Imei wiped after latest stable nougat flashed - Elephone P9000 Questions & Answers

The Imei 1 and 2 got wiped after flashing Latest stock rom, how do i get imei back?

You have to use Maui meta. On needrom you can find it. Some forum users have explained how to fix this in the p9000 nougat topic.

unfortunately the device doesnt get recognized, and i think i have all the right drivers installed since i can use sp flash tools with no issues, the ohone just boots to elephone logo and hangs there, maiui meta never seems to find the device...

I had the same issue. I reflashed a stock ROM with spft but formated the phone also by selecting "download +format" in the drop down menu in spft. The phone will still have wrong imei numbers but Maui meta can detect the phone after flashing and formatting. It is maybe because the nvram is corrupted.

Iocean X7 Elite Bricked ('BROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL(4032))

I have just received my Iocean X7 Elite and was about to install a new rom. I had successfully rooted the device and then was trying to flash
the recovery with SP Flash Tool.
After the recovery flashed my phone refuses to turn on I believe its somehow bricked but have no idea how this could have happened. I did
format flash i only downloaded the recovery to the device.
In Device Manager when i plug the phone it it either shows up as 'DA USB VCOM Port' or 'MTK USB Port'.
When I try to use SP Tool to flash the stock Rom back onto the device I get an error saying 'BROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL(4032)'
I have no idea what to do next can someone help me.
I have tried what this thread suggests:
bump
same as u..but differ phone model.(N9589)
had a few upgrd...til the recent brick it.
Tried a few version of flash tool and still the same

Same problem here - tried to install stock firmware and got this error...
these are common problems when flashing MT65xx based phones,
ie : error 4008, 4xxx, 5xxx whatever those codes mean, no explanation after extensive search on google.
once I managed to flash this one phone successfully, but I don't know exactly what I did.
as long as I recall, I tried to delete the whole flashtool folders, re-extract them, let the phone cool down a bit
and oh, try to press volume up, or down button (varies on devices) while connecting to USB, once the flashing progress bar starts, release the button.
In the flashtool option, at the OPTIONS-->DA DOWNLOAD ALL-->, check WITHOUT BATTERY.
and in the option, DA DOWNLOAD ALL--> SPEED, check DO NOT SWITCH SPEED.
try flashing your phone without battery inserted, it works many times for me.
NOTE : BEWARE, flashing your MTK65xx based phone, sometimes this tool tried to REMOVE YOUR PHONE's IMEI information, so take caution !
I haven't managed how to prevent IMEI removal when flashing those phones, because I'm not a developer.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply, but this doesn't help... ;(
Anyone?
I think I figured out that the error above means you are trying to flash an incorrect ROM. Make sure you are using the right one and also make sure you're using the latest version of sp flash tool.
Once I downloaded a later version of the flash tool it began installing the ROM but then a different error appeared.
So I formatted the nand with the sp flash tool.
Then I flashed the stock ROM again and it worked
Formatting it seemed to make the errors go away even though its advised not to do so.

I tried reinstalling drivers, also tried other drivers, but this doesn't help...
I've had the same problem with the following installation Sp Tools
SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1316.0.150

Iocean X7 Youth
I don't have the same problem but i flashed the latest version of official rom for iOcean x7 Youth : 03 july 2013 : and wtf no more internal sdcard only the rom stockage. So i can't download anything, i can't use camera .
On the official website, I read that before flashing the 20 may 2013 rom one and the 03 July 2013 one, your baseband version have to be 23/04 or higher( you have to flash the 23/04 official rom first). This is only avalaible for the YOUTH version.
So tomorrow i will try what i said below to see if i have internal sd card again.
noob question::: since the iocean x7 young and turbo are the same phones...only different clock rates...will flashing the firmware for turbo on iocean x7 young work??assuming that the mtk6589T and mtk6589 are the same chipset only different clock rates??

