This is a permissive kernel for the the SM-T820 and SM-T825.
There is nothing special about this kernel except it will allow permissive mode. Some apps require it so it may be useful to someone.
Features:
◘ Forced Encryption disabled
◘ DM-Verity disabled
◘ Root restrictions removed
◘ NTFS support << To be added
◘ F2FS support << To be aded
◘ Current build is -XXU1AQD6 (It's preferable to be using the same firmware build or your device may not boot. however the kernel is working with firmware XXU1AQDC)
Issues:
◘ WIFI password forgotten after reboot.
NOTE: Due to Forced Encryption being disabled you MUST remove encryption from the data partition by using the FORMAT DATA button in TWRP. (THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA!)
For information how to decrypt see the TWRP thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...recovery-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-t3581359
Download (Must be flashed with ODIN)
◘ SM-T820: T820_permissive_boot_AQD6.
◘ SM-T825: SM-T825_permissive_boot_AQD6
IMPORTANT: THIS WILL TRIP THE KNOX COUNTER AND I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DECIDE TO FLASH THIS. ITS UP TO YOU TO MAKE A DEVICE BACKUP WITH TWRP OR HAVE THE STOCK FIRMWARE TO HAND!

You just need to download the stock firmware from updato.com and install with latest odin (linked in the op)

Download the latest firmware using 'Samfirm'. With this application, you must enter your device name and your region code (in your case SM-T825 and whatever your region code is) . It will give you a 'zip' with four files to flash.
Flash these four files in the latest version of 'Odin' with your tablet in 'Download' mode.

I thought as much.
OK can you pull the logs with the SYSLOG app on Google play.
Boot with the permissive kernel then connect to wifi (make sure the Neverforget app is disabled)
Post the zip it creates.
I'll see if there's anything to give me a clue.

Yes just what I need. Thanks.
So looking at the logs there is some obvious and expected errors:
Securestorage, this is the root of the problem and seems to be common with custom kernels, the reason we have to bypass secure storage with the build prop edit:

Well Samsung don't provide the code to build the wifi driver with the kernel source if that is what it is referring to, however I'm not sure what it means by 'Synchronized'. If it means kernel version then they should be the same. If it's also referring to the other modules that get built with the kernel I can include them. However I'm not sure that will fix Securestorage.
This does not appear with the stock kernel which should be the same version as the permissive kernel.

To me it seems the wifi config is being loaded, but according to the previous error Secures storage support isn't running, so how is it reading the wpa_supplicant.conf then I ask?
Also notice the text in red says 'Ignored', ignoring the wifi config?, Also 'verified password=0' not sure if this is the issue I would expect it to be 1.
Now for some reason none of this exists in the log for the stock kernel, did you do anything different?
Going off this info there is something I am going to have a look at and try in another kernel compile. The best idea would be to get secure storage working if possible.
.
@ashyx I didn't do anything different that I know of. Surely that remember password being at 0 is interesting.. Why would it say that

Ok I have recompiled and changed a couple of things. Now because I've changed 2 things, one may negate the other. It all depends how the stock kernel was built.
Give it go,also if you could pull the logs again afterwards.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767159394
By the way make sure that the ro.securestorage.support flag is set back to true if it existed.
.
Thanks to you both, ashyx n Jonathan, had it run back normal.
Will try out root later when am more confident ...lol

Dear all,
I wish share my experience, with Supernexus 2.0 Build 4.0 on my gs3, more especially with the wifi tethering.
Like most of people, i encountered the issue with the last version where wifi tether did not work, although in the release note, it is indicated as fixed.
So, like others guys, second device was properly connected to the wifi hotspot (it had an IP adress).
Ping to gateway OK... For me, all should be ok to provide internet to second device, but never.... :crying:
I decided, after many tests, wipes, re-install, to check logfile with logcat tools, and i found this :
05-06 08:29:14.255 D/Tethering(2264): notifying tethered with iface =null
...
...
05-06 08:29:20.775 D/libgps (2264): agps_ril_update_network_state: Waiting for IPC connection - timeout
05-06 08:29:20.775 E/libgps (2264): GpsiClient: Can't write to closed pipe

