Downgrade 8.2 to 8.1 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Possible to downgrade 8.2 back to 8.1? Without root.

Yes you can do it by xiaomiflash tool.

Where can i find the fastboot firmware for 8.1.7.0 ? 8.2.10 seems worse even with factory reset

Debrand Honor 7 Chinese version (PLK-TL01H) to European Version (PLK-L01)

Hi,
I'm trying to debrand my chinese version of Huawei Honor 7 (PLK-TL01H) to European Version (PLK-L01).
As i'm already in Marshmallow version, i should do the following:
1) Downgrade to Android 5.0 PLK-TL01H B190
2) Root the phone thanks to honor 7 MultiTool
3) Flash PLK-L01 B180 version via 3btn force update
4) Flash PLK-L01 B370 version via force update.
I'm trying to rollback (first step) with the file update.app that is B190 version. But i'm already struggling:
1) Force update with *#*#2846579#*#*->select Software Upgrade->select SDCard Upgrade
2) Force update using local update option in settings doesn't work (the option is not available)
3) 3btn give me access to TWRP and not to Force update option (recovery)
I also tried to flash stock recovery, then force update works but stuck at 5% with no error message.
Any idea how to rollback to B190?
Thanks,
Flash the stock recovery of B370 (I assumed it's your current rom) by using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" command.
After that, downgrade to B300 and install PLK-TL01H B190 (if your brand is not plk-l01). If it's, first you need to install PLK-L01 B180.
Hi,
can you just be a bit more specific and detail me the steps and how to do? Thank you,

Does flashing stock recovery and force updating gets stuck at 5% using 3 button method?
If yes, I had the same problem, I booted into Android and used the *#*#xxxxxx#*#* method and it worked ok.
May be you can give that a try....

Flashing MIUI 8 Global Beta MM from LL

Hi all. My RN3 is currently on global stable MIUI 8.0.6.0 which os LL based. I want to switch over to Global beta which is MM.
I dont want to use MiFlash as I bricked my device twice earlier flashing the MM file.
Can I flash the MM recovery zip through TWRP? Should I use Alka Twrp to flash and do I need to do anything else after that? Can anyone please help me with exact steps to get MM global beta through TWRP?
Go to xiaomi.eu and get a zip that Global MM modified (only remove bloatware I think) and flash it via TWRP.
MiFlash actually rescue me from a soft-brick one week ago. MiFlash shouldn't brick your device if you doing it right.
MiFlash works perfectly with Global Stable, I don't know about Global Dev, but I have a solution if you want a official way to go Global Dev.
I will assume you are not flash any custom recovery yet, and still at stock recovery. And no bootloader unlock needed.
Flash Global Stable via MiFlash and update Global Dev via stock recovery with recovery zip.
I do it once when I go from MIUI 7 Stable to MIUI 8 Beta few months ago, and it works very well.
dev roms should b flashed with custom recovery bro..
I have nothing against MiFlash but my PC USB ports seems to be having a problem when I flash using MiFlash and it stops midway with some read error..I had that problem twice..
So I am always using Alka TWRP for flashing CM 14.1 builds from LL directly. Wanted to check if I can do that with MIUI 8 Global Dev too using their recovery zip file. Heard it causes bootloops. Please detail the steps of flashing through TWRP. Thats the safest for me

When you go from miui lp to miui mm , your bootloader will be relocked and you have to unlock it again and flash twrp.
Actually, TWRP remains, you only need to unlock it with MiUnlock in fastboot mode. And then you can go to twrp or system. Because BL is locked it causes bootloop

I tried to unlock my bootloader via
Miunlock tool.. I got my device permission through sms on 19november
from unlock mi team,
After that I m trying to unlock my device, But it's stuck at 50% (Another
account ), It's already 8days over, Still I m not able to unlock my
bootloader officially,
So if I unlocked my bootloader by fastboot miflash unofficially method,
- My Mi protection and
- My device ll void warranty??
What would be the cons if I unlocked unofficially..
You need to boot in EDL mode and then flash with MiFlash china/global dev fastboot ROM. For that you dont need to unlock BL. Then you will be able to unlock it on dev ROM.
I had exact same problem

So now i want to Backup my MIUI 8.0.6.0 Stable rom for future.. i m satisified with my stable rom..
Now if i am going to install official twrp recovery, any problem to get future OTA updates, Can i upgraded to future MIUI stable roms after installed twrp??
No you cant upgrade OTA if you have official TWRP.
It only works with ZCX TWRP, I suggest flash zcx, backup all partitions to microSD and then happy flashing.

(Ask) Downgrade MM to LP ROM without losing IMEI, Baseband, ETC

Need help here..
how to downgrade from global developer 6.12.8 to any lollipop rom without losing IMEI etc ?
i've Officially unlock bootloader and ZCX twrp installed.
i've tried flashing MIUI 7 global dev (6.4.14) and global stable (7.2.3.0) via fastboot, the result is :
1. Flashing 6.4.14 led to losing IMEI etc
2. Flashing 7.2.3.0 and my phone won't boot up, stuck on mi logo and then power off by itself
anyway, i want to downgrade to lollipop because i want to install cm13.
i've tried to install cm13 from 6.12.8, but my IMEI etc is lost.
your help is very much appreciated,
thanks in advance

Unable to boot my kenzo into a Nougat based rom. Only NXExperience 10.4 booting up.

I have the permission for unlocking my phone.
Actually, I was running NOS 7.1.2 and was having signal problems, so i decided to flash official los 14.1 firmware by the strix.
And the bootloader was eventually locked, but after running mi unlock many times, the bootloader failed to unlock.
So, i used miui 10 via mi flash (accidentally used the option clean all and lock), got error 20091, when adding my account.
Now, i flashed miui 8.0.6.0, unlocked my bootloader using unofficial method, and finally it got unlocked.
Now, I have an unlocked bootloader, twrp installed. But, whenever I am flashing a marshmallow firmware along with Nitrogen OS 7.1.2. I am getting a bootloop, even after removing the emc app boot file.
Funnily enough, after flashing NX experience 10.4 marshmallow based rom and NX radios for kenzo, I am able to use my phone, albiet on a Marshmallow.
Any help on what could have occured and what can I do now. I just want to run a 7.1.2 based rom. Which firmware can I flash.?

Who told u flash firmware with every rom ?
Firmware is flashed only once. Not with every rom u flash.
U can unlock phone on miui 10.1 stable. There is already thread to unlock phone zcx twrp method in guide discussion thread. U dont need to go 8.0.60 version to unloock phone to install twrp.
And those nx radio zip u flashed. Who using those?
just make sure you have officially unlocked on miui marshmallow
