So I have completely given up on my LG G5 for 5 months and today I decided to see if maybe I could get it updated to Nougat to see if it would fix the battery drain I was having. I couldn't get that far. Now the WiFi and Bluetooth say Connection not allowed and I can't connect to my home wifi of course. Well I decided to check the MAC Address to see whats going on. My current MAC Address is 02:00:00:00:00:00. Something doesn't seem right about that.
My ideas that I have done:
4 Factory Resets
3 Airplane Mode Reboots
2 Safe Mode Attempts
1 Clearing of Cache
At this point I dont know what else to do. I really miss Android and I am currently using an iPhone 6S. I just want to get back to the roots where I belong on the Dark Side. Please someone help me with this issue, I even contacted LG support and they told me they can't do much about it. Same with AT&T they aren't helpful over the situation. This seems to be an issue a few people have had but I think it's time to get this issue fixed.
Please help I posted this on the AT&T LG G5 thread and no one has reply in over two weeks.

Try taking the Sim card tray out and booting into Android and see if your correct wifi Mac address shows up or not. I know on my t mobile h830 that had happened that my Mac address would show same as yours unless I had Sim card tray out. If it works, try doing factory reset with it out and booting into Android and all then put Sim card in and see if it sticks. Otherwise not really sure.

If nothing is working, I'd say it's a hardware issue with the Bluetooth / wifi card and you'll end up needing to send it in for service then.
Hi...did you ever figure out what was wrong with your LG? I'm having the same issue with Bluetooth on my rooted LG G3, it's saying 'Connection not allowed'.... Tried everything to fix it short of bouncing it against a wall. Can you help?
My Phoenix 4 (LM-X210APM) has this problem. I got it from my friend's dad and it always had this issue.

Hello everyone
I have a Galaxy 2, everything worked great, and one minute for no reason WIFI stopped working, I mean when I turn on the WIFI device starts scanning the network, the scan takes about 20 seconds (of course, no network is) and then the WIFI is turning off by himself.
Besides, everything works, BT,GPS ,also I can get and receive calls correctly.
I Changed for several versions of the modem, dozens of times ,I tried HARD RESET RECOVERY way -- nothing works.
my current state as a pic below
I'd like to accept any idea and help
Thanks all
PLEASE
Please, someone must help urgently

Hi there porusski!
The best thing to do is to take your phone to your seller, Galaxy S2 has a two year warranty. They should fix it or replace your phone, it shouldn't take more than 10 days.

Do you have a Netgear router by any chance, cos they suck balls, and as a general rule, will not connect properly to an Android device.

Hello guy's,
I took my phone to the carrier and after lab check they told me that wifi module is move physically on the board -- they say that reason is bad flashing of rom or modem... Does it make sense to someone?? Because i flash just one time in day when i by the phone - and it was work perfect 3 weeks....
wifi module moved physically??
im having the same issue here, will be sending it back to the seller soon
tried almost everything possible solution, nothing works..

Yes, you believe that crap? Their answer was not credible, there is no chance to move physically

I was previously using a Huawei router. It kept disconnecting from the internet, so I changed it over to a Netgear DGN3500. I've had nothing but problems connecting the Galaxy S2 to the router over wifi. Keeps going between one bar and no bars, and disconnecting, even I'm not that far away from the router. In order to get 3 bars and a good signal I have to be directly next to the router.
Same issue here
Hi all,
I have the exact same issue, also tried wiping everything and switching rom/kernel/modem, also tried restoring to a nandroid when everything worked perfectly and still wifi doesn't work. I noticed that the wifi services are not running also.
It stopped working gradually after working great for a long time, sometimes I was able to connect sometimes don't, until it stopped working at all.
Do you have any updates on your situation?
Interesting. I seem to be having the same issue. I can connect to the router fine but it wont let me browse or download anything. 3G is working fine.
I will try and swap ROM (again) to see if it solves.
SOLVED
Turns out it was a hardware issue - 2 resistors needed to be replaced

Hi,
I really don't know what to do, hope you guys can help me.
I own a SGS2 for like four months now. More than a month ago it started to have this weird problem. The problem is i cannot be reached/called. The person who calls me is getting that message that i might have my phone turned off or out of area which my phone is not. I tried it myself keeping my SGS2 with full signal in one hand and calling me from my work mobile. The problem occurs very random and rarely, and i cannot reproduce it. The only thing i noticed it happends when i have wifi turned on and connected to a router. But this doesn't happend every time i am connected wifi. When this poblem occurs and i turn the wifi-off then i can be called, when it connects with Hsdpa.
Two other things i want to tell you. One is that my phone has never been rooted, it has stock ROM. And the other is that once i hot swaped between two sims.
Thank you in advance, every help is much appreciated.
No ideas? Anyone (
Your best bet is to contact your carrier as if you are fully stock they will be able to help you and if its a hardware problem replace the phone.
If you start flashing stuff from where you might void your warranty.
Thanks, but it is very hard for me to prove that it's faulty as it rarely does it and i cannot reproduce the problem. They will just test it a few times and then tell me everything it's oke, when it's not. Can it be a faulty SIM?

