hi everyone,i flashed last build of lineage 14.1 on my redmi kate, everything went fine but after that i run a bench with antutu and cpux, they show cores 5 and 6 sleeping, don't know how to make then work,is it normal or maybe am i making a dumb question? thx in advance
Have you flashed/tempered with any kernels or kernel audiutor?

It's probably normal then. I am also using the same rom and core 5/core 6 are shown running at 0.0 KHz. Basically, the system automatically manages the state of those cores depending on cpu usage in order to save battery life.
Last two cores are the big cluster(high performance) cores which come online under more loads due to hot-plugging.
Try loading a video or a game and see whether these cores come online.

So I installed system tuner from playstore and I'm looking at both cpu's and I noticed CPU 0 is running 100% of the time and CPU 1 is offline 99% of the time? It's the way that all dual core phones work to save battery. When using the phone heavily, both should kick on. While not doing anything or not processor heavy, just one core would run.

Correct.
CPU1 is rarely ever used. This is to conserve battery. It gets turned on/used only when there is a demand for extra processing power.
But some custom ROM/kernel combo's will change it so that CPU1 is used 100% of the time. I'd guess you had a custom kernel on your Nexus?

Thank u guys, This is what I figured, but I've never had stock rom and kernel on any of my other dual core phones this is longest I've ever had stock rom and kernel (4 days ; p) and had no idea CPU 1 is never really used cause yes most kernels take advantage of both, I turned on CPU 1 with the app but I don't think its working right, phone seems faster but I need run some tests ....thanks agn
People are stating that the performance is much improved after flashing the kernel. So I want to ask how does GTA sanandreas run on the device is it comparable to the ONEPLUS ONE ? Could anyone maybe upload a short sample to youtube of the game running at max settings on the device with the Blu_spark kernel ?
Video I found of gta performance with stock kernel skip to 2:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCfUUhp_M54
With Blu spark it's exactly as one plus one performance.

Possible yes but not with Blu spark. Noone working on it as far as I know. Eng.stk could implement it in Blu spark but does not want to, which is the correct decision in my opinion.

Why wouldn't it be the correct decision ? it could be completely optional
Yeah. I wish that someone would even make a 2.5ghz possible as optional. People that tweak with kernels usually know what they are doing plus one setting that is above the normal values would not even bloat it. Also we have thermal limit that will kick in that there will be no damage. It would be nice to experiment just a little bit.
Ps. Still one helluva kernel. Thanks to eng.stk
Great kernel. I use it on CM 13 with an incredible undervolt. I'd bet I could hit even 2.8ghz easily and stay under stock voltages. Loving it for everything else though.

Been my daily driver for a week. 729mhz was unstable so I had to raise it to 730mv from 725, but its great. Hence why I'd like more options for frequencies haha. I think I have an insanely high binned chip even though its an AA model. Can't wait to see what frequencies I can hit though.

Im just testing right now my new voltage values.
Now it seems like 930mv is also working for me. Not crashed after 3dmark, asphalt 8 and stability test. Also lowered 1900mhz to 915mv.
I think i can crash this with gta san andreas though.
E: WTF??? On OOS i could not uv under 950mv, but now i can. No crash and no slowdowns. Actually got a score of 1080 with 3dmark cloudgate. O_O

925 actually works too, but I had a few bugs. Rule of thumb is generally 10mv above whatever works so I settled with 935. I will test 930 though. Had to raise 1900 to 910. 905 gave me issues in stability testing.
The Phone is stable at these settings.

excuse me for being a noob, but, what's the main advantage of undervolting the cpu? is it done to achieve a longer battery life? it does not limit performance right?
i'm a new opx user and just flashed this awesome kernel and i'm interested in boosting performances of this awesome device.
may i have your current cpu volt setup? thanks a lot, sir.

