There is no "best rom" for any phone. Every ones needs and opinions are different, do you prefer tw or los based roms, which is more important features or battery life ?
It is much easier for users to give you opinions if you let them know what is important to you

Best rom threads are not allowed. Stock roms are the best.

Hello, I think what he means is you need to try as many as possible for yourself, there is no "best kitkat rom" just a matter of personal preference, what is "best" for one person may not be "best" for you.

Just try them what is best rom for one person is not for another.
I recommend imperium v27 is stable, fast and without bugs.
The battery life is really good with boeffla kernel

If you were unaware, 'best' rom threads are not allowed on XDA. If you want to know which android versions work well on the s2, stock 4.1.2 jellybean and 4.4.4 KitKat are popular choices. Lollipop has random freeze bug on our phone, which may be a deal breaker for some. Look at my sig for the rom I'm using If you use social media apps a lot, you may find yourself using cyanogenmod.

Try LOS with Sphinx kernel (v1.7).

Stock rom is full of bloatwares and tons of system apps. custom roms give you the choice to decide what you want and what you dont want. If you consider antutu benchmark to judge the device performace, then stock rom is the best. But if you are your own judge, then LOS is better than miui anyday.
N.B. Note that IR camera doesn't work on any custom roms.

There's no such thing like the "best" ROM and kernel. Every user has a different need and tend to like different mobile experiences. You have to use all of them to find the one that matches your style of usage.
