Well sure, sooner is better, but you're essentially suggesting that someone should go hack one of the retailer's display models to get something we'll all get in a couple weeks anyway.
I'm sure it's not illegal... I doesn't say ohh hey no rooting the display models.... And how cares... You don't even have to root it to do a system dump as far as I understand... It is just easier for the developers to work with when you dump while rooted...

I don't see the point of any pre-ICS dev work if Asus is true to their word.
Understandably, we don't have much confidence in that at the moment.
I mean and im sure even if you got caught I'm sure that if you explained to the manager it was for a good cause he would be chill with it its not like they would arrest you for it lol!
Maybe if you stole it or put a penis as a wallpaper you might get thrown out!

As far as updates go im pretty sure most people actually have a lot of confidence in Asus. Releases sure not so much
True but it is possible and if we can beat asus to their own game it would be awesome!
My 2-yr old nephew is learning how to do a system dump on his own.. he wasn't successful..
Why don't you start with the source code that is available at the ASUS website?

We will have it in a couple of weeks, but why not already have people working on rom's and optimizing kernels for it. So when you get, you can start to mod it. This is a chance to get around a 2-3 week head start on making stuff. Do you know how much can be accomplished within that time?

I dont think a system dump is going to help with unlocking the bootloader if the devs don't have the actual device

Isnt there a PC virtual emulator for developers of android devices? Like an emulator of device the developer plans on using? I thought Ive seen this somewhere before.
So if someone was to do a system dump on their own Prime, what tools would be needed besides root explorer and razorclaw?
Anyone knows what happened to SGA?
I guess he gave up? Shame because his ROMs had made the news on a load of tech sites. His slim ROM build is awesome, so close to being a perfect ROM, hopefully someone can continue development. Or who knows SGA may return?

I doubt he just gave up, something had to happen that we are unaware of. Hopefully we will see him back soon, he gave so much to us touchpad owners, I for one just want to say thanks.

I am due for an upgrade June 1st, and one of the biggest things I am looking at is the dev communities for each. I absolutely despise Touchwiz, which means, if I get the S4, I'm unlocking it literally the second it is in my hand, On the flipside, I would like to keep up with Android versions, so the 4.1.2 on the HTC One irks me a bit(so I'd unlock that as well). Anyway, I was wondering if any of the devs here are working on, or planning to get and work on, either of these devices. It would be kind of nice to keep the same ROMs across devices if possible. Thanks!

i think im going to get the S4. looks like $149.99 for Sprint?
tried last week (about 15days til 1st) said i could get can early upgrade for $100. smh

I bounce back and forth. I'm not seeing a lot that I want to get involved with as of late, though. I dare say that I have my phone damn near perfect, and I don't want to screw with it anymore. :0
Dude you aren't even kidding. I just got the phone last month and I just realized it's like Six Flags Android Development over there. It's not a knock on these ROMs but seriously...
It shouldn't be surprising considering how widespread the one is everywhere but here.

I know a lot of us want to get the coloured X in Nexus writing, but the X was limited time offer only. At that time a lot of us did not have the Nexus.
What I am trying to achieve is one time only XDA community special return of the "X"!
I think we can try and convince them, but first I have to know how many of you are interested in getting the X? I know that @Semseddin and I are interested, but who else?!

I think if we can get enough people that are interested they will make it again for us.
I think they have to remember that they have the success they have is because of the XDA Community and they should hear our voice. :good::good:

I just ask the same on twitter and they replied me that colored X will be back for 48h on launch of Nexus 5X/6P (for every Nexus).
I think Nexus 5X/6P launch is about this week or mid october at far.