Might be, also i would check kies to see if there is a software update for you, maybe a newer baseband fixed something.
If you can get new sim cards, i would, see if that helps.
Hi
Recently my S2 just stopped reading my SIM when I was going to call someone. Since then it has refused to read my SIM, or any other SIM for that matter.
To fix this problem I've tried resetting the phone to factory settings (in 3 different ways ( hard-reset.com/samsung-i9100-galaxy-s2-hard-reset.html )) with no luck.
I've also tried installing alternative ROM's, but with the same result.
The phone was already rooted with an insecure kernel when this happened, so warranty is long gone.
Though, one thing I did realize was that even though I did hard-reset the phone several times, some of the settings on the phone remained untouched, like my locking pattern and a few other settings. Does this mean that hard-resetting the phone isn't really an actual hard-reset? If that's so, is there any way to properly 100% reset the phone?
In short; I'm running out of options on how to fix this. I refuse to believe it's hardware related, just because I'm stubborn like that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated (really).

You can refuse to believe in gravity too, but falling from high distances will still hurt.
If you tried more than one SIM in the phone and none work, but those same SIMs work in other phones, than more than likely, it is hardware related.
Did you check you imei?
078gregory brings up a good point. So if it's not missing IMEI info, THEN it's likely hardware.
Isn't it funny how everything suddenly works itself out once you cry out for help?
Today I've been trying around 10 different ROM's on the phone. Custom and stock. As one last attempt I gave a random ICS 4.0.3 march ROM a last try, and guess what. I got the SIM prompt. I can not believe it. So yeah, it's working now. I have no idea what caused it, but I believe the phone was stuck in flight mode somehow, and just needed an extra push to get out.
Either way, it's working like a charm now. Thanks for the replies though.

Hi people. I have the same problem Habitats decribes. Mi s2 is stuck in flightmode and cant get out! i have reset the phone in every kind of way but no succes. Now i read here on this forum that flashing my phone to ICS 4.0.3 can help solve the problem. I'm on 2.3.6 now. This flightmode thing happened al over sudden. I have done nothing strange with the phone. Its not rooted either. I was planning to go to a samsung servicepoint and let them check whats wrong. But now i read this thread and see that i can relate to this problem of Habitats. I think a also will try to flash ICS 4.0.3 and watch what happens. But theres another problem. KIES don't recognize my phone anymore so what can i do? Can someone please help me out? Thanks in advance
I'm having the exact same problem, could you please tell me which rom worked for you Habitats? Thanks in advance!
Update:Last tuesday i went to the vodafone store were they have a samsung service department also. I explained my problem to them but they don't seem to recognize the problem. Although i read that many people here at xda's and over the internet have similar issues with this phone.Strange! So they sent it to the repair centre. Yesterday i could see in the track and trace menu of the repair centre that my fone was ready and send back to the vodafone store. Status: Boardswap. So they swapped the whole board! Didn't know that the problem was that serious! So i hope i can pickup my galaxy s2 soon this coming week!! I can't wait!I'm on my old HTC Touch HD now. Its ok with the windows but on Android....Arggghh!! Whatsapp is a pain and more. Its so laggy!. I will give an update soon again!

Hello! I hope everyone is doing great and I hope LG G2 mini threads aren't dead, which I doubt.
So my issue is that SIM card, afew months ago, just randomly stopped working. Tried all classical, to remove it, clean it, let the phone stay off without the battery, try different SIM, but all lead to the same result, no service.
Another issue, that just recently occurred, is that radio devices, like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, don't work. After attempting to turn on any of them, the button turns on for a few seconds and then it turns off or something like that. Also MAC address isn't present. But here is the ridiculous fact. So I found out a way to get it functioning. Before booting up the system, I slam it on the back and sides and then gently turn it on. Great! The Wi-Fi works, able to connect to my home Wi-Fi and to play a YouTube video. Bluetooth also able to pair it with my PC, transfer files. It works 1/5 times that I've tried because after rebooting the phone, it just losses it.
Now I'm guessing it's because of the bad contacts on the both issues. Though a heat gun would help but I don't own one. Maybe a hair dryer could do the trick? Or maybe even cook it? Motherboard of course, not the whole phone.
Now I also should mention that it's got Lineage OS 15.1 unofficial running on it. That is actually when the issue with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth started to happen but that I'm guessing is just a crazy coincidence. Also it's LG-D620r
Did the problem start when you unlock the bootloader?
Have you tried flashing another ROM to see if it gets better?

The SIM problem started before flashing new rom. Everything was stock, but Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues started after flashing the rom and recovery. But I haven't tried flashing new one, just the same one twice because I had problems with play services
Make a backup and flash a kdz and tell me if that fixes anything.

My priority is to fix the SIM issue and I doubt that installing the stock ROM will fix that. Like I've stated before, the SIM issue started before Installing Lineage OS 15.1. The version I was on was plus.pl, Poland's service provider, version of Lolipop 5.0.2 which was upgraded from KitKat 4.4.2, if I'm not mistaken
Assuming that it is not caused by the ROM or broken/incompatible drivers, then the SIM slot is probably broken.
Not much you can do about it. Not worth the money, anyway.
