i think its a hard coded lockscreen, you have to uncompile lockscreen and change xml values to restore position, change font, etc.. i recommend uncompiling an aosp version of lockscreen and comparing xml values with our lockscreen to set right position and font, also in case you dont know, im talking about decompiling using apk tool, not the normal apk extraction, because you need the xml files

I don't have enough time and knowledge.. ;/

How do I install this? metamorph ?
Bihariel, can you try updating european version or say me what are the changes it includes? (services.jar)
Thanks
Hi!
Great Thanks for your Theme, it really looks nice and works fine for me.
Im running 2.34 Rom with deodexed and Jit Files right like the guide of Sorensiim.
I only have a few questions and small issues now...
Is it possible to merge this framework with another one, id take the original european one, so there will be more regions chooseable, especially Germany.
What files do i have to replace in the original 2.34 euro framework-res?
only the drawable folders? color folder?
The 2nd issue i have is the display style of the service provider name....in your screenshot its quite big and bright white, mine is small and grey...as you can see at my attached screenshot.
Everything else works fine, also the white text that shows up e.g. when installing something.
Ill attach the euro framework-res, as you can see its a lot bigger than yours, i think thats the missing region support. Perhaps anyone else also wants to try merging these two.
Update:
My tries to merge the two frameworks didnt really have great success...
I always copied the files from the sense framework into the original framework using winrar.
It always worked, but not everything was as it should be:
on the first try i only replaced the folders up to the last drawable one.....
The result was black text instead of white in the notification bar.
2nd try was to copy and replace everything except the resources.arsc
The Result was white text in the notification but the menu test when pressing the menu softkey on the homescreen now was black on black.
The display of the service provider as shown in the screenshot never changed.
If any1 has another idea, let me know....
Until then, ill live without having the german region and some minimal rests of english interface.
Hi Bihariel, can you tell me if its possible to uninstall this theme?. Or can I make a backup of current theme and then apply yours?

yes, you should backup framework-res.apk and services.jar from the folder framework using root explorer.

My network signal is still black and so operator name. If there's a way to fix it?
Language is English, but locale set to russian, if this matters.
I installed it via recovery and got a reboot(???) on 1st boot, but now it works ok... gotta reboor it one more time for a check )) framework-res.apk
On a stock there is 5 sticks, and here is 4, when the signal is maximum, it is black. Would you fixed it?
And it is use many power. in powertutor without - 50m, with 1100m
My fimware is 2.34 official
good job nice looking
Working on Chinese froyo ?
Hi,
I prefer the sense jog things and unicolor notification icons over the default ones, however i really dislike the gradient bar. So i have slighlty modified the op's theme: I've put a few icons from gingerbread and fixed the black signal icon issue. The notification bar has also been changed (provider name is now readable).
To install, please first flash signed_sense_defy_fixed (see first post), then push the attached framework-res.apk to /system/framework using adb.
Edit: it seems like every time i update framework-res, the android market FC on me. To fix this issue, just clear market cache and then uninstall the app update (it will be reinstalled automatically from what i can see).

[Q] Change settings menu

Hi,
how can I theme the settings menu?
Change color, change images and group settings like they are grouped in MIUI.
Want to make with Stock ROM this menu: http://www.techcredo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/miui-settings-ui-overhaul.jpg
Instead of this ugly one: http://mydailygadget.mdg.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/settings1-300x500.jpg
What things I have to change or look at?
framework-res.apk...?
Which phone do you have dude??? And yeah if u have rooted then flash a miui rom instead of theming stock.... It's actually impossible to do this to a stock rom but because of the settings. Try the miui if u have rooted.
Hit the Thanks Button if I have helped.
Thx for the reply.
Yeah, MIUI is nice but I wanted to try CM7 and I liked everything but the UI of the settings.
I know it's possible to change the appearance of the settings menu. I found the xml files in the framework-res.apk but when I recompile and use the new file my phone ends up in a bootloop.
Can anyone help?
I have a SG S2.

Is it possible if i copy framework-res.apk from stock rom with root explorer????
Sorry,I don't have one.
I'm not a developer so i can't tell you if its possible with copying framework-res.apk
Using a 2.1 framework-res.apk would cause all kinds of problems, including stopping your phone from working.
It is theoretically possible to take the old SE lockscreen from stock 2.1 and put it onto this rom. Essentially you need to take the various smali, xml and png files that define it from the old rom and use them to overwrite the sliding tab files in the new rom.
If you just want the look, you may be better off theming the sliding tab lockscreen with the images from the original.

