Hey guys,
I got my RN3 a month ago and since last 2 weeks i am trying to unlock the bootloader using the official method.
I had asked MI for permission and I got it within 3 days. Now since 2 week I am trying to unlock the bootloader but I keep getting the error on MIUnlock "Couldn't verify Device".
I am using the latest MIUnlock version.
I have searched extensively for a solution to the problem but unfortunately all the work arounds are not working for me.
I have tried it on the stock ROM that the phone came with.
The latest stable global ROM from MI V7.3.7.0. MIUI7
The beta global ROM from MI MIUI8
Same error everywhere. The process stops at 50%.
I am skeptical to try the unofficial method since it could brick my phone. But may go through with it if there is no other option.
Basically I want to root the phone and flash a CM13 ROM.
Please help me out
Thanks
Mine had said the same error failed at 50% - mine shipped with miui V7.3.6.0 (some vendor firmware I guess), here is what I did to fix it.
I have the redmi note 3 pro so this will apply only for the kenzo (snapdragon version)- I am not familiar with the mediatek one.
1. Install Xiao Mi Flash (beta) , then boot the phone into fast boot mode (from power off state - hold vol down + power until you see it say fast boot.), in Mi Flash at the bottom select clean all
2. extract the kenzo "fast boot" firmware
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html (find the firmware in the list)
IE:
Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm Latest Global Stable Version Fastboot
(kenzo_global_images_V7.3.7.0.LHOMIDD_20160523.0000.23_5.1_global)
3. Select the extracted firmware folder in the Mi Flash program, hook the phone up and you should see it in the list, then click flash to flash it.. (this will erase all data)
after it finishes let it boot up it might take 10-15 minutes, then you can try to unlock it again, at this point it should pass now verification and unlock officially. - after success let it reboot again and it might take another 10-15 minutes to finish up.
(this is because it clears the phone data so it has to re-optimize all the apps).
do at own risk it worked for me but due to all the various methods the vendors use to flash this phone who knows if it will work for everyone...

hello,
i am not able to use miflash(beta) due to some qualcomm driver error because i am on 32 bit system. Instead i am using miflash 2015 10.28.0 which have 3 options like flash all, flash all except storage ,flash all except data and storage.which one to choose?
look at the image i have attached for your reference
first I suggest installing the Mi PC Suite (just to get the correct drivers installed), then try XiaoMiFlash again
http://en.miui.com/thread-92720-1-1.html
here is the Xiao Mi Flash I used.

MiFlashSetup-Beta.zip (29.53 MB, Downloads: 96818)
I had to link my phone first before the Unlock tool would work. So login into you Mi Account on the phone first.
I had the same problem because i hadnt installed the miui dev rom yet..
the only solution is flashing DEV ROM
it worked for me
Hello,
I cannot find OEM Unlock; I currently have the official Chinese developer ROM from the official MIUI pages "Fastboot".
Redmi Note 3 MTK Latest China Developer Version Fastboot File Download <--- This one
Redmi Note 3 MTK Latest China Stable Version Fastboot File Download
I have tried both versions, but not one seems to display the OEM Unlock option. I was thinking if I haven't installed a wrong ROM, as there were also

I am looking to find OEM unlock so I could install TWRP and flash a custom rom (Basically MIUI 8 in my native language that supports google play etc.) Most likely, my phone is already unlocked, because I can access Fastboot and the web service does not offer me the "Apply for Unlock" option.
So: Should I have installed a different ROM for me to see OEM unlock?
I also saw another method of flashing, again on en miui com, where you first enter the EDL mode, but I cannot do so (I haven't found a guide that works), and using the ADB application during fastboot shows me that no devices are connected.
I am quite desperate about this, as my phone, using the Chinese ROM, cannot do many things it used to do. Please help!
My MIUI version is MIUI 8 6.9.8 Beta - the MTK developer rom.
Enable developer options first, then select that option in settings - additional settings!
Open Settings> About on your Android phone or tablet.
Now scroll to Build number and tap it 7 times.
After tapping the Build Number 7 times, you will see a message “You are now a developer!”

Hello corkiejp, I already have developer options enabled. I cannot post links, so I couldn't show what I see in the dev options menu. I have USB debugging there allright, but no OEM Unlock.

Well, I have flashed it twice through fastboot, so I suppose it should be unlocked from the vendor already.
Thanks; ok then, here go my phone specs: http// imgur dot com/a/dcHO0
And my dev options: http// imgur dot com/a/MpOGg

You have a mediatek version and EDL mode is only available for snapdragon version.
You can not use adb while in fastboot mode. Use: -
Code:
fastboot devices
Check you bootloader status with: -
Code:
fastboot oem device-info

That is some pretty good info. Finally, I managed to move a bit. My device was MTK, so that is why I couldn't get EDL to work.
I tried flashing several Global MIUI 7/8 ROMs for MTK with SP Flash tool, 8.0, 7.5, 7.3 and 6.6, but they all gave me (preloader ticked/unticked) the error: BROM ERROR S_SECURITY_SECURE_USB_DL_IMAGE_SIGN_HEADER_NOT_FOUND (6045) MSP ERROR CODE.
Google revealed nothing. I tried several versions of SP Flash tool and ROMs, but to no avail...
Seriously at the end of my rope here. What do? Thanks.

Scroll down on this guide for MediaTek instructions: -
http://en.miui.com/thread-294318-1-1.html
As I have a snapdragon version, I can not give anymore assistance.
Edit: How could you be flashing global roms for MediaTek? As for as I can see there is only official china roms for that device. http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#440
Maybe try an xiaomi.eu rom.

I have tried flashing some of the MTK ports from this guy. en.miui.com/thread-336480-21-1.html. They all gave me the same error. I will try to search for some MTK Global ports at the xiaomi.eu site, but I'm afraid the result will be the same.
Yeah, same error.

I don't. I was simply confused whether I had an MTK or Snapdragon.

Did you unlock officially the first time, if yes MiUnlock tool should unlock it again for you.
Edit: remember you need to be in fastboot mode for the unlock tool.
Hi, I have a problem with the xiaomi redmi note 3 pro of snapdragon that I can not solve, the issue is that the mobile when it is left in the logo of mi.com and fails to progress, I tried with all the roms in there The official page of xiaomi with miflash, and I do not get any ideas work? , The installation process with miflash finishes correctly, so I do not know where the problem may come from, thank you.
Try flashing stock rom
flash twrp and unlock bootloader (officially or unofficially)
then try rebooting or flash a custom rom
Gl
Friend already I have installed all the developer rom the Chinese, the global and I do not boot, the bootloader has blocked, I do not know what else to do.

First of all, you should go to the whyred forum thread, not vince. You can always flash fastboot firmware which you can find at mi.com forums, use miflash tool for that, and everything should be just fine.
Hello I need help with my Note 5. Downloaded latest global rom and mi flash tool.. entered edl mode with test point and i got a proplem saying "Only nop and sig tag can be recevied before authentication.".... now i assume i need authorized mi account to flash the rom but i dont have one and i see no way of getting one. I am currently on fake rom on a global version of the phone (the one with dual camera xiaomi note 5)
What i want right now is to flash any rom that can request for bootloader unlocking since in this fake rom that is disabled and my loader is locked..
any help?

Use EDL mode if your device bricked and it works only with designated rom, china to china and global to global because in this case your bootloader is locked. And before proceeding flashing thru EDL, you have to prepare eveything properly, such as disabling driver signature enforcement and installing correct driver (QD Loader 900D)
So, have you prepared and done all those things properly? 2 days ago I just flashed my device thru EDL due to failure flashing and now my baby is waking up
