Restore drm keys - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi guys,
Because i forgot to backup my DRM keys (I know, stupid) and I just know for sure that more people make the same mistake, I was wondering if somebody could make a new mod to restore functionality, or modify this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/xperia-z1-z2-z3-series-devices-drm-t2930672, by jimRnore. I would do it myself, but I just suck at those kind of things.

Why would you need it, though? Is there some reason for you to roll back? I guess that chances for someone doing it might be really low, considering this forum is practically dead. My best advice would be just trying it yourself. As much as I wish to help you, I'm not really able to do it now and I doubt there would be anyone who could. But as I'm right now learning about porting for this device, there might be a chance in the future...

Best way to get new Update ?

I have a T-Mobile G2 and although I've read earlier today that they are 'working' on getting the update ready. I'd rather just have the normal version of Sense that everyone else has
I've tried reading through lots of topics here but I'm a bit confused what I need to do. Do I need to root my phone ? Unlock it ?
As you can probably tell I'm new to Android so I don't really know much about it
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
Yes, T-Mobile had to be dragged kinking and screaming into making an announcement. Now that they have I shall wait.
It seems the only benefit of getting the T-Mobile Upgrade is that you get to keep your warranty apart from that it's just the same but with a few T-Mobile logo's chucked in...
..and not having to go through the risks of 'hacking' your phone aswell

well even if you get it unlocked from what iam reading it make not a S**** of difference you still cannot use updates from HTC. I have rooted my tmob with custom rom seems to work ok alot faster then tmobs stock rom but i am sure there official update will be here very very soon
And pigs might grow wings and start aerial assaults...
I have no faith in T-Mobile's ability to provide a timely ROM upgrade, maybe by Xmas. I would love them to prove me wrong of course.
Go to Modaco and follow the instructions carefully to install their custom rom, if any steps in the procedure give you cause to be concerned, DONT do it.
And always make backups of your data.
And make sure you backup your data.
Yes, I know I repeated myself, but trust me, its a major point if you are going to mess around with roms.

XDA won't allow pirated stuff...
althought you never know when someone get sneaky ....
however you can't be sure whether SE is being sneaky or not...
leave SE not even sure whether google is being sneaky or not.
I prefer using rom which i can disect and understand what's going on.

Hello

Hello guys i am new here so i want to know what can i achieve and do to my ace with this site. i just joined now. and please don't call me a noob or anything because i think i am one. i heard of rooting and things like that. are they safe to do. can someone suggest me a good rom. not an outdated one. stable and good battery life? thanks in advance
This thread will help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
Rooting is just like gaining access to your system files to gain full control of your phone.
I would suggest just reading around xda for a bit before you decide to flash a different rom, people brick their ace's by not fully knowing what they're doing.

Please. For the love of god. ALWAYS READ BEFORE DOING SOMETHING. And make sure you know what you're doing.
Besides that, you'll have a blast here. Welcome!

General stock firmware question

Hi everyone, I just had a general, noobie question... Where do the stock, factory roms come from? I know, the factory, but how do *we* get them? Is it a "I know a guy at the factory and he sent it to me" thing, or is it something where we could call the support line for our provider, and get it from them? Also, is it possible to extract it from the phone itself?
I am just wondering because I bought a few cheap phones that I would love to root, but I have heard of others having problems. I just would like to have a way to restore them, if something bad happens, so I don't wind up with a paperweight...
Anyway, any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

[Q] Is it possible to port a manufacturer Rom?

Hallo guys,
So first of all, I know "why didn't you bought the hardware from the manufacturer you like" blabla. I love the S6E but what I also love is the HTC software. So my question, is IT eventually possible to port completly a manufacturer Rom?
I found some Tutorials and also trying them out right now. But have also some concerns about a hardbrick or eventually a complete phone kill. How possible might this scenario be? If we assume I port everything properly?
Thanks in advance :good:

Hi seitzik
Thanks for asking.
There are some software portions you won't be able to handle as they intensively interact with the hardware you have, which harware itself isn't portable
Modem & Booloader you probably wont be able to mess with in anyway.
Recovery & Kernel can be customized indeed but not as far as from an alien Manufacturer.
EDIT: The above pieces of software are the ones that could lead to a brick so be careful.
What leaves you with System ( / <- root and forward). Within system there are a LOT (I mean it ... a lot) of binary libraries that interact directly with devices sensors and their absence would, at least, disable its functions.
The other way around would be true ... HTC apps would require their own libraries that would not find the associated hardware necessary to work properly.
IMHO, seems I huge and painful endeavour.
EDIT: if one were interested in the looks of HTC, there are some launchers over there that could bring it closer to you.
But, as it seems, you already dressed XDA T-Shrit "DIY" and, as so, please keep us updated.
Have fun.
.
Thank you very much for your reply!