What if I copy framework-res.apk from sony style v1.1 ROM (2.3.7).... would it also cause any problem??
Sorry I am a noob
Well, you can try but there's a good chance it might not work.
Framework-res.apk contains a whole mess of files that define how your phone's interface works. It controls the layout of various elements and does all kinds of things.
Both rom's use GB and CM7 so that's promising, but you could have a few display issues.
In fact, now that I think about it, you're also going to need the services.jar as well as that's where the lockscreen smali file is kept.
Certainly, give it a try but just be prepared for it to go wrong. Make sure you backup first!
Or, why not try just using SonyStyle instead?

[Q] Is it possible to customize Galaxy Ace via SDK/ADB?

Hi guys. Galaxy Ace 2.3.6, rooted, successfully uninstalled several system apps (allshare, samsung apps, etc.), and using a market-downloaded launcher.
Now I want to customize my Ace even more without installing a custom ROM. I know some people do it via ADB. Is this possible with Ace? Suppose I already have the SDK and ADB installed, then what? Can anyone provide step by step instructions, please?
Like if I wanted to make the pull-down menu (where the shortcuts of wifi, bluetooth, sound, gps, and auto-rotate are located) semi-transparent, I think it's possible with ADB, I just don't know how to go about it.
Also, changing the font color and font size, for example.
Many thanks!

Get apk tool. Now you can decompile apps to edit graphics and code.
Inside the res folder you find graphics. Edit them with a good program and you can change transparency, colors, whatever.
SystemUI.apk and Framework-res.apk Have the notification and Status bar. Also check UOT Kitchen, make changes and compare to the original files.
Other apks for UI changes include Settings.apk, dialer, diáltab, Shutdown, etc.
Just dive in and experiment. As long as you got a Backup youll be alright.

dxppxd, have you done all that with your galaxy ace?
I have succesfully put a semitransparent Black Status bar, changed the looks of many icons (including check boxes, circles, the USB mass storage android picture, etc ) and changed the toggles icons to ICS style (I took the ones from tj_droids ICS stock theme).
Also got the ddkq8 lockscreen with centered clock, and added status bar icons from UOT Kitchen.
I'll post my framework and systemui apks later today (stock ddkq8) when I get home so you can open them and check them out (compare the files inside them with your own). Changing graphics is easy all you really need is winrar or 7zip and a graphics editor . Adding more settings, expanded menus, etc, that's the complicated part, you need apk tool.
Check this great tut

So I am on the Typhoon ROM on my HD2 and searched all over XDA but couldn't find any EMOTICON or SMILEY pack for the Android devices.

Pretty much. It's worth having a look in your framework app(s) and SystemUI.apk as well. All you need to do is replace the PNG files with ones by the same name.
I found some very nice emoticons over on deviantart and they look so much better.

Sorry if this is a bit late, but if you're still looking for a solution, perhaps this might help (assuming you're rooted):

I don't remember if it was on ICS, but I used the ADB method to change mine to emotes my friend drew for me.
I did this a while ago, so I apologize if it doesn't work as of now.

You also need to change /system/app/Mms.apk (at least on my 4.1.2 android ROM). It included also 21 emoticons in the Mms.apk, not 17 like in the systemframework).
I also noticed that on my ROM (LG Optimus Speed device), the hdpi icons are 33x33 px, and in the provided .rar they are 24x24

Hi. I've searched everywhere for the answer to this question, but so far I haven't found it. Ok, I'm on SE xperia x10 mini pro running MiniCM7 on nAa-kernel. Works like a charm. But the stock firmware had 27 smileys, now I have 17 and therefore, when I use standard input in mms.apk, I can add the original ones to the text, but they will not all show up like smileys, but some just as plain text or characters, for instead the heart is just <3. I have extraxted the original ones and added them to both framework-res and mms, but that only changes the ones I could allready see, but it doesn't add the others. I've tried to install the stock 2.1 mms.apk, with same resaults and also change the custom mms (2.3) with the stock in the rom and then upgrading, but that just made it reboot over and over again. So anyone have any solution or ideas to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance

Hi.
This usually can be done by completely hacking the MMS.apk for your Rom. I once did it for my CM10.1 too, but it is a bit tedious.
You need to find the res/xml file that stores the layout for the smileylist, and add new ones there.
You can build and reinstall apk's with Virtuos ten studio easily, if you have adb/usb drivers installed and your phone connected to your pc