Clearly: Wrong driver. I had also this error. SPflash tool did not readback. I did not flash anything! I fixed this by showing the nonpresent devices in devicemanagement (google for show nonpresent devices for explanation)
Go to com ports, and delete all mediatek drivers except preloader driver. Now start over. It can help if you choose the same usb port where you had success last time.
SP flash tool shows in the statusbar which driver it is using.

Lenovo S820 MTK6589 bricked

Hello, I bought a lenovo s820 from aliexpress (im from romania) and i noticed after a few mins of use that 3G data won't work. Our carriers have wcdma 900/2100 and the phone specifies that it supports wcdma2100. I thought maybe the CN version (china) won't work so I found a tutorial how to flash the ROW version (rest of world). It succesfuly flashed and now my phone won't turn on. Device manager detects it as MTK USB Port but nothing. When I try to flash other firmwares of recoveries with SP Flash tool I get the get dram error.
Is there anything left to do or did I ruin this phone? I find it weird that it's still detected by PC so I hope there's still a chance.
Please help, otherwise I'm seriously screwed.
NEW UPDATE: i found a random mt6589 preloader, and i remembered i have my scatter file from when the phone worked (if only i had backuped the whole phone...) so after i select the original scatter and that random preloader i've got from the internet, the phone starts but only shows this: tool dl image fail and uboot is blocking by dl info

it because when you flash ROM using sp flash tool, you don't tick DA DL ALL with Checksum option on the right upper. that why you got that error. try re flash but don't forget to tick the option

I've flashed my Lenovo S820 CN 4g version with S820_ROW_S108_130603 firmware, using SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1316.0.150 on an Windows XP 32-bit machine, using a universal "hama" USB cable and i was stucked on a boot loop and got the same message like above. Then i've used same ROM, same tool on a Windows 7 machine and the genuine Lenovo USB cable and worked like a charm.
For those who get this message:
1) Don't use SP Flash Tool v3.xxx on Windows XP 32-bit.
2) Use the genuine Lenovo USB cable (the cable that came with your phone).
P.S. Sorry for my bad english! Take care!

[Q] Several issues

Hi,
after ROM flashing (ROM that was working fine for me earlier - MIUI V5 5.1.30 , Android 4.2.2 )
i started to get this in recovery :
unable to mount /emmc
unable to mount internal memory
unable to mount /data
+ i cant even wipe dalvik cache.
after first boot, the ROM is stuck at boot logo ( MI logo).
I thought its a bad flash so I flashed a ROM that I got the phone from dealer with (MIUI 4.4.25). Phone turned on, but the IMEI numbers are gone.
When I run Mobileuncle tools / Engineer mode , the CDS Information option is greyed out, its not active.
So I wanted to recover the IMEI via MTK Droid Root & Tools . But when I plug in the device to the PC, the PC doesnt recognize it.
Also, my phone doesnt recognize the SD card (in the OS, in the recovery its everything OK).
Can you help me with this?
THANK YOU

Hi. What MIUI did you flash ? What version ?
What you have to do is to enter again in recovery with vol+ vol- and power button pressed all together!
Wipe everything except SD Card!
Remove your SD Card and go to some laptop or PC with SD Card reader, copy your old MIUI on it.
After copy and wipe go to your phone and insert your card.
Start your phone directly in recovery and now your SD Card should be recognized by the phone.
Reflash your old MIUI.
Good Luck.
Tell us if you have problems!

that will be a big problem if phone cannot be detected on sp flash tool anymore. make sure phone is turned off and the sp flash is waiting for your device after you insert cable to phone.
i made some progress, MTK Droid Root n Tools recognized the phone.
i should be able to flash the stock now, right?
EDIT: I managed to flash S135 (130917) - stock chineese rom and internal storage, USB storage, SD storage - all seems to be functional and loaded. So this issue seems to be figured out.
EDIT: flashed desired MIUI 4.4.25 Multilang via CWM, all storages operational. Im on fixing the IMEI now.
--------------------------------------
EDIT: I cant restore the IMEI.
I tried imei.exe trick. No change.
I tried engineering mode / Uncle tools - in MIUI i dont have access to CDS Information, in stock ROM I do, but experience a "failed to send" response.
I tried MTK Droid Tools - i type in new IMEI, i reboot via the programme and after reboot the IMEIs are still "null"/"null".
Im desperate. Any help?

