Hello everyone, I have my US 1/8 TS, I have installed the latest patch from Loki and so far it's great, the only thing is that when I insert my sim card (carrier works as follow GSM: 1900Mhz / 3G: 850Mhz) it only gets EDGE speed, which is to slow for me, my question is, in theory, should my TS work on the 3G network? I really like my TS despite is not waterproof, but since companion doesn't work either (hope it will work) the only thing left is to be working on the 3G network. If someone got this same problem and know how to solve this, please let me know, thank you!!
This has already been covered. 850MHz 3G is not possible.
I am running @epicboy 's CM11 build. I am in Ghana, west Africa and we don't have T-mobile here. The device is unlocked but interestingly, only one mobile network here works with the phone. And even that only gives me an edge connection. Is there some kind of modem I can flash ? Or is der a hardware fix I can try? Thanks
That depends on the band of the network you're trying to use and the bands that the phone has. The network I use here in Jamaica only only gives me edge but the other network allows me to use 3g because they support the 3g band that the vibrant has. There isn't anthing you can do about it to my knowledge and even if you can do something (I think) it won't be much or make a huge difference.
Hi, i have a Moto E 2015 XT 1524, one friend bought it in Spain, but I live in Argentina and the bands are different, in Spain 3g works in 2100/900. In argentina 850/1900, so my movil only works in 2g... the question is if I flashing a new base band.... the 3g will be work?
Sorry for my bad english...
From what I understand, all Moto E models support at least 3G and some 4G. This is at the hardware level. Now your baseband is a firmware thing which will allow your device to communicate with phone towers in your region. So unless your firmware supports two or more bands, you most certainly will need to flash a new stock ROM for the region and service provider as needed.
To answer your question... If the new region you are flashing a new ROM for supports 3G, then yes you should get a 3G signal. If the signal is weak, then it may receive as 2G strength.
I am in the US where every service is at least 3G capable. So every smart phone is also 3G capable. But even still on my 4G version of Moto E I sometimes get a 2G signal. So it's hard to answer yes or no.
If you flash a ROM for Spain and get no signal, you have flashed the wrong ROM. If you flash a ROM and get 2G, then perhaps you are in a bad area with low reception.
In theory, you should receive the same signal as the people around you-Give or take a bar.
If 4G is supported in the area you want to move to and your device supports it as well, then you may very well get that signal too.
Does this help to explain it?
Thanks for your answer... In your opinion... If I flash a new stock ROM the 3g will be works? My model isn't released in Argentina yet... If I flash a firmware from UE my phone will be work?
Only if 3G is supported by the carrier in the region you wish to be. And assuming that the carrier is capable with the ROM you flash. Sometimes cross threading ROMs to a new service works. It all depends.
Thanks for your responses, the technical service told me: Bands Red 2G GSM / GPRS / EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
Red 3G bands UMTS / HSDPA / HSPA + 850/1700/1900/2100.
So I guess it will work if I change my stock rom. What I need is the XT1527 RM, is the United States and works in Argentina. How do I download it? ... And most importantly ... can I put this rom in my phone although the model is another? ...
Please... I need the xt1527 base band... Someone can help me???
Reflash a compatible stock ROM from the following link to fix your base band:

XT1527 is in this list

Hello!
I had a simillar problem with the XT1524. I also live in Argentina.
The XT model is international, so at a hardware level you have all the bands, but it is limited by the software.
The solution is (tranks to JasonPro11=:
1. Download "4G LTE Switch" from PlayStore
2. Run the app (does not require special permissions).
3. Go to "Set preferred network type” and choose LTE/GSM.
4. In the upper corner go to "Set Radio Band" and choose "USA Band".
5. Restart and enjoy LTE and 3G in Argentina...
I´ve also published this post in Grupo Android (spanish version).

Fernando
I'm in USA X829 currently on METRO PCS GSM carrier. I'm getting LTE fine but its not switching to 3G. I'm currently running linage ROM. This phone does support 3g band for my carrier. My question, is there a secret menu or something to setup a priority for LTE 3g? I know on some TouchWiz ROMs this is possible. I've also tried flashing Chinese, USA and the developer modem. Would only get LTE or H H+. Would not show 3G and wouldn't get any data till I'm in a LTE capable area.
Did a little more research H+ and H are faster than 3g. But I wasn't getting any data when they turned on
Morning, fellas. I have a problem with my Poco F1 that I couldn't solve. I have looked for information in this forum, but I can't find information about it. Let's see if any of you can help me. It's about the following: The 4G/LTE network works everywhere with the official stable global version, but if I install a custom ROM on my Poco F1 (Lineage, Oxygen, Pixel Experience, etc) the 4G LTE works everywhere BUT IT DOESN'T WORK IN MY HOUSE ZONE, where it only connects to the H+ mobile network, even installing the latest vendor firmware through TWRP. I have tried it several times with different custom ROMs / vendor firmware versions. In fact, right now I have the rom Xiaomi.eu ROM, which is supposed to be based on the official one and I'm still with the same problem, I don't get the 4G LTE in the area of my house, but it works great in the city area. I'm in Mexico, with the Telcel network that works the 4G/LTE with band 4, also known as AWS, which uses a pair of frequencies for transmission: 1700 and 2100 MHz. Anybody out there to light the way to solve this?
