XDA Managing Editor here with a tutorial on how to enable quick reply from secure lockscreen (pin/password): https://www.xda-developers.com/enab...ckscreen-on-galaxy-s7-s7-edge-running-nougat/
Google removed this feature from stock Nougat, but you can enable it with a simple ADB command.
Doesn't require root. Try it out!

[Guide]Remove Navigation Bar using Adb Commands[No Root]

Hi Guys,
A lot of us are getting new devices that are not yet supported by developers or will never be supported and rooting new devices now a days is getting harder, that's why methods requiring no root are essential.
I was pointed to by @EMJI79 to the original thread of this method by @luisshnyder. Great thanks to both of them. :good:
Requirements:
* ADB and Fastboot installed on PC or Mac.
Instructions:
Type without quotations in CMD or Windows PoweShell(use ".\"before command in PowerShell):
"adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,-202"
Notes:
1. Make sure to use an alternative navigation app before doing this.
2. To change the height change the values between (0 to -210)see what suits your screen best(for me it was -202).
3. The effect sticks after reboot.
4. To return to normal type without quotations: "adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0"
5. This works on all Android versions Oreo and before, it also works on many devices.
6. There are minor bugs stated by the original thread so check them out if you have any, i haven't encountered any yet except you wouldn't be able to see the camera & voice shortcuts in the lock screen.
Finally it's best to combine this with hiding the status bar too, so type afterwards without quotations:
"adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*"
-If you want to customize on per app basis follow my other guide.
Good Luck!
I can confirm that using the old method of disabling the navigation bar(qemu.hw.mainkeys=1) from the build.prop is working fine with the April security update, also Google now on tap works fine without getting the force close error message.
This guide is rendered useless for users that can access the build.prop. ?
Thank you so much for sharing this, I've been searching for a way to completely hide the navbar without Root. Now Gesture Control can actually be used as intended. ?
My gesture non root setup I wish Google will implement.

this worked great for my nav bar- but i dont wnt to completely remove the status bar, just move it up a little.
thanks for the respond.
Dear @Rashad83 and other Contributors!
Thank your for this little summary thread, I hope I am not necrobumping right now. I just wanted you to know, that this method is still working flawlessly. My settings for the Umidigi S5 Pro (Android 10): ,,wm overscan 0,0,0,-48"
have anyone tried this on umidigi bison?
infelizmente esse comando não funciona no galaxy s20 android 13
no meu s8 android 10
funciona bem

I can't enable WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS for an app over ADB

I'm using the Chinese Find X, and when I try to give permission to an app to use WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS via ADB.
I enter this:
adb shell pm grant it.simonesestito.ntiles android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTING
and am met with:
Operation not allowed: java.lang.SecurityException: grantRuntimePermission: Neither user 2000 nor current process has android.permission.GRANT_RUNTIME_PERMISSIONS.
I have never had this problem with a phone, Chinese ROM or not.
I also tried enabling immersive mode, and received:
Security exception: Permission denial: writing to settings requires:android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
I couldn't find anything on Google. Can anybody help me out?
tyia
The more you dig into Chinese rom, the sooner you will find that Chinese android sys is not android, it's AnZhuo......
Apparently, the permission is removed for this operation.
You have to turn off the last security option in dev mode on your X. Did not remeber the name.

hi, same problem here. Where can I find the "last security option" - what does it mean? Don´t have any idea to solve it
In developer options, enable "USB Debugging (Security settings). If you do not know how to enable developer options in android, search google.

Please upload any xposed logs when you encounter any issue. I can't help you without the logs!
Installation
To install this module you need the following apps and modules installed on your device:
Magisk v24.0 and above - https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
Option 1 - Zygisk
LSPosed Magisk Zygisk Release module v1.8.2 and above - https://github.com/LSPosed/LSPosed/releases

Known Issues
A lot has changed since Android 11. Since I don't have an Android 12 device all tests have been done with various testers. THERE MAY BE UNKNOWN ISSUES!!
Some features are removed on purpose. Since GravityBox has been working on Samsung Oreo devices without much issues, I only implemented features that need special Samsung coding.

Hi @firefds, thanks a lot for releasing your module for Android 12! Highly appreciated!
Also thanks to @m8980 and @ianmacd for doing the testing!
The module is working very well on my S10e, although I have to admit that - since I'm on a custom ROM - I don't need all features and only use the Double Tap For Sleep function and the Advanced Power Menu.
There's one optical issue in the Advanced Power Menu that I would like you to fix: The additional icons for Recovery Mode, Download Mode and Restart SystemUI don't match the style of the original Samsung icons for Power Off and Restart, i.e. they have a different line thickness and use a font that's not consistent with the look of One UI 4.0.
I made a screenshot of how it looks with the current icons and an edited version of the screenshot of how IMHO it should look like, please see attached files.
For this I extracted the three PNG images from the res folder of your APK and edited them to match the look of One UI 4.0: I combined the shape of the restart icon, the colour of the original icons and added the Letters "R", "D" and "UI" with the Google Sans font, which is the standard system font of Android 12.
I attached the edited PNG images, so you can easily put them into your module.
I hope that you like the new icons and am looking forward for an updated version of your module. Thanks!

IIRC Firefds Kit 11 uses the same icons (I have been using it until I switched to Android 12 two months ago), so you might use the new icons there too.
Thanks.
All my devices now bootloop with NoClassDefFoundError: com.android.systemui.BasicRune
Any chance we could add those whitelists to LSposed "Recommended"? Exactly the most important call recording check is missing.
Btw if LSposed 1.7.2 is installed, Riru can be uninstalled? -> looks like Sui uses Riru, so no switching.
In the end, I could leave Firefds enabled if I don't change anything, luckily call recording is on by default.
Thanks for the update for Android 12. Everything working good on my A52s 5g. Hope that one day you can add the ability to adjust the height of the navigation bar. That was available in the gravitybox app but there is no upgrade for 12 yet and not sure there will be which is why I've asked here... appreciate your efforts though.

Had the same issue with my s22u. I reflashed through odin. Gonna try and flash this module again with magisk bootloop protector. fingers crossed.
Update
Did try flashing it 2 more times, it is causing bootloop after enabling any option and restarting.
Recovered by disabling all magisk modules from adb.
Hope there will be a fix soon.
Hello,
Thank you for A12 update.
So nice to have your magic on this version.
I would also love to see the ability to adjust navbar, and the possibility to move cursor with buttons in navbar like in GravityBox.
For me, Force MMS to connect isn't working on BeyondRom 4.1.
Is it working for others ?
I am using LSPosed zygist latest version and safety net 2.2.1

Yup, currently the rule is don't do any change. I tried do partial changes, but no luck. I simply keep it running with default settings. Also bootloop recovery wasn't that fun, it did kill some OS settings I hardly noticed - i had to walk through all the settings.

Hi,
Can anyone confirm this feature is still supported on Android 12.
The guide to ADB command to activate feature is no longer available via the app.
Can anyone provide the instructions.
