Longtime lurker, first time poster and all of that.
I am in possession of a brand new Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (Korean model SHV-E120S).
I would love to help get custom ROMs and other things onto this device, and I'd be happy to dump my phone or provide system images... if I knew how to get them!
It seems Samsung does their mounts a little custom, as the ROM dumpers I've found don't work (missing a /proc/mtd). Can anyone point me towards how to get a dump of the .img or other files someone much smarter than I needs to get development off the ground? Even if devs don't pick it up, I'd like to get a dump of the files anyway for my own tinkering.

hi brother l have the same device and l want the full firmware .I found the room but not the full firmware I need the PDA and pit files .go to the first section (galaxy s2 general) then go to (Korean galaxy s2 ....) on page 54 and 58 you find 3 links for the room
Yes, I saw that ROM posted before, though the tar appears broken.
What I am looking for is a tool or a guide for dumping the ROM myself. I have rooted the device (Zergrush v3) but not much else.

I think there's only English, Korean and a [custom?] Chinese ROM for the Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-E120S) and LTE (SHV-E110L) phones.

So have any of you been able to use this phone in America? Are you using a custom or stock ROM? Korean or Chinese? When I try to use the phone here in Canada w/ Rogers or Fido, it won't connect to any HSPA/3G networks. Can anybody can help?

I am actually in Korea for the next year and change, so I can't vouch for it on Canadian networks. From what I know of the radio, it should work on Rogers GSM networks for 3G, but it won't get LTE/4G service there (different frequencies in Korea/North America). Are you sure your phone is unlocked?
I am running the stock Korean ROM 2.3.6, but I have rooted mine with zergRush.
Actually I should get 3G & LTE (because Rogers claims to use LTE 2600) but no HSPA+. It wont connect to the network. I suspect that it's possible that the ROM is keeping me from connecting since it's asking me if I want to use Network data outside of South Korea. I suspect the ROM wont connect to foreign data bands. I was just wondering if there was any way to try another ROM...

Last month I had just bought Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-E120S) in Korea and bring it back to use in Malaysia.
Everything is working fine except for SMS.
I am able to send and receive SMS by using the default SMS program. But i can't send out SMS if i use third-party SMS program i.e. GoSms, Handcent SMS.
My phone is not rooted. Details as below:
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: SHV-E120S.EL21.0917.ST

Somemore, when i tried to restore the SMS backup from my old phone (I9100) to this SHV-E120S, using GoSms, "SMS to Text", "Backup to Gmail" etc, all the old SMS didn't go into default SMS program, instead, it showed only in GoSms or Handcent SMS.
I'd already done the factory reset but the problem still exists.
Do you guys have any idea on this issue?

Hi guys I am having the same problem, SHV E120s, test messages with GO SMS pro worked initially, but now i am unable to send regular sized SMS.
Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to fix this, or what the issue is

I ve got Samsung s6 Edge Verizon Unlocked, I'm using it in Vietnam (suplier Vinaphone). After rom update G925VVZW4BOG9, this mobile can not connect with 3G. After search about this, I knew that G925VVZW4BOG9 was error. Maybe I must wait a new rom. But I want to change by Rom vietnam, How to check rom suitable with my mobile? And How to change? Help me please!

I have come here asking for massive help i am in the U.K and got my s6 edge on contract through mobilephonesdirect on the EE network, for the last 3 months i had battery and 4G problems and sent it to EE they replaced something and reset the phone but its come back with vodafone software in italian on it even tho when it went to them it wasn't on there and they will not change it to EE they have told me i need to go back to mobilephonesdirect and get them to sort it as they have supplied me with a vodafone branded phone in italian when it should be EE, now i'm thinking to save all the bother of explaining it all to them i could root the phone and install EE branded software onto it? but this is where i need help I have never rooted and phone i do not want to brick the phone, so is anyone willing to point me the right way im guessing i need the EE software for the phone and a guide to install it. please help I have had nothing but problems trying to sort this.

Hello everyone first time posting on her, anyway my brother in France sent me a Galaxy s5 it was running lollipop 5.0 so naturally i wanted to upgrade i did a manual update search but it said that's the recent one so i took a look under the battery and the stickers says my phone model is SM-G900T but when you boot in odin mode at the top it says the model is SM-G900P so i got confused after that i went to sammobile and downloaded marshmallow for both models and tried to flash them m. The T-Mobile's one failed odin said something about authorization but the sprint one went okay the phone works okay great in fact i rooted it and everything exept i can't get 4g to work only 3g i searched in the forums and found out about unlocking band 3 but i have to have an MSL code or something and i have no idea how to do that. The phone is unlocked by the way i live in Tunisia and get data and calls fine so my questions are
1- what's the correct model of my phone?
2- how to enable band 3 so i can get 4g on my phone?

When I came home to India I found out that the Australian J8 does not support VoLTE (Voice over LTE) but I need VoLTE for my Indian sim card to work. So I went to the Samsung service center but they straight away denied any support since I bought this in another country.
The Indian varient J8 supports VoLTE but the Australian one does not even when both the phones have the exact same hardware. So its a software limitation.
Can anyone suggest any method I can use to install any custom ROM that'll support VoLTE.
I'm willing to install anything, root my phone or whatever it takes since I'm never gonna get any warranty on this. So I might as well try everything else.

Just download Indian firmware from sammobile and flash via odin, that will contain latest modem for your device. It might bring VoLTE, because I think its software problem.

I tried but it won't let me install any other model firmware. My phone's Model Number is SM-J810Y but the phones available in India have model number SM-J810G. So it won't let me install the "G" firmware. I get a failed message.
Do you have any other suggestion?
