Has anyone gotten google play store working? I tried following the steps from android cowboy but I get back to back errors for google services no matter what.
On a different note, is there a way to remove the ads/special offers for free?
Thanks,
Sean

Google play is a system apps so it's gonna need a rooted or modified rom with bootloader cracked. Same is needed to disable kindle offers.
So is there any good way of getting apps beyond side loading?

Only the second part is true. You can get the Google play store apk on any device, regardless of root or not.

You can get it on the device, but it won't work. ... from experience. If you know how, ... do tell!

Try this link.
Although it says Kindle Fire HD, ignore that. Ignore step 3. Also ignore anything that says about copying to /system/app.
Just install the apps in the order he has listed then install the "Vending.apk" (That is the Google Play Store). Please also note that you will most likely not be able to install apps from it. :/

Did you ever try 1mobile market?

One way to get a lot of Android apps onto Kindle, until we get root.

Seems to me like there should be some kind of app you can run on your rooted android device to pull the apk. Then install the full version on the Kindle via sideloading.

Better results
You'll get better results in the interim from installing:
a) 1MobileMarket
or
b) Aptoide
or
c) BlackMart Alpha (shh..)
Tinkering with Google Play Store components before we have root may be an exercise in futility.
The content of the link is quiet useful to me. Thank you for sharing. I decide to buy a licence. :good:
Anyone tried SNAPPEA TO passthru GooglePlay?
I saw a utility SnapPea that seems to allow a pass thru from a PC to Kindle Fire HDX for accessing GooglePlay. As I still have not ordered my HDX I was wondering if anyone has tried this.
Thanks in advance;

The SnapPea app that I just tested is a way to control your android device from a browser on your computer, similar to AirDroid. It does not allow access to Google Play for the Kindle. What it does do is help you to install an .apk file through the browser, but then we can do that already by allowing sideload anyway. So maybe you were thinking about something else?

Same here.. Just bought a Kindle Fire HD 2013 and tried every possible attempt described on many how-to to get it rooted for Google Play. Nothing worked. Device current version is 11.3.0.5.
Tried the side load as well described for HDX. Gmail app works but that's about it.
Anyone succeeded on this version?
Thanks

I basically got pretty much every app to work except for Hangouts and Play Store. This includes everything from Voice to Gmail to Map to Google Earth to Google Plus to whatever. The key for me was to start with base configs that Android Cowboy posted, but then add bunch of dependencies from android 4.2.2 and update with latest version of backed up apps. For example, I have had to install Google Play Services 3.2.66 first and then was able to update to 4.0.31 after reboot. That version was required for Youtube to work properly (i.e. allow account sign-in). Things still crash sometimes, but it's not a huge deal.
Main thing is Youtube, Music, Gmail and Calendar are all working more or less ok. Chrome signed into my google account, but its not pulling down settings (bookmarks, open tabs from other computers, etc...). Google Plus crashes sometimes but works. Hangouts is clearly missing a dependency of some sort. I installed most things I could thing of from default Android 4.2.2 CM10.1 apps package and from backing up my phone (galaxy s4), but it's still no go. It would be nice to get that going as well. Oh well, Skype can cover most things there.

Wanted to confirm that I also have Google Voice working on the HDX 7 (since I rarely see people mentioning it as a Google App). Interestingly, I also got Talkatone working on the HDX with my Google Voice number, even though the app's FAQ plainly says that Google Voice will NOT work with it. As a result, as long as I have wifi, I can now easily use my Google Voice number to make and receive calls.
When I download apps from other sources (1mobile) they don't show up in the multi tasking bar. Anyone know of a multitasking app to fix this?

I'm using the paid version of floating toucher to access recent apps.
To get apps to show up on the stock multi tasking bar you have to open them from the stock home launcher.

