Hello,
First I want to thank everyone that contributed in development of software for our Samsung Galaxy Ace II. Especially Team Canjica, Rox and many many others!
Jolla, the producent of Sailfish OS, has just released the LibHybris 1.0, which allows the devs to build the Sailfish OS for ANY Android device running CyanogenMod 10.1. It is THE BIG CHANCE for our device!
Sailfish OS is a lot faster and smoother OS than Android. Our device with just 768 MB RAM and dual core Novathor CPU should perform a lot better on Sailfish than on Android. And it is possible to run Android apps on Sailfish too!
http://www.jollausers.com/2014/07/sailfish-os-hardware-adaptation-dev-kit-release-1-0/
So I want to ask our great community to try to port Sailfish OS for our device. We have the very good working CM 10.1, so we should try! It can be the second life for our device
I hope we will start the great discussion and the devs will be helpful
Please, port this amazing system to Ace II
Cheers
I dig this! If someone wanted to develop this i would be happy to try this os.

Even though I'm migrating to the fastest android phone ever, if SailfishOS is released for the Ace 2, I would be a VERY happy man! Please make it happen! Many of us don't use the Ace 2 for 3D gaming anyway, so a lack of apps on SailfishOS is negligible! :good:
Any response from developers?
Well, i do not know how it's done, but cm 10.1.x is quite slower, than 10.2's, so wouldn't be lost what is gained?
Only the kernel from CM 10.1 is used for drivers purposes. Anything else is just pure Sailfish, and it should be A LOT MORE FLUID AND FAST than any Android version.

...if you say so..ok, thx for clarification. but you know , that newer kernels(10.2 minimum) are main source of speed of actual roms? Even not roms itself, you know..

I dont think that kernel in CM 10.1 is a lot different than kernel from CM 11. We must ask @Rox, but I think that backporting some features from CM11's kernel wont be too hard. Lets hope so

I think they are a realist myself, as this is an old, yet highly dev supported, phone, and due to it's rubbish GPU, will highly benefit from SailfishOS, as 3D games are useless on this device.

Also, this.
Supposedly most android apps should be compatible too so this should be a fun experience
No one is interested in porting it?
up
As far ad I know, android apps work only on the original jolla phone. Porting does not support them yet.

Hi don't get me wrong IS looks great but don't know about devs.. To be honest here is lack of drugs and I think that for android L wait more people than for this.... On the other hand would be use full to contact someone from other teams that have recently ported the latest versions to ace2 if they don't plan to do it again... But this is not you have asked for.... I know. But the community for android is bigger sorry for that and clean one runs the smoothest yeah not clean but with lot of use full features like from carbon.... But if there is a def that likes this more than android l... Would be happy to try also this out.... But have to pedal for community too to consider the total demand over local projects
just my guess, android 5.0 needs updated binary whilst the sailfish need only binary up to cm 10.1
so there will be a bit performance gap because of driver needed
but well that was just a wild guess :cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:
Excuse me, I'm new here and this is the first time I ask something in the XDA Community. So I'm sorry if I have a bad English or question of a newbie...
I like to experience Custom Roms before. I tested it on my Oneplus One and experienced the Lineage OS (because Cyanogen is no more). I like Lineage OS, but I saw that Lineage OS is still an Unofficial build for Poco. and the downside of Lineage OS is the camera app (for my opinion).
So what I want to ask is what is the best and official custom rom for Poco F1? including the best android security, great developers that give update frequently and the best performance. I think that the Resurrection, Lineage, Pixel Experience and AOSP is the best candidate (because I love stock android). but can you tell me which one is the best among others? (frequent update and great community is what I'm searching for, at least the ROM can be fixed if there is a bug, and fast)
Thank you for your time.
disclaimer: i'm awaiting delivery of the device!!!
from what i've read, for full features you need to stick with MIUI sripped back/debloated, for now at least. there's miui.eu which is debloated or globe rom @ rom builder where it's based on the stripped back EU rom but some extra tweaks customised by us (by selecting expert mode and selecting what to keep/remove. further debloating may be required, can't check as i'm yet to take delivery of the device, but i'll go with globe until LOS is more accomplished. hope it helps
By far LineageOS 16!
Stable and solid build, and important for our device a well implemented notch.
No strange glitches, Bluetooth works better than stock miui and with audiofx a more dynamic sound over Bluetooth.
Have no experience with Pixel experience so far, nitrogen os seems to be nice to.
And carbon ofc

But hotspot isn't working on Los with security, a deal breaker for me. Hopefully soon it'll be fixed.

so theres a MIUI without bloatware you mean? is it affect the performance? i just upgrades to miui 10 global beta. and i must say, the only thing that exciting is you can adjust the call and media volume separately if you are playing games and simultaneosly calling someone.
other than that, pretty decent stuffs like new UI and other things. the most bothering thing is sometimes the notch area glitch out that preview your home wallpaper while playing game or open app that doesnt support fullscreen mode.
get globe rom customized trust me you'll love it. its miui w/ stupid bloats

I personally adore Lineage. but I am not sure because it is an unofficial build. so is it a workaround that make Lineage works with Poco? or do you recommend that I just wait for the Official build from Lineage?

It is unofficial but the developer is part of the LineageOS team.
So nothing to fear.

Haven't tried LOS but I have been using the nitrogen os rom and its very stable. No force closes and battery life is as good as the stock rom.

