There are some similar posts but they all seam to out to date, and I'd like to get some more instructions since I'm not used to the cellphone terminology and I don't want to screw my device..
What I need is to disable the filter that inhibits the GPS updates to reach your apps when you are below a certain threshold velocity (Known as Static Navigation)
Every single forum points to GPS Control SiRF Donate, but it was discontinued on 2012 and does not work for newer android versions.
Details from the cellphone:
GT-I9100 Android 4.1.2
base-band : I9100XXMS4
Kernel : 3.0.31-1497824 [email protected]#3 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 23 Compilation num: JZO54K.I9100XWMS3
GPS chipset, unknown (if someone provides instructions for how to get this) I will update it.
I also found here a link for downloading an egg that seems to have the patch to fix it but .. no documents on how to apply it or what android versions are supported..

Hello,
better late that never.
The fix you found is a patch that should be applied in recovery.
It checks which GPS library version is installed (performing ad MD5 calculation) and then tries to modify the library manually changing the static navigation flag.
The patch can be reverted (applying the same fix again).
Just for safety you can manually copy elsewhere the file under /system/lib/hw/gps.exynos4.so
Hope this helps you.
Note : I'm just sharing the work of XDA Member ryaneaepple.This has been tested on Hyperion 9 and it gives a good performance overall.Take a look at some of it's features:
