Hi, my current internal storage is almost full (80%) and that has made my phone quite slow. I dont have nothing major in internal storage except the apps and whatsapp data. All pictures and music in on the 8gb memory card. I was wondering if i could transfer all my apps to the memory card. Is it possible to do that and install new apps on memory card rather than internal storage?

I have an 8 gig SD card in my Atrix. Well, it's filled up already, but I have almost all of my internal storage still available. I looked at the card, and it's mainly filled with apps. How can I transfer them over to the phone's storage, so it will free up the SD card?
SD card you can put music, apps, pics etc.But i see two other storage Phone storage total space 10.48GB available 10.45GB and Internal storage available 1.9GB.Whats the difference between phone and internal storage.
I believe the smaller partition is the system partition. The larger is considered the sd card. Then there's the external sd card which is what you mentioned as being for music etc...
I came from an Optimus One with measly internal storage. I never bothered with it though since it would not mount when I connect to usb and I always used link2sd to expand my internal memory. But now with my Droid Bionic, I am running out of space on the internal memory and I can't seem to force the apps to use external memory.
Example: When I used to download manga on my O1, it usually went directly to external storage. Now I have to set it to download to external before downloading anything. This is a minor problem since it can be moved...
Example2: Apps that install to Android/data on the internal memory. How do I get these apps to install to external memory only? I'm running out of space now. I see no option to move data to external memory... There are 2 Android/data folders I can see though. One in external and another in internal.
Is there some way I can move any SD card data to external memory directly and have it still work? My O1 never ran out of space since it used the external memory for everything but it seems like my Bionic doesn't use the external memory except for looking at certain files (movies, music, etc.).
Hi!
I have installed MIUI on my L9, and 16gb sdcard.
I see very strange thing. When i use memory of my External sdcard and try to download/delete something from here (ex. apk 40mb) my INTERNAL memory gets more free space.
This is normal?
I didnt see divide of types of files on EXTERNAL memory card in options of memory. Only see this with internal card.
Dunno what is this but have problems with installing or downloading somehing items on external card, becouse internal card think i download to internal memory.
sorry for my bad eng.
please help, i cant install bigger programs, even backup from external card is see in memory of internal card.
My phone in internal memory have only 500-600mb storage busy, but phone "think" and show me i have only 700mb from 2.5gb of fre space becouse other files on external memory phone thinking is on internal.

Click to collapse
yes you can move app to sd card,
there is also an option to set Ext sd card as your internal storage.
