I received an email from sony about AOSP 7.1.1 so I planned to build my own rom to test. Therefore, does anyone suggest me what I need to understand before do it?. I already prepare material for this in VMware. However, I dont decide what I should do ? T.T

Could someone tell me why there's not a single cm12/cm13 custom rom for Kindle Fire HD 7"? Aren't we already able to install TWRP? Thanks.
.
I'm not an expert on this, so this isn't 100% accurate, but all the marshmallow drivers would have to be ported, and as you hopefully already know, not all the drivers and modules are working on CM11 yet. Lollipop would probably be a similar situation as with CM11, as stock kitkat is already available, but the ROM doesn't have bluetooth, camera, or OMX.
This might change in the feature though, so keep an eye on here. -w-
Hello everyone,
I've been using Yunique for almost 2 years now and very satisfied with the development got going for it.
Lineage OS is one of the best customs out there. But the official builds never support VoLTE out of the box. Can anyone tell me why they don't include that piece of software?? Most custom roms have VoLTE integration and also in Unofficial builds of LOS. Not that I'm complaining but I'm curious to know why.:silly:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ro...-14.1-20180425-UNOFFICIAL-jalebi.zip/download
Lineage (volte) latest use it with casium 1.7
I too have a same problem. I tend to write a feedback to lineage os team even nothing works.
Is there any alternate way to get volte fix on official lineage os builds?
let me guess
official lineage-os support the old non-volte stock rom. yu sent the volte upgrade later by ota updates, I think volte in roms need these implantation in stock rom, this can be the reason, post reply if someone has more info
How many builds of pir are there? can't any of them be installed permanently or are they all still alpha that will need reinstalled after official launch? i want to upgrade from the original OPX android to to pie for daily use. i also want magisks if that's not all supper outdated now too.
LOS 16 is really stable IMO and the dev announced it xill be the one supported in top priority.
There is no evidence that there will be "official" custom Rom on pie for OPX.
so the custom pie roms will not get updates from google?

?? I don't understand your question.
Google doesn't do anything about custom roms.
There is just one dev that worked on some custom roms on Pie (Pixel experience, AOSP and LOS). He just tond that he will put the priority on the LOS one. Note that it's marked as LOS 16 unofficial as he builds it itself, not in the LOS offcial roaster.
Onyx won't even be in the 15.1 roaster as it has just been ejected from official 14.1 roaster.

when Debian gets updates so does ubuntu and kubuntu and lubuntu and xubuntu. custom rom or not it IS still google android pie, so when vulnerability is found a update is pushed out for pie and all pie devices get said fix. unless phones don't work this way which would suck and mean it's un secure the custom rom dev gets boared or no longer has time.

You are confused, android builds are device specific, every patch needs to be integrated and compiled by the developer or mantainer of the rom you're using and can't be used in any other phone. Google releasses a new version of android and it's up to developers to create drivers and kernel "stuff" that allows the software to funcion in the device.

It has been a looong time since I knew about those things but if I remember your base ROM should have that same Android version as your port ROM.
And if you want an advice, please consider building a ROM from source. Troubleshooting is hell with ported ROMs. Building ROM is scary because it has commands that you don't know yet, but it's way more easy than porting. Trust me.
Here is a guide on how to build ROM from source :

@XdaNeko
It's NOT the version of Android what does matter. If that would be the case then an upgrade via OTA never would be possible.
A Stock ROM always at 100% matches phone's hardware ( CPU, GPU, RAM, storage memory, etc.pp ) - it's built by OEM's / Carrier's R&D department, the guys who know best of.
Whereas a Custom ROM necessarily does NOT because it gets built by 3rd-party companies/programmers associations - who think they can do it better, but don't always have the specific Android device at hand.

can't understand clearly what are you saying. I have no idea about GSI image.Is it possible to get android 11 rom from there?tell me please?
I didn't find the classic ROM for this version
GSI is generic system image, you need to follow this procedure

Why should I use a GSI ? Mojito already have custom ROMs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Yes. But this thread exists due to the following reasons: You don't wanna fear about devs stop shipping updates. You don't wanna re-flash your custom recovery / kernel after each...
