Guys i have a redmi note 3 kenzo device running miui 8.1.1.0 mm
Due to some reasons i want to downgrade to miui 8.0.6.0 lollipop
Is it possible to do so without any problems because i have heard of people reporting about mac, wifi, network imei issues after downgrading.
Can someone please provide a detailed description of downgrading process which does not lead to the problems mentioned above
Use Miflash & download 8.0.6.0 , procedure is the same but all your data will be lost in this process

I need to test some thing thats why i want to downgrade
And i have tried 8.1.6.0 it has heat and battery issues
And i also needed to ask that are ypu sure that the fastboot method wont lead to the problems mentioned above (wifi, bluetooth, imei)
Boot phone into EDL, and use MiFlash to flash any firmware you want, be it Lollipop or Marshmallow release.
Done it plenty of times before I went full LOS.

Hello guys, I recently purchased a redmi note 3 pro SD from AliExpress & the vendor flashed their own rom on it. I can't do ota updates or use mi pc suite with it so I want to flash official China rom on it but I have no idea how. Could any of you kindly tell me how? Thanks in advance.

Download the official rom from Miui forums and use the built in updater app. I don't have this phone yet but it sounds fairly straightforward. Make sure it is definitely the Snapdragon version first. The locked bootloader is supposed to stop vendors flashing their crap onto it
I just bought one as well. Vendor asked if I wanted either it sealed or "custom upgrade". Bootloader locking was needed, as @pepdavies said, because of all the malware

Hi, I downloaded the update from the official site followed the instructions but it doesnt up date, just says getting info then app crashes.
Here is the official GLOBAL ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3337205
Envoyé de mon LG-D955 en utilisant Tapatalk
and here's the procedure to flash Stable ROM or Global ROM to Note 3 Pro
Flash(Unbrick) Redmi Note 3(Snapdrgn) with Locked Bootloader
just follow carefully step-by-step.
I successfully changed vendor ROM to Chinese Stable ROM using above procedure.
If your phone comes with vendor ROM, and you can not update official ROM ota or by pc suite, then you have to flash your phone by the method mentioned above.
Download official ROM and use updater app will not solve the problem.
I've flashed my phone with official ROM, once you've flashed your phone successfully, you can update official ROM ota when new ROM is available.

I have the same problem with a note 3 pro SD650 I recieved from china. (MIUI 7.1 stable 7.1.18.0(LHOCNCL). Was unable to unlock bootloader without permission and therefore to flash any rom. Waiting now for authorization. Also unable to sync google contacts.
You don't need to unlock the bootloader. You can flash it using adb tools by rebooting into EDL mode, then you flash the official full rom

Welcome to Redmi Note 3 family.
Kenzo or Kate?
Snapdragon standard variant is called as a 'kenzo' and special edition Redmi note 3 with different radios version is called as a 'kate'.
Global/ Chinese?
There are two types of MIUI ROMs.
1. Global
2. Chinese
Difference in these both ROMs is that, you will find some chinese material here and there in chinese ROM. Global is fully in english.
Again there are two subtypes of these two ROMs which are Stable and Dev/Beta. Sometimes Beta/Dev ROM is also called as a 'weekly'.
So basically most of the devices have 4 official MIUI ROMs which are:
1. Global Stable
2. Global Beta or Global Dev
3. Chinese Stable
4. Chinese Beta or Dev
There is no connection between the type of ROM and unlocking bootloader.
Bootloader unlock method?
Since you know there are two methods to unlock the bootloader, I will discuss them one by one.
1. Official
You don't require to flash any latest or dev or chinese ROM to unlock using official method.
First of all you need a persmission from Xiaomi to unlock the bootloader.
Goto http://en.miui.com/unlock/
Login here. The account should be same as the one is on your phone.
Write the reasons for unlocking.
After that Xiaomi will grant you the permission. If you don't receive any SMS from Xiaomi, just check on the above link.
Even if you get the permission its most likely you will not able to unlock nootloader on first attepmt. But don't worry, try again after few days.
Use MiUnlock tool. Once you get the permision, that tool will be available on the above link or you can always download from here http://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
2. Unofficial
I have unlocked my phone by unofficial method 6-7 months ago and I still have no issues at all.
Open this folder https://mega.nz/#F!LUxlHJBC!RK5_8fta4XWAVFqWoWrvjQ
It has everything what you need for unlocking bootloader unofficially.
Just follow this guide and you are good to go: GUIDE
You might have to disable Driver Signature Verification if you are using Windows 8 or higher (google it)
Recovery?
I will suggest you only and only following recoveries:
If you have unlocked your bootloader officially, You must use ZCX only.
If you have unlocked your bootloader unofficially, you must use either Alka or Cofface
Here is a thread where you will find everything about recoveries.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redm...twrps-t3406708
All download links are in that thread.
Hope this will help! Happy flashing!