looks like i need to restore hard-IMEI, this is my case:
NStorm said:
They guy clearly told he is able to restore MP0B_001 in phone, but its SOFT-IMEI and is lost after wipe/factory reset.
@ Original question by ToldarkenHansam, which is kinda outdated, but considering lame answers here:
To restore HARD-IMEI in NVRAM hidden partition use SN Write Tool or Maui META 3G. They are able to write hard IMEI and calibration to NVRAM partition.
@ kokabunga - if you have nvram.bin backup you can easily resore it with SP Flash Tool. Just open your scatter file with any text editor, find a __NODL_NVRAM section and remove __NODL_ part from it. Reopen scatter in SP Flash Tool and you'll be able to check NVRAM partition.
It might not be able to upload it without other parts selected. But you can you Options->Write memory, then manually enter start address, which will be show on download/upgrade page near NVRAM and length (your nvram.bin length) - that will always work. Be careful to write correct address thou.
Sidenote: all suggested methods before only touch SOFT-IMEI, stored in /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001. Its lost with any wipe/reset, because whole /data partition are formatted. Then the whole /data/nvram directory (if it's empty) are restored from hidden NVRAM partition on EMMC. If you've corrupted your NVRAM when it won't restore correct IMEI ofc. With all methods mentioned above (i.e. replacing MP0B_001, echoing to pttycmd1, using mtkdroidtools, mobileuncletools and others) will only edit MP0B_001, i.e. soft copy of IMEI, which will be lost again with next hardware reset. Sure you restore your IMEI that way every time you wipe/reset/upgrade firmware. But its more solid to fix your IMEI partition with SN Write Tool / Maui META 3G so it will be correctly restored automatically from NVRAM at every wipe/etc.

but Maui META 3G isnt recognizing my phone, though it starts a meta mode automatically. SN Write tool itsnt working as well.
Thoughts? Is it possible to flash just a nvram partition? When I try my SP Flash Tools get a 8038 error.
i found a nvram.img for p780 from someones backup on the web, so i tried to restore it via adb, i got this:
edit: OK, the batch file runned succesfully ( its the utility nvram_backup_restore_wo_root-shell_3.7z , stympy, you posted it here in one thread )
what shall i do now? the IMEI are still invalid after reboot.
put the nvram.img to your sdcard not on your computer. and try the batch file again.. I tried that before using that image .. it did not help restoring imei... try it maybe it will help you
Hi all. For those of you who flashed wrong firmware and your IMEI are gone look what happent to me:
1. i flashed a custom recovery who errased my IMEI. That happent because the recovery was 7.5 mb instead of 6 and i was "blind" and careless and stupid and...nevermind
2. after restart surrpriseee.. no IMEI.
3. allmost total panic here.On MTK Droid Tool 2.5.3 IMEI NULL paniC again, and my worst nightmare PTTYCMD1 ERROR FILE NOT FOUND. Panic panic panic, used hard words #@$^%&(&&%$%& words alot.
4. after a little cooling i reflashed my old TWRP back and started to look in my computer for the firmware i allready have installed wass Baralajbi v6 (i like the partitioning of internal memory) firmware from needrom. Before that i tried to restore the NVRAM from TWRP. It did not work. No IMEI has appeared after restoring with TWRP.So i have rebooted the OS back and i immediatly go to /dev/radio where the PTTYCMD1 and the folder was empty.Again *&^%&$%^#^%#%^#^&(*(^* words.
5. Then i have reflashed Baralajbi firmware and after flash i have installed Root Explorer. Again i immediatly go to /dev/radio where the PTTYCMD1 and the folder was this time all the files were there.
6. So if this file PTTYCMD1 is in the /dev/radio folder you can restore your IMEI safely with any tool.
7. I hope this little problem of mine will help you other users to restore your IMEI.
I flashed different recovery (6mb, cwm) and different rom (miui 4.4.25 multilang).
I managed to get this... (But all of them have 0 size). Is it good?
I tried to use mobileuncle tools, but the option i need is still greyed out (wonder if miui blocks it out? on stock rom it was accessable)