Okay I will give Lineage a try. Thanks guys for the answers and discussions.
LineageOS 16 is rock stable but it isn't the fastest (Antutu about 224.000). I've tried out NitrogenOS Pie Beta and it's more fluid (Antutu about 267.000) and everything works fine. At least I gave Liquid Remix 10.0.1 a chance. There are more settings options else it's very stable and fast.
Hi Guys!
After one year on MIUI I think I'm ready to switch to a custom ROM on my Pocophone.
My top priorities for a ROM are: Stability, Battery Life and Security. I do not need any particular features since I do not play on the phone, just normal Email/browsing/youtube usage.
I read that at the moment the 2 most complete and reliable ROMs are LineageOS and PixelExperience, I know that the evaluation is always subjective but what would be the best ROM to go considering my needs?
Thanks a lot!
I use crDroid
I use omni for the best stability
Crdroid!
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions given so far! =)
Hassle free. Go Pixel Experience. Im on it. Using it with no problem.

Try CrDroid and Havoc (22Aug19 build) ONCE, and You won't go back to PE ; ever!
Thanks a lot guys! I've decided to try PE first and so far I'm very pleased with it, Slick, simple and without too many whistles!
Thanks to everyone =)
Same dilemma as yours

So I just got a new Poco F1 and have the exact same confusion.
I am a student and work part time as well. So I need reliability here.
PE 9.0 and PE Plus both are listed are stable but how has your experience been?
Have you tried Cdroid yet?

So, after a few weeks on PE I can say that the experience is quite pleasant, the rom is slick and with just the minimal selection of tool you might need everyday.
Concerning stability, the ROM is generally stable and fast, however it is not a rock-solid experience like MIUI (from time to time you stumble on some bugs/crashing apps).
Battery life is ok (worse than MIUI out of the box) but tweaking the apps restrictions and battery optimization it becomes just as good as the original ROM.
So the bottom line is IMHO:
-If you're looking for stability and a seamless experience, go with MIUI (11 is also coming out now) and maybe get google camera.
-If you are interestend in a slick ROM with minimal tools and you can afford to reboot/wipe the cache from time to time, than PE can be used as daily driver without any issue.
Cheers!
+1 for crDroid, its quite similar to PE, but has some nice customisation on it. Gcam works fine on it too. I'm on the latest 9.0 build, going to wait a whilte before jumping to crDroid 6 / android 10
PE has way to much of google apps. Cr and other are also good choises. If you can get any rom working with microg only you would have awesome device
So from what I see, all OP top-tier devices already have Oxygen 11, as well as OP Nord.
OP Nord's instagram page is even sharing some stories asking us users if we're enjoying Oxygen 11 so far... Like... Are we a joke to them?
I feel like I shouldn't expect much Oxygen support for OP N10.
Also, from what I remember on OP X, Oxygen died on Android version 5 but there was a LineageOS ROM based on Android 7.1.
So, that being said, which ROMs have you guys already tried out?
I hope an official LineageOS build comes out, do you know if there's some way I can donate a good amount of money to encourage their community into building a Lineage for OP N10?
Hey folks,
Joining in on the aftermarket world after a few years. I recently got the nord 2 and there is some impressive work going on already
Just wanted to touch base with the community to understand the kind of enthusiasts who have this device.
Q; are you using stock OOS or Custom roms?
Q: would you all be interested in some fresh roms, say lineage 20/ aospa topaz, etc?
If there are even a few folks interested and have some time to test out some initial builds, lets talk!
My daily driver since 7 months. Using stock, rooted (Magisk + LSPosed). Switching back to my old OnePlus 7pro though, which I prepared for murena.io (privacy is a great thing).
For that reason I would love to see LOS coming to the Nord 2, because that means that we'll have Murena one day too, probably.
Been using it for nearly a year now. Will keep stock until it stops getting updates.
I would like to see a Lineage build for Android 14 and later for it. Will definitely use it.
Seems like a solid phone that will last me a lot of time.
Would definitely appriciate LineageOS for this device. The stock system is driving me nuts.
Use it as daily driver for about year. Stock oos 11 latest update, rooted through magisk, no TWRP, 0 problems.
I like it a lot. But android security patch became too old, so thinking to switch to LineageOS, Elixir or Pixel experience. Hope that the few bugs without resolve will be fixed very soon. Mostly reports about alert slider and stock cam. Not severe, one can live without the slider and use one of the gcam forks.

I think I saw it on 4pda.ru forum but was a bit outdated. Stability and security are essential for mi as I use my phone for work and biz ( as all of us ).
Just saw it published on July. Maybe need to contact devs. Unfortunately don't have enough spare time for hobby development....
Using stock and rooted rom, still on Android 11 though because 12 just plain out sucks.
I would very much love a good stable rom. I come from the Oneplus 3 where ROM support was just simply amazing. Most current roms are busted, suck when it comes to Camera quality or simply crash. Proper support for the Nord 2 is a wet dream at the moment.

It partially works, something's broken because it would often just not switch profiles when the slider was used. It's a good rom but not as stable / smooth. Also, camera quality sucks because it doesn't have the proper drivers / app.

Not so wet dream All GSI based ROMs are in advance states. Being this mediatek device and lack of some drivers make the things worse. Also there is not a lot of testing for this device... Imho.