Correct. The multitasking feature on the HDX is basically just the Carousel, with exactly the same shortcuts in exactly the same order. The only difference is it's hidden on the edge of the screen until you pull it up. So, just as apps launched from alternative launchers won't show up on the Carousel, they also won't show up on the HDX multitasking bar.
Hi.
I'm being tempted to buy the new Kindle Fire HDX because of the build quality, amazing speakers and amazing specs. What puts me off is the lack of Google Play store but my main concern is not being able to download and sign-in to Google services and apps such as Youtube, maps, Email, etc.
What alternative ways (or third-party stores) that i can download so i can use and sign-in to most (if not all) of Google services apps that i normally need and have?
Please advice.
Thanks.
Take a look at the forums. At this point you can flash your HDX so that it's basically Android 4.2.2. Thing like Google Apps will all work. I check Gmail and use Google Drive daily on my HDX.
HDX is the best 7 inch tablet on the market right now. Its only real flaw being Fire OS can be remedied by anyone even remotely competent.
1mobile app store works, and you can download most if not all of the google apps through that. All that's really missing is the play store.
My wife has the old Kindle Fire HD and i have downloaded the 1Mobile market plus Good e-reader and Aptoide successfully. I found most (but not all of them) Google apps there but i noticed that you can't sign-in to them especially Youtube. Gmail is no big deal as i can check my mails on my phone or Mac. And there is no Google+ which is a shame. Unless i'm blind or its there now but last night i can't find it.
I dont' want to root my Kindle Fire HDX as im not familiar in the first place and i am very satisfied with just sideloading apps and going through third-party app stores. If there is another way to download the Google apps & services then ill buy the Fire HDX today.
So, apart from the ones i mentioned above is there another way(s) to look for .apk files of my favourite Google apps like Google+, Youtube, Maps, Translate, Drive, etc.? Please??

I am not desperate but it would be awesome if one can install the Google Play store on a Kindle Fire without rooting.

Alright Guys I am writing it pretty much brief explaining what happened with my kindles
It started when I came on this forum and tried to root my kindle using the method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59156161&postcount=56
After I tried it on my both kindles and successfully rooting them, I downloaded and installed the google play store app and it worked like a charm and I was pretty much happy for it. But the Issue started when all of sudden the apps which were linked with google app store i.e clash of clans stopped working. I opened the play store app and tried to install any random app but it does not downloads and installs it. Then after 5 6 unsuccessful attempts, I just reset the kindle. It does not affected the kindle and I reset for like 3 - 4 times but nothing worked. Then what happened? (adding the picture too) That kindle does turns on but it shows different welcome screen where I can choose the language and after choosing language, it says me to connect to wifi and then nothing comes up. There is no navigation buttons i.e Home button and Back button and no main screen coming. Then I tried to open silk browser going into applications and downloading the 1mobile market, I installed ES file explorer and checked, it shows that the kindle is still rooted. I added the firmwares to the kindle to check if that works but no it does not. Moreover I tried to connect the kindle with ADB but it says no device listed over there
Now this was the story regarding Kindle Fire HDX 7"
I came back from work and was trying to use my kindle HDX 8.9" and exactly same issue is coming to it. I tried to open clash of clan app and again it shows me blank screen. I tried to clear the cache of app and restarting the tab but the problem still does persists. Now I am in no mood to repeat the same steps what I did with my HDX 7"
So guys if you people can help me in fixing this issue would be thankful to you all

pheww its a waste bro
now its bricked completly
The only thing which was messing that SetupWizard.apk

the last try which i did ended up in
And seems to be the end
I prefer the Kindle app from the Play Store to the one installed by default on the Fire tablet, because a lot of my ebooks weren't bought from Amazon, and Amazon insists on classifying these as docs rather than books, which means I need to use the Docs app to read them. Whereas the Play Store Kindle app handles Docs and Books in the same app together.
I have a Fire HD 6 tablet, rooted and with Gapps. I'm thinking maybe I could use Titanium Backup to uninstall the stock Kindle app, and then install the one from the Play Store - will that work, or is the stock Kindle app too heavily integrated with FireOS to safely remove? I've disabled the stock launcher, so the integration with that shouldn't be an issue.
my father has a Fire 7 HD that I rooted for him changed the launcher to nova, installed playstore and froze any system updates. I think it's on a late version of gingerbread or thereabouts.
installing the regular kindle app doesn't work, it asks questions about being an authorised device etc. so is there a version of it old or modded that will work OK ?
I installed Google Play Services/Store, which works perfectly fine, but afterwards I could no longer open the Kindle App. I only installed Google Play Services because I wanted to be able to read from the Google Play Books App as well as the Kindle App since this new tablet screen is much larger than my LG G5 screen. Well, now the Kindle App doesn't open at all. It starts to open but immediately crashes back to the home screen. The preview page, for reading, shows what books I have but I can't open them from there either. I've tried clearing the cache manually in every app on the tablet. I've tried restarting. I've googled many different phrases to find help on this but so far I haven't found any type of thread that discussed this problem. I'm out of ideas.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Note there are (at least) to variants of the Kindle App:
- stock Kindle designed to run on FireOS (only)
- scaled back version available via the Play Store designed to run on 'generic' Android;
You may want to try installing the Play Store variant to see if that resolves the issue while retaining a sufficient number of core features for your needs. Otherwise, a factory reset should fix the problem by removing the Google Play store and any associated detritus that may be interfering with the operation of the stock Kindle app.