Thank Q so much bro
After days of waiting, I've successfully unlocked my BL. Please tell me from where I can get 8.2.10 'Fastboot' ROM. Everybody gives the link to LATEST Fastboot ROM which is 8.5.4 I want to downgrade to 8.2.10. I'm currently on 8.5.4 Android N and Battery life is terrible and many bugs. My device Redmi Note 4 SD Global Version.
Does anyone know?
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V8.2.10.0....DL_20170602.0000.00_6.0_global_dfea5718af.tgz
Thanks @CraftyPie
Appreciate it. Is this a safe download? All I've to do is Flash via MiFlash. Why older version Fastboot ROMS not easily available on MIUI website?
The link was pulled from a download on the MIUI website I did a while ago so this is straight from Xiaomi. As for why they don't have older versions available, I have no clue.
if u are asking whether to downgrade or not i tell u my opinion yes cause i prefer marshmallow more and also it has support for alot of things like xposed and editing and more like bug less
Version i have : http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.2.24/miui_HMNote4XGlobal_7.2.24_5f57454ec2_6.0.zip

Hello.
Has anybody tried fastboot version of MIUI12 for curtana? https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/curtana/
you can find other version here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/curtana/
Installed and being trying it for 3 days now. Everything works perfectly. For my day to day usage I can't say I've noticed any big differences from MIUI 11 (I was using xiaomi.eu 11.0.11.0). Usage does feel smoother and the battery does last longer, although I have no documented evidence to show. I removed the bloatware as per the 11.0.10.0 guide and I've found no bugs. All in all I'm happy with this ROM.
Edit: Just wanted to meantion the MIUI camera app. There are no added features. No clone mode and no kaleidoscope mode. The only difference from the MIUI 11 camera app is the new MIUI 12 visual.

Hey @gde.spencer , can you help me to choose the right firmware?
What is the difference between Recovery and Fastboot? Or do you need both?
Which is the better version Global or EEA?

The fastboot version is installed via MiFlash whilst the phone is in fastboot mode. Use this to flash "as new".
The recovery version is like an OTA update (I think. Never used one).
I don't know which version is better (global vs eea) because I flash as a base for custom roms.
I have the Redmi Note 9s 6/128GB Global Model.
I want to flash the Indian Firmware so I will get the MIUI contacts and dialer (and call recorder).
Can someone please check if the Indian ROM has the HEBREW language, it should look like this:"עברית" under languages.
I will be glad for your help.

Thank you a lot my good friend, I will now flash it
For anyone else wondering, the Turkish fastboot ROM (QJWTRXM) installs fine on a global Note 9S (QJWMIXM). Everything works as far as I can tell, and all the languages are there (though call recording isn't, at least in the default Google Dialer app).

Recovery is the "OTA" ROM you install with MIUI's built-in update mechanism or a custom recovery like TWRP. Fastboot is a bit more low-level, you restart your phone into fastboot mode, connect it to a computer and use a program that manually overwrites the data on the phone's partitions, a bit like using dd on Linux or disk cloning/backup software. There's also EDL mode, which is the same as fastboot but it's built into the hardware itself, so it works even if you manage to brick fastboot somehow. On recent Xiaomi phones, it requires an authorized Mi account (or a patched ROM, or someone willing to sell you authorizations over the internet).
Global and EEA are pretty much the same thing, but EEA ROMs are intended for the European Economic Area (the EU) so they have to comply with additional regulations like having to let you choose your browser and search engine or something. As a side note, I live in the EU and pretty much every store over here is selling the Global variant of the 9S instead of the EEA one. Global ROMs are "better" in the sense that they tend to be more up to date (as of me writing this, global is on MIUI V11.0.11 and EEA is still stuck on V11.0.4).
