My LCD got all cracked up in my pocket so I needed a new LCD.
I ordered the LCD from blackberry8100parts and it got within a week. I installed it today and it works like new. I video tapped parts of me tearing apart my wing to put on youtube.. It's easy do take apart if you take your time with it. I didn't get the plastic opening tool they said it was suppose to come with but I had one at work.. It's not necessary if you just run a small precision flathead around the seams after removing the screws.
Thanks for the link.. they had the cheapest LCD I could find on the net.

defective screen try send it back for new one
I cracked my LCD. I purchased a new one from seller LCD4PDA. I got the screen for $61 shipped after $5 Ebay Coupon. I used the tools and instructions included, and also the Herald/Wing Service Manual to assist in the process. It took a little time, I was being very cautious not to break anything. I would highly recommend disassembling/assembling the phone two times just to get a feel for it first. It's not too hard though, and the screen works great!
sorry to push that older thread, but i also have a cracked TFT-screen. does anybody know where to get a replacement TFT with touchscreen in germany?
or europe with less shipping costs?
thanks in advance!

these guys are good but i noticed the screen they sent me has developed a dent in the middle where i guess the screen is used the most. like a contour in the middle.
the reason i think its the "type" of screen they sent me is because i haven't had this problem with any other screens that I've had for longer.
i cracked my wing's screen and when it cracked it also cracked the touch screen part does anyone know a good site with reasonable prices?...i was gonna send it to HTC but they asked 150 nd thats way too much
my touchscreen got cracked, i ordered a new digitizer for 12 euros, this was including shipping.
does anyone have experience with replacin the digitizer apart from taking the complete lcd out?
you tube link
i followed this tutorial and it went very easy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN6cKRM2F1M
ty, thats the one i used
unfortunately it only replaces the lcd screen and not remove the digitizer from it. But it helped me almost all the way
now that i have my lcdscreen seperated from my digitizer i found out the connector is different so im stuck anyway..

That is just for the digitizer part, not for the whole screen, like how they worded the listing, you can tell because you can see through the screen. most times the digitizer is fine but the lcd below is cracked and has to be replaced
Hi all,
I'm looking for HTC Hero digitizer touch screen (not LCD replacement) but no luck so far.. the device has a cracked outer screen but besides that everything is fine, touch operations works fine as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I needed one for a ppc a while back and managed to get a genuine one on ebay. Have a look on ebay and make sure you buy a genuine one. Some seller are selling dismantled parts like the digitizer even though they may be second hand, but still genuine.
good luck
I need one too.
I can't post outside links yet but I found two shops that have touch screen digitizers for HTC Hero.

They're available from a wide number of Amazon sellers as well. My dilemna is since there's no obvious physical damage, just one area that is always dead when I try to hang up a call However, if I switch to landscape mode with keyboard out, I can hang up, but that's kind of a pain.
My dilemna is How do I determine if the problem is caused by the digitizer or the LCD panel OR possibly both?
i repaired my hero just yesterday...had the same problem of you, changed the digitizer and now everything is working...the only reason i tried to repair the phone is because on ebay you can find the digitizer to just 10$, so even if it isn't the main reason of your problem, the cost is very limited and you can have fun disassemblying-reassembling your phone
Can someone help me find a replacement Digitizer?
I bought my phone off of eBay a while back and it had scratches on the screen, now I want a new screen. I thought about getting one from eBay, but someone told me that those were cheaply made and came from China. And that if I tried replacing one myself It could maybe not work correctly or I could get some particles in between the screens.
Is there a place that I can get it repaired?
Also my phone won't charge anymore unless I put it in a certain position...
i got mine from ebay recently. well, i got it for T7373 international version tp2 instead.
what i would advise is, avoid from getting those cheap digitizer. they work sucks with finger. now i only able to use my tp2 with either stylus or fingernail which is seriously terrible.
and i changed it all myself. weirdly is, the digitizer need some glue to glue it to the tp2. a bad experience i had anyway.
sending my set back to my distributor for cleaning up mess soon.
I bought a replacement verizon digitizer last week

Paid $22.00 plus $10 to ship
Hello,
I'm desperate for some help. My girlfriends Lumia 920 got a cracked glass the other day, so I ordered a brand new OEM digitizer and adhesive and fitted it yesterday. All seemed well. Anyway last night we noticed that the soft keys don't light up anymore.
I assumed they scavenged light from the LCD screen but maybe they don't? Are they on a connector? Are they LED's? Has anyone else made this mistake before and knows how to rectify it, or is it a defective digitizer
Any help?
same issue
I have the same problem , mine worked fine then after replacing the glass/digitizer the touch and the lights at the bottom don't work. with the first one I thought it was bad , so they sent a second one. it does the exact same thing . so either the phone got messed up or maybe the replacements use a new chipset that does not jive well with the phone .if anyone needs parts for their phone I will part this one out. I got a new one from a pawn shop for $150 so it was not worth replacing the whole chaise to fix it ($99 online) . the digitizer/glass is brand new , maybe it will work for someone else and the battery, camera and lcd work fine as do all the buttons and charge ports.
Hey fellas!
I've been using my opx since it came out and I would never pick a different phone, but recently my front glass cracked after falling. The display is fine, but every service I went to tells me they only replace both. Is there a way to replace just the broken glass? Also where could I get a spare one? Is Aliexpress good enough?
TIA
Same thing here mate. You can buy just the screen, but replacing just the screen is very hard. I haven't bought the screen myself so I can't help you with that.
The process will be pretty similar to this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhSAmai8OKk .
I wouldn't recommend trying to repair it yourself.
