many many youtube reviews. Just before Flashing the pixel rom I thought I will face lack of Thermal battery saving mode that extremely saves battery SO I checked many reviews for Nitrogen OS and I flashed it, Man its damn stable not a single issue for me I rooted with magisk and All banking apps are working. Too. And PUBG works awesome as it would in my MIUI. So go for Nitrogen If you want stability + feature and go for Pixel experience for Pure Stable Pixel Experience with lack of advance features.
hey guys..
this is Anil.
i have tried almost every ROM available for our poco device.
but i found out they all have some kind of issues associated with them like, overheating, lags a lot while playing pubg, network issue, internal audio in gameplay is not available, even i have tried xiaomi.eu rom but still got the same problem as it also overheats a lot.
so finally i installed the official global stable ROM, and now i have everything i needed with the phone. best gameplay experience with awesome battery backup (9+ hours of SOT on normal usage).
so if anyone wants to install custom rom just for the gaming and battery backup so i would suggest you to stick with the global stable rom (10.3.4. update is beast).
Thank You.

no i am not rooted yet, and yes i don't any touch issue with this new update.
but yes sometimes while playing pubg my trigger seems to be stuck and i continuously shooting than i have to touch the trigger again to stop it.
what could it be?
Aside from the rom, can you guys suggest a good kernel with great battery life? I'm not quite satisfied with the built in kernel with NOS.
Stock MIUI is the most stable ROM and always will be.
Second most stable would be the custom MIUI mods (Mi-Room, Xiaomi.eu, etc) with varying degrees.
Third most stable is probably some GSI.
Least stable is basically every other custom ROM. Their kernels seem to be based on newer CAF/Linux tags and the devs seem to have reverted Xiaomi-specific fixes and optimizations.
Custom ROM's aren't ready for daily use yet, IMO. Depends what you use your phone for, though.

Getting Very Low SOT at Poco F1

Hello to all
I'm posting here first time. I'm using Poco F1 since march 2018.
But getting too low SOT around 5 hours by keeping mobile data ON during whole day.
Kindly suggest me any best Rom, kernel, or something to increase my phone's battery life.
Currently using MIUI.EU latest build 10.3.6 stable.
Thanks in advance.
Yup same problem here. You could go back to MIUI Oreo 10.0.6.0 i think was the last update before pie. Me too, i'm on mobile data all day and get 1 h SOT per 20% battery drop. Tried all roms, all ports, al miui variants, no success. The only one that worked better was MIUI Oreo, but i couldn't resist on miui, is ugly and bloated anf overcomplicated with usless stuff. So now i'm on Nitrogen OS with Illusion kernel anf get 7 h sot on wifi only anf around 5 h sot on LTE. Not a gamer.

the last oreo for poco f1 is 9.6.25 global stable.....the best rom regarding battery performance.
Try a clean install of stock 10.3.6.0.
My POCO experiences a nice SOT (more than 10hrs) with this build.
I'll try Miui Oreo and Nitrogen after I'll come back..

It might be unaccurate for me to have a test with LTE connection due to the bad signal in my place, but theoretically, mobile data connection shouldn't be a key factor of SOT.

keep in mind that miui oreo doesn't have option for battery percentage. some themes will show you battery percentage in statusbar, but those themes i found them quite ugly and buggy.

Though mobile signal doesn't impact SOT directly, a bad signal will result in the phone continuously searching for a better signal and that will drain the battery, in turn affecting the SOT.

That's right, and that's exactly why I said it might be unaccurate for me to have a test with LTE connection.
During low signal phones gives more power to the antenna to empower the signal which is definitely consuming more power. For example if you leave your phone bear the bed while you are sleeping with your Wi Fi on, but the router is in another room and the Wi Fi signal is weak, during the night this will drain the battery significantly more than being near the router. Same applies for the Data connection, if u are in area with bad signal than your phone is constantly draining more power than comparingly in a region with good reception. May be you should try what will be the results in aeroplane mode so u can detect if the problem is battery related

OOS port ROMs vs AOSP/Pixel/LOS ROMs

Hey brother,
Can frequent ROM users please throw some light on. their expeirence with OOS port ROMS vs AOSP/LOS/Pixel ROMS.
1 opinion is that OOS ROMs are very smooth as seen on Oneplus Phones.
2nd opinion is that, OOS is a ported ROM and with developers working actively on AOSP/Pixel/LOS roms they are better than ported OOS ROMS.
what do you think?
I need a ROM on which i can settle down.
Need a good stable and smooth rom... need calll recording too....
I felt that with LOS based and AOSP based roms, they tend to stutter and lag after a few weeks..
especially noticed that while using gesture navigation.. for a few days it works well byut after that, the app switching glitches and single swipes dont work well. they tend to over fling to several apps past the most recent.
Currently I am trying OOS Stay the **** home edition...
I don't use gesture based navigation so I can't comment on that but I found crDroid to be as fast months later as on day one. I stayed with crDroid 5.9 for 4 months and currently on crDroid 6.4 for 2.5 months.

No I have only used crDroid till date. It had all the features I needed. Lots of customization, excellent battery backup, solid performance, very stable and practically bug-free, smooth UI. Tried PUBG 2-3 times and it ran fluidly. Not a mobile gamer though.
Only complaint in AOSP ROMs is that Hotspot is limited to Wifi N 144Mbps even in 5GHz band mode. In MIUI and other ROMs based on it the full 867Mbps Wifi AC is utillised. This was true in Pie ROMs as well.

Can't stand MIUI. Thinking of giving OOS a try.
Everyones need is different. OOS port ia really really good and stable. Doesn't feel like a port at all. But cannot use substratum. With Oxygen os.
I hardly use miui. Ads turns me off.
Evox, pixel experience are my choices wrt aosp. Nitrogen OS and unofficial aospa arr also good.
I almost flash rom everyday or once in two days.. ?
