Please help, I flash updated to andriod 7 and have now lost all my photos and music is there anyway to retrieve? I realise now I should have copied them onto my laptop but too late now
You should've placed the musics on a microsd this way you can update to any version without losing them, its lost now, no way of getting it back

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with 2.3.4 version and before i had a Iphone 3Gs. I like more my SGS2.
Two weeks ago, after finished the battery, I connected to charge and turn on. In the screen appear message... "internal sd card corrupted"... I searched for information on the internet but i don't found the solution... Now i know exist this :_(
My phone told me format the internal sd and I did...
Now my phone works fine, but I had a lot of pictures and videos of my little daughter that i want to recover, but it is impossible mission.
I don't install news apps, i don't update that i have and i have not made new photos. Only tweeter, facebook, pulse, mail, messages with whatsapp and navigation internet web pages
I have downloaded many programs for recovery data, recovery sd.... as Recova, pandora, Minitool, Wondershare, Zero, Rremo, Card Recovery, Foremost, and other many programs but not luck. Only recover new temporal photos (of the navigation)
Can i recover my old photos? is possible? how can i do?

Secondly i don't think so,personally i was going to suggest recova,once i deleted a doc and worked but it didn't work with u then dunnoi really feel sry for u cause once i lost my mobile ,had lots of family photos etc in it which where invaluable to me

One try RECUVA that fails thare are other file recovery tools available to purchase .Recover on PC via card reader not via phone .
However as you have tried then thats it you have no other choice but to contact a Data Recovery company and ask how much it will cost . It is an expensive job that may not succeed .
PS your English is ok and far better than the post you dont understand .

I even downloaded two applications of the google play to retrieve the data .... but no luck
I know it does not help now, but going forward link your account to Google + and picasa and you can auto upload pictures everytime you take them, so if you do lose your phone or corrupt it then at least you have pictures/videos

If you did not yet try 'PhotoRec' then you should do. It is free and I was more then once able to recover photos in cases where any other software I tried failed - you have nothing to loose

did you run it properly.
when you install it, you have to scan the internal storage. you can also set the options to just scan for jpeg.
and first rule is do not write anything on the drive you want to recover from, so stop installing stuff on your phone.

Ive recently been having a really annoying flaw with my system, i'm still unable to identify if my phone has caught some form of a virus or if theres something thats changed and not allowing my phone to function correctly.
Please be patient as i have a bit to explain in order to give you guys the full picture of my problem so that it can hopefully be fixed.
Ok so initially everything was working fine and there was no problems. I personally believe but i may be wrong the problem started when i downloaded ttorrent pro apk via a google link and inadvertently provided the installed app with much more access to my phone that was required. Having realized that the app was incorrect i immediately removed it from my phone using titanium backup. i also removed all data and cache at the same time.
So i took some photos whilst on my cousins stag in Barcelona a short time ago and the images were taken whilst i was on 4.2.1, but once i came home and collaborated my photo's and videos with a couple from the stag (they were using the s4) the images became corrupt. I had a full backup of these images on my Mac and they are all ok and can be viewed with no difficulty. The problem arises when i put the folder back onto my android device. Since i have tried a few method to fix this issue but to no avail. All virus check on both the phone and the folder of photos on my mac came back all clear.
The photo's are stored on my External SD Card which is brand new and seems to work fine. This Ex SD Card is not the same as the one i used on the stag(it broke and i purchased a new one since). I often found sometimes that the folder names were changing aswell in the External SD Card, for example i would import 7 folders which all contained images. after a short while, 3 of them would corrupt and the folder name would change to eg. ulbum. With the u being the u from utorrent.
The thing is the images are there to be seen in my files on the android but with no thumbnail and the images do not load. But some of the images in the same folder to seem to work. Ive tried using alternative galleries to see if this fixes the issue but it didnt seem to work. It really frustrating as ive tried so many method and got so many people involved.
Please provide me with some further suggestions because i cant seem to find anyone with the exact same problem.

Factory reset, format your SD card (with SD tool) and try again - without transferring anything from your PC. If everything works at that point then probably a virus or SD corruption.
If still the same then flash a fresh stock ROM with Odin, don't use the SD initally to prove the hardware isn't faulty.
Also check your phone bill, warez has a habit of dialling premium rate lines in China for days on end. Never install anything to found on google, if you can't find it on XDA then it probably isn't legit.

Thank You for your quick response. I've done a factory since the problem, flashing back an omega rom on my device. The problem still continued. The photo's can be viewed fine on my Mac...it seems to happen when i move them over to my phone as shown in the pictures in the top post.
I've run a scan on the images on my Mac and it came back all clear. Originally this whole corruption was apparent with one main folder which was of a stag do last month. Since my most recent attempt a further folder is no longer working. This was a album taken over a year ago on my iphone. The videos however from my album last month have started worked :S
This is all abit strange as ive taken a set of photos with the camera app and they dont seem to become corrupt. But ive put the images on a friends SD Card and put that in my phone and it seems to happen to that album aswell. Is there a further internal root which may have become infected and making this happen by targeting certain pic's/albums in my gallery.
My friend is adamant the photo's have become corrupt but they work perfectly on my MAC.
Ive formatted this SD Card on atleast 10 different occassions aswell.
If your phone was rooted then yes, system partition can be changed by virus. Flash a stock ROM with Odin and format the SD.

I agree with your friend. Your pictures must be corrupted or the filesystem on your external SDCard is corrupted too.
Try to copy all your files into a safe place (your Mac HDD) and verify that all files are done.
After, format this ExtSDCard (with the phone for example) et refill the SDCard. Check if I solve the problem.

Ok i may need to give this i try, once ive flashed the stock rom back on can i then flash back the omega rom that i was using or shall i stick with the stock rom to test it out??
Stupid phone/app decided to do something weird during (cut and paste) file transfer (from internal storage to sd), and now, most of my photos and 4k videos are gone. -_-
Any suggestions on how I can recover them if possible? I've stopped using the phone since it did this a few hours ago, so hopefully, that can increase how much I can recover.
Phone is a stock rom E5823 on 5.1.1. (no root) I don't mind rooting, but I'm worried about losing potentially recoverable files during the root process.
Pretty dang irritated right now. Any help would be much appreciated as these photos and videos were taken 9 hours away from home over the course of several days.

Did you try searching on the web? I don't think there's a particular way to recover files on the Z5 so you should look at other threads regarding Android phones with ext4 filesystem.
Unfortunately i'm not expert in this matter. I wish you success in your recovery, and let us know if you get through.

I have a bit of an odd problem with my Mi 8 Lite after the last update using the Pixel Experience ROM...the SDCard is now the main storage and Root appears to be secondary...does this make sense to anyone? When the last update went through, I did a backup of my apps using Titanium Pro but as the SDcard looked like and acted like root, when I performed wipe, it wiped the card and everything on it...all of my music and apps (I was able to get the music back as I had it backed up and my apps were restored easily enough)...
I hope that anyone reading this can make some sense of what I have put here...if not please ask for more information...what I need to know is how I can change them back to how they are meant to be :silly:
I should also say that I can only access the sdcard when the phone is connected to the computer and I can't see root... When I am in TWRP I can't see the sdcard but I can access root...

Hi everyone,
last week I moved 6 videos from my camera folder to another folder.
1 video transfered correctly, all others are gone (nor visible in the gallery app, neither via filemanager).
As the phone only has an internal storage, I want to try to recover them, but it appears as I need root for this.
So is there a way to get root permissions without wiping all data?

These videos are important for me, thats why I intended to moved it to a folder, that is synced via syncthing.