You dont want to use anyones voltage settings. Undervolting is random. Some people get amazing results while someone gets crashing.
Undervolting cpu makes the phone run cooler and will save a bit of battery also.
Less heat also means that the cpu will propably survive a bit longer. Same goes for battery because cpu temps affect the battery too.
You just need to test all the voltages yourself and see what works and what does not.
Always make a backup that if something goes wrong you can always restore the system.
Also if you undervolt dont go complaining to devs about crashing or system lockups.

i didn't know if it was going to be this difficult haha. i thought using the same settings should be okay since its a same chipset and all, but i think its worth a shot.
okay then i'll go straight to kernel adiutor and set my own voltages.
another question and sorry if its out of topic, im using twrp 2.8.7.0 at the moment, i can create backup but i can't restore the backup, the error mentions about locked systems or partitions, forgot the exact error code, any ideas?
thanks

hey guys I can't understand the snapdragon 650 , when do the two big cores reach the Max clocked frequency of 1804Mhz I played a 4k video and even then can't make the big cores go to Max frequency all it uses is 400,691mhz states from little cores and 400Mhz from big one( I played the video for 3 minutes) also checked it while using miui while playing nova 3 observed the same stats there too..

Not necessarily, if they want the best camera performance then they need to wait for OnePlus to release binaries for Nougat.
You could try messing with voltage (I'd only suggest slight adjustment), using the app Boeffla provides here: http://www.boeffla.de/index.php/downloads/boeffla-config-app
But I wouldn't recommend a super high overclock as the 810 can overheat pretty bad, also depending on your governor (I use elementalx)

If it's available for your kernel the Boeffla-Config app has it under the CPU tabs at the bottom.
But as Sungfive claims it's not available, it probably isn't, sorry if I was misleading. I remember now Boeffla even says in his thread he doesn't allow voltage control anymore in the kernel, stating that you can add it back and build yourself if you want it (not so simple of course).

DISCLAIMER
Code:
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, NO WARRANTY IS PROVIDED. ONLY TESTED IN H990DS.
Why?
Certain games doesn't work well in the original LOS17.1 kernel for me.
What's new?
alucard hotplug
What's fixed compared to the original kernel?
none, if you don't need the features here just use the original kernel which is better.
Which build should I use?
General build if you don't play heavy games. Likely more stable.
Gaming build if you play heavy games. Likely less stable. Based on gamma but still uses LOS 17.1 sources.
Gaming-OC build if you play heavy games and have good thermals. Likely less stable. 2.34ghz big, 1.88ghz little, 710mhz gpu. Note that default voltages might be too high, use Gaming build first, take notes of the voltages, flash Gaming-OC then fix it up when some frequencies are too high.
Is it plug and play?
Certain new features will be disabled by default.
Pre-configured settings on the new features are not optimized, you should configure it yourself.
You can use smartpack to change adrenoboost, undervolt/overvolt, etc.
If you are throttled by thermal-engine, you will likely to never reach the OC cpu frequencies.
IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, DO NOT TOUCH ESPECIALLY ANYTHING RELATED TO VOLTAGES.

I'd recomend removing the crap thermal pad and replacing it with thermal paste like arctic mx-4. I did it and my thermals are very good, the cpu barely goes over 55 degrees celsius under heavy load. Before the mod i was hitting 70-80 degrees

My device using LOS 17 and this kernel always loch CPU clockspeed @ 1,19 Ghz and it can't be modified
I don't know, this bug from kernel or the ROM??
could be battery
here's few things you can try :
using the thermal engine I put on the drive link.
This can be dangerous since it is tuned for my phone or you can use gamma's thermal engine flashable.
Disable BCL, this is dangeorus and may shorten your battery lifespan. ONLY USE THIS FOR TESTING.
Code:
echo -n disable > /sys/class/power_supply/bcl/device/mode
if BCL fixed it then you need a new battery and be sure to restart so bcl enables again.

So the battery cause the clock speed lock at 1,19 Ghz??
This is a nice update to Gamma, but unfortunately anything beyond the camera-fixed-but-otherwise Gamma kernel in the `MAGISK-TWEAKS` directory doesn't have a functioning IR sensor - even in the supposed 'General' build. If this project is still in development, would it be possible to add the feature back in? It's a lot to ask for, but for those who use a V20 as a secondary device specifically for some of these (now) niche hardware features, it's almost the final decision between using this kernel, or not.
...I'd say 'other kernels' but, there really isn't anything else for new AOSP-based ROMs beyond, uh, Gamma.
What is the difference in between this kernel and last gamma kernel 20.0? Thanks