You must try to flash a stock firmware CN or ROW.
MIUI is custom firmware.
The firmware must be flashed with SP Flash Tool.

I have tried searching for a custom ROM for the ektra which is impossible to find. If there is any please post ?
I do wonder if there is a way of updating the os. As there is nothing listed in the compatible devices for lineageos, I wonder whether this is in plan or can be done

Hi guys. I don't know if you solved this problem, but in case you don't yet, I tell you that I bought a Kodak Smartway X1 and I was looking for a stock Rom too, so I went to kodaksmart.com and send an email to the support group. They gave me a download link of the Rom. I don't know if you still look for the rom file, but if it is so, there you have an alternative. Greetings.

People of Kodak support answer me. They want more information about the phone. Tell me the exact model of your device so I can give it to them.

Hello!
Yesterday I received a KODAK Ektra smartphone from my friend. He had a problem - the Anti-Theft protection suddenly turned on. And he did not have the opportunity to unlock the smartphone.
Reset is not possible - Chinese characters are displayed in the recovery menu.
So I had to find the whole smartphone recovery kit.
1. Firmware
2. SP Flash Tool
3. Drivers for firmware mode (via SP FT) as well as CDC driver
Normal flashing is ok, but it does not erase the Anti-Theft lock.
Therefore, I had to do firmware with the option Format All + Firmware (only fot Anti-Theft unlock!!!)
But at the same time, the IMEI code was deleted.
For the IMEI recovery, I used the ModemMETA utility and installing (before using the modemMETA) CDC drivers.
From the link you can find all the utilities that helped me restore the device.
You can avoid problems with the recovery of IMEI if you need regular firmware (without formatting). Or you need to save NVRAM before flashing (it is recommended anyway).
So, for flashing you need:
1. Drivers (for Win 8.1 and 10 you also need to turn off driver signature verification)
2. SP Flash Tool (mode "Download only" or "firmware")
3. Firmware with Scatter file.
Any way save NVRAM (!!!!)
Disconnect Ektra from PC, turn off the phone. Run program, select scatter file, select "Download only" (or Firmware), click Download button, connect phone to PC. Wait. When a small green square with a checkmark appears, disconnect the smartphone from the computer and turn it on. Wait a few minutes for it to turn on (the first launch lasts longer than usual)
If you need to erase Anti-Theft - use mode "Format All+Firmware", flash it according to the instructions above. You don't need using this mode, if you don't have Security Lock on your smartphone!! You don't need to recover the IMEI when IMEI is OK (if *#06# shows IMEI).
You will have smartphone with emty IMEI. Recover IMEI from NVRAM,
OR you can install CDC drivers and use ModemMETA, DB-file MDDB_InfoCustomAppSrcP......EDB and IMEI number you know to recover IMEI.

Thank you XuMEPA for sharing all the files
But I am getting "status download exception" error and it happens at system.img file mostly rest all other files are flashed successfully.
Request you to please share the resolution for the same and please ping me on whatsapp or share your whatsapp no. for discussion if you don't mind please.
Thanks and regards,

I followed your instructions down to every letter along with learning in general about how to use the SPTool and take NVRAM backup.
My problem - locked out of my phone. Factory reset. Unable to sign in as google locked me out.
Solution - Your Firmware+Download option + NVRAM restoring for IMEI. My phone works perfectly like new.
Thank you so much, thank you
