After restoring the rom backup from TWRP, my existing screen lock password became invalid. I could however get in by using the fingerprint. But I'm unable to make any changes because of the invalid screen lock password. Does anybody know how to reset the screen lock password? Thanks.

OK. I installed an update to my ROM and restored apps + data to my phone and now the lock screen is stopping me from unlocking the phone. so i installed a bypass app to at least unlock my phone.
I need to either remove/reset the password so i can change it or have something to change the password.
Any help much appreciated!

Don't Matter Fixed it!
For those that have the problem get Screen Lock Bypass and clear settings/setting storage data on titanium or related. then restart and your password is reset/removed!
You'll have to redo your settings though which dosent really matter.
So first I installed CM13 + gapps to a new honor 5x phone and it went pretty well until I restored my backup from TWRP (which from another device)
first the issue was my lock screen is giving me incorrect pins. deleted something in the system/data and bypassed it.
then I cannot use my fingerprint scanner (but the pin for lockscreen works now) it shows four fingerprints enrolled (which was mine in the twrp backup) but it says "fingerprint hardware not available" on the lockscreen
so i deleted something in the system / data / user.db which removed the 4 enrolled fingerprint: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/how-to/fingerprint-issue-restoring-twrp-backup-t3435170
but now i cannot register the fingerprint. decided to just revert to my stock backup (emui)
and now the fingerprint setting is missing. it appears in the search menu, but whenever I input my pin to register a fingerprint id, it just goes backs to the screenlock settings menu pls haaalp meee
update:
tried reverting back to stock rom by flashing boot.img and system.img from an update.zip (extracted)
was able to use fingerprint scanner again but when I install CM13 (without restoring my backup)
it wont let me get past the set up lock screen password.
whenever I enter my pin, and confirm pin, it wont let me click next. tried skipping it in the setup wizard and went to the lock screen settings and it still wont let me click next after confirming my new pin

I just decided to encrypt my Lineage 14.1 bacon (Onepluse One). During the process, I was asked to enter my lock screen pattern. Then the encryption started.
After finishing the encryption, I suddenly get the request to "enter your PIN" to unlock the device. Actually, I didn't enter any PIN? I just have my lock screen pattern.
Of course I made a full backup before encryption. So any ideas how to recover? TWRP is also locked. Any idea is welcome.
And obviously, I feel so stupid at the moment... :crying:

Is there any alternative available for screen unlocking if we forgot pin or pattern without losing your data. Similar type of ROM that can give option like forgot password, pin so we can recover the data.
Is there any option that can unlock the screen lock free if I forgot the password or pin. Is there any supported ROM that can give you option forgot password with alternate option so we cannot lose our data
