Whatsapp convo "stuck" underneath the display - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know the title sounds crazy, so let me explain.
I've had this issue for quite a long time now but never gotten into it.
Basically, when I open a white image or whatever light colored app/background, I can recognize a Whatsapp conversation in transparency, almost like it's stuck underneath the display.
So I tried opening the recovery to clear cache and I noticed the same exact thing when the recovery was loading (light blue background).
You can find a picture below. The top portion is my phone's display while the bottom is a screenshot found on Google (cause I needed the old layout for Whatsapp chats).
By the way, the phone I'm having trouble with is a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge updated to Android 7.0 (the update didn't fix the issue).
Thanks to everyone in advance

This is known as image retention or burn-in. It is a characteristic of OLED/AMOLED displays when the same images are held at high brightness/intensities for long periods of time. There are apps/tools/methods which claim to reduce, remove or in some way fix the problem but please do your research as there is a good chance they can make the problem worse or introduce new problems. I have not investigated further other than methods of prevention. Also, organic light emitting diodes/pixels have a given lifespan. The screen will lose brightness and color accuracy over time. Blue diodes will fade first, then green, then red.

[Q] Screen problems?

I bought the phone about 2 hours ago (I had the last version too). However, just before I did that I came here to read a little bit about the gps (to see if it was working or not) and then I saw many threads about screen problems and others... so I started to get a bit worried about getting the phone but I did it anyway
Well... during a quick test of the phone I saw that in my contacts and in the task manager screens appears to be a problem (I think)... the left top icon (contacts) has a small color degradation in its border from dark blue to light blue. The Task manager has the same thing but on its right side icon. Its pretty small but I am not sure if its decoration or just a problem of the phone in those 2 "screens" cause I dont see any more color problems elsewhere.
Does anyone else knows what else should I check (most common problems)? To check them out and see if got them too so like that I could go to the store and get a replacement.
Thanks a lot guys!!!!!!

Hi mate,
Don't worry..it's not a screen fault but a feature..
when you see the little colour degradation on "Contacts" and "task manager" means that you can slide left or right to see other features.
Just test it your self, open the contacts application and slide where you see the colour degradation.
Your screen is good, you don't need to go get a replacement.

Screen Burn in

Noticing some image persistence today after going into settings. I could see the google play icon that has always been in the same spot. I could also see a couple of others. Seems to be going away now that I have a settings open for a few mins.
Guess I need to shorten the screen on time. Currently set at 30min. Had this TP since December.
the lcd isnt really capable of screen burn in. its only image persistence. mobile displays are bad about this. it isnt helping if you are keeping it on a 30 minute time out though.
That is a first one for me aswell because my display doesn't turn off unless i click the lock screen button. Post a picture to help see and fix the problem hopefully. usually how to fix it involves just putting a black or white picture on it for a good hour or so....but that's on a very old TV rather than the touchpad so like i said its a first for me
how about install "Dead Pixel Detect and Fix" from market to rapidly flash the screen to get rid of the burn in?
Here is a few ways to fix it:
1.Turn off the monitor for extended periods of time. It can be as little as several hours or it could be as long as several days.
2.Use a screen saver with a rotating image and run it for extended periods of time. The rotating color palette should help remove the persistent image but it could take a long time.
3.Run the screen with a single solid color or bright white for an extended period of time. This will cause all of the crystals to be reset at a single color setting and should erase any previous image persistence

Cubot Note S - Vertical white lines on the Screen (software error)

Hi, I bought new "Cubot Note S", what I discovered in the first use was "display whitish" lines lying vertically, when set to high brightness.
At first, I thought it was hardware problem, but later I observed, actually those white(ish) lines are present when:
- screen brightness is higher than about 70%
- and when display is showing darker colors (mainly for notification bar)
- or when using camera.
And also, when moving notification bar up and down, those "whitish" lines moves sideways!
I found one solution for this problem, with the help of "MiraVision" user mode settings, by altering "Color temperature, brightness, and contrast".
You can see the problem and solution in the VIDEO.

Questions:
1) Is it really software error, or hardware problem?
2) If it is a software problem, is there any stable custom rom for "Cubot Note S" ?
Thanks!

Send the phone back to where you got it for a refund.
Many traits with the cubot note s include -
Doesn't boot up and hangs.
Boots up and the sim icon is missing.
Screen burn.
Boots up and sdcard missing.
Problems connecting to wifi.
The ota updater is dangerous and should never be used.
It has a couple of malware apps in system.
Volume button not working as it should.
There are also lots of pro's of course so it is worth £50, but only £50, no more than this.

Green Display Problem

Sometimes when turning on my Display it looks green and with horizontal lines all over it. Screenshot doesn't capture it. It has been like that for a while but just got way more frequent. A reboot fixed it and i noticed now sometimes also just trying again to turn on the display sometimes fixes it as well as charging it while doing so.
Since it got more frequent theres also this high pitch sound when i turn on the display and the green distortion happens. I have no energy saving mode enabled. Anything i can do or do i need a new phone/ display if it stays like this?
It's a known issue I guess try to keep the brightness high, it happened to me some months ago but for some reason it's gone now. If you need to lower your brightness (ex at night) use some sort of app (like twilight) which actually puts a layer on the display (the screenshots are darker)

Strange spot on my phone display

Hi all,
First of all I KNOW how to use google and I checked different messages about spots on android phones. My case is different: I see not some abstract spot on phone display, but light sky blue circle and inside it 60. The whole thing is barely visible. At fist I even thought it could be some information displayed by some app, or some bug caused by me (I am game developer), but after factory reset damn thing is still there. Any advice?
