Video Ringtone for HTC M8 - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Hi. Is it possible to set a music video as a ringtone for HTC M8? (avi, mp4, wmv ...... etc)

I'd say no. I mean, almost anything is possible with the sufficient skill, effort, and time. But I haven't seen anyone do this, no existing mod or app for that, etc.
It seems a bit silly. Or maybe you're onto something, and it's the newest trend?

Hi, you could be right there. Animated caller id! Any programmers here?

[Q] Audio Input Level in Video Recording?

Hi Guys. I seriously looked into this question, but couldn't find the answer anywhere.
...
I was in a music festival in Latvia, called POSITIVUS, and I was photographing and filming the living hell out of this festival. Afterwards, I was watching the filmed material and the sound by filming the bands perform, was... one word - terrible. I was thinking - yeah, it was loud, so, no wonder. But then i saw the same band in practically the same footage filmed next to me, with my friends iPhone 4 and in his footage the sound was great. No noise, no speakers blasting horrible sounds.
...
SO, i was wondering... maybe someone knows how to limit the sound input in video recording so it wouldn't sound like the speakers are about to blow up.
...
Please dev's... could you look into this?
There's a hacked Camera App, try that...

I am on Villain ROM with VillainRomTweaks and i Installed the better camera apk., I never would ask for something like that, IF IT WAS SO OBVIOUS!
...
DEV's I am hoping for your help... Please, Devs...
I have the same problem. I've recorded a live concert and the sounds are terrible. I'm sure it is possible to fix that.
For sound recording only, I'm using Hi-Q MP3 recorder. This app allows to control volume input levels. The result is much better.
If there was a way to link the Hi-Q recorder to the video app as the default audio then we would be one step closer.....
Any Solution for this ???????????/
I have the same problem? Anybody can help????/

Bluetooth Audio Streaming

I picked up my Note the other day and I have come across an interesting situation.
My Mazda3 has built in Bluetooth and I can stream to it no problem. When I did so on my old Infuse, the display on my car only ever said BT, no track number or play timer. Now with the Note, there are areas that show the track and play time. When I play anything with the Samsung music app, the track number increments properly, but the play time stays at 0:00. With Google Music, any track I play shows 600 for track number and the play time stays at 0:00.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
EDIT: I should probably mention that for now I'm on stock Gingerbread.
Yea, it's just the way the software works with a2dp from what I understand. Every music app will be a bit different if they support the feature at all.
But then why didn't the Infuse have the same behavior?

Infiniti G37xS
I'm encountering issues. On the stock Note GB ROM, mp3 tag data was showing up in the display of my factory head unit on my Infiniti G37xS.
After applying the ICS leak, this functionality no longer works. This also worked with my Skyrocket and the stock ROM. In all cases, I was using the default "Music Player" application.
Does anyone know of any market players that support tag (or even album art) over bluetooth?
Thanks,
-MK

Sounds like some of the functionality isn't complete or was left out of the ICS leak. Could be either the BT driver or the Music app. Let's hope it gets better with future leaks or official.
I would like to know if there are any apps that support full track info.

I just sent an email to the developer of PowerAmp on this exact subject. I have a Lexus that works just fine with my Son's 4S - displays everything on the screen. So it must be doable and its good to hear that at least GB Note has it somewhat working - so I think it is up to the app developers to get there code tweaked to support it.

Any news from that Dev?
Also CM9 is supposed to enable the track number, time and track info display.

So there are some differences in ICS versus Gingerbread which give me some hope.
So now on ICS using the same version of Google Play Music Instead of getting the 600 as the track number and 000 as the play time, i just get dashes. But on ICS I actually get the rest of the track info, like artist, song and album. So two steps forward, one step back.
I have included some photos
ICS likes to pause music for a split second while the camera snaps a photo, so BT shows as paused and continues showing that even after playback has resumed. So in the photo you can't actually see the dashes I described.

Making music player widget

I'm using n7 music player, because of the dozen or so I have tried I like it most.
It is however lacking in widgets, and what is included is not at all customizable.
I've searched the threads but can't find anything, so plz excuse if I'm asking a stupid question.
With basic coding knowledge and decent web dev & design experience, how much work would it take to make my own music player widget for n7? And where would I start?

Audio lags behind Video stream

Not sure if it's just me, but when I'm watching video streams, anything from ESPN, YouTube, browser embedded videos, or HTC Media Streamer based content, Audio stream noticeably lags behind. About half a second actually.
Has anyone noticed this behavior, and what's the solution?
Thanks.
i've noticed it lags on the videos that you record. the audio is a little quicker than the video.
Yup that's exactly the case. Audio lags behind video in pretty much anything that's using HTC's native "Streaming Media Player". Massive and consistent lag.
Netfilx, WatchESPN, and similar third party apps don't lag as much though.

I'm talking anything, not only your camera content. If you get TubeMate and download any YouTube video onto your phone, and then play it with the default player, you'll notice a massive lag. Doesn't matter if HD or SD content. The phone is definitely NOT struggling to keep up.
The issue has to be within the actual OS settings.

interesting. wouldn't surprise me. do me a favor, go try MX Player. I've been using that on my Nexus 7 and love how it works. maybe that'll fix it? what does the stock app have that that doesn't, besides the ability to take a still shot picture?

Actually all the third party players seem to have the same issue. Used MX, VPlayer, Dice, BSPlayer, VLC.
This is clearly OS wide issue (at least on my unit). Has anyone experienced similar behavior on your DNA?
i dont see this on my DNA. i tried youtube and TWit live and voice and video is spot on.

In YouTube app lag isn't as drastic, but if you download the video and then watch, we're talking over 250ms. I also restored recently, same issue.
Am I the only one having this issue?!
i haven't downloaded any videos on to this thing so i really can't say lol
so wow, I was just watching a youtube video and yeah... the audio was slower than the video. I bet it has to do with the full HD screen.. what else could it be? ugh pretty damn annoying. this sucks because I'm anal as hell when it comes to audio and video lag...

I haven't experienced any of these issues. Sounds like an issue with TubeMate. I mean, you said streaming from YouTube was ok, but downloaded videos had lag. That, to me, sounds like a problem with your download program.

The nexus 10 has the same lag due to the screen resolution.

Even when streaming within YouTube app, the lag is present, it's just not as evident. However, when playing any content loaded onto the device, the lag is north of 250ms which is major!
Another example is my subscription to Futubox which has two ways of delivering HD content, browser flash based, and m3u8 where HTC MEdia Streamer handles the content natively. Flash plays perfectly in sync (although drains more battery), but m3u8, or rtmp/rtsp lags terribly.
I've tried the same exact m3u8 stream on an iPad 3 and a PC, no lag whatsoever, even when AirPlayed.
I simply mentioned TubeMate because it's the easiest way to grab video content onto the storage. Besides that, TubeMate downloads whatever the digital source is, could never be the cause if the issue.
This is OS level issue, and it's real.
so it seems screen resolution is the culprit. btw guys I've reported this to htc, and sent the link for this thread. They're in contact with me. I suggest you report it too

Looking for an app that manages sound priority

The problem I'm having and I have no idea how to fix it. I was hoping there might be some app to do it, since I'm not the most tech savvy person. I have an htc one m8 and I have one game app that interferes with my music player. I disabled sound on the game but its a slider bar so the phone/ program still registers it as having sound enabled and thus turns off any and all music players I may currently have running. So I'm looking for an app that will downgrade the games priority of sound in favor of all music players/ other apps. Strange problem and not a vital one but just an annoyance I have looked everywhere online and have been unable to find this answer. Hoping maybe someone here might know a trick to this problem or an app that will help. Thanks.