05-06 08:29:20.775 D/libgps (2264): proxy_agps_ril_update_network_state: called
05-06 08:29:20.775 D/libgps (2264): agps_ril_update_network_availability: Waiting for IPC connection...
05-06 08:29:21.780 D/libgps (2264): agps_ril_update_network_availability: Waiting for IPC connection - timeout
Where id 2264 is regarding the tether process in activity for my test.
So, when i read logfile, I found this very weird :
05-06 08:29:20.775 E/libgps (2264): IPC Communication Error, /tmp/11980989/proprietary/deliverables/android/gps_interface/../gps_interface/gpsi_client/GpsiClient.cpp:1143 agps_ril_update_network_state
So, by curiosity, i enabled GPS by the toggle, and a miracle appear, the wifi tethering has worked perfectly.....
My second device connected to the hospot, can browse and get data from internet.... :victory:
May be, someone (an expert) can explain this, but for the moment I wish share this workaround with all.
See you,
Manuxme.
May be relevant to us, don't know. But should be noted the ROM you mention is for the international, just in case someone gets eager and tries using it.
We have hotspot unlocked for the most recent builds of TW.

All,
About the workaround indicated yesterday by enabling the GPS, actually, it does not work !!!!
I do not why yesterday it works. When GPS turn UP wifi tether works when turn down, it does not works. A strange luck ??!!
BTW, I continu investigations, tests and founds the really root cause (already found by people on other forum) :
Code:

So, with a terminal emulator in root acces on the phone (example below in the screenshot), i launch exactly the same command line, and it works ?! :
Screenshot explanation:
1 - Check the new entry, added by the start of wifi tether process.
In orange, the exact command line launch on the terminal, in the history command line number 10.
Now, i sure, with this manual intervention, it works , the wifi tether allow other device to reach internet.
But why it failed everytime by the the normal way ? Is someone know ?
FOr the moment, i am going to try to write a shell script to add/remove the entry when necessary.
Thanks,
Manuxme.
Hey guys I have been having an issues with installing the update through OTA, I have wiped my phone, cache, and even uninstalled SS. Any idea why I cannot take the OTA update?.. Or is it better not to even take the update?

Did you remove any bloat when you rooted?
It has to be put back. Factory reset does not do that.
Same thing happened to me. I just downloaded the no wipe image from the development section and flashed via ODIN. Then rooted. Others have said that hooking up your phone and updating via KIES works.
Yeah problem is I can't update thought kies I am using my brothers s3 to teether and my phone to take update and it's getting confused. Also I don't really have the internet right now to download the whole Odin file. Think I did uninstall a few bloat ware apps how would I go back to adding them XD

There is a thread with a pull of the system. You will need to manually put them back.
I never debloat by removing apks. The hassle of needing to put them back is just not worth it.
You've got to have a lot of files in their original unmodified state before you can take the OTA update.
One example - if you've installed any of the updated drivers that allow Wallet to work, the update will fail.
The following list of files must be intact and original if the update is going to work. It's a long list:

Hi guys,
I was not planning to buy a GalaxyS5, but i was lucky to get one as gift this weekend.
One of the issues i noticed on the past two days was the SHealth incompatibility with Xposed (described on this thread), somehow if you are using Xposed framework, Secure storage will fails to process and save data, which leads to Sensor service hangs
This module bypass the secure storage checks on SHealth and Private mode services, and will let you load the SHealth App with no hangs and activate Private mode on Rooted Samsung devices running Xposed framework.
I did just the basic tests for SHealth because i don't use this App anyway, it's not easy to play football with a device on my hands/pocket .
Download
Note:
You may need to clear SHealth and Health service data (you will loose your Pedometer data).
Clearing Personal pages service will break Private mode.
Troubleshooting:
If you can't get Private mode to work after switching to Xposed, you need to go back to a stock FW and backup your private files, after that you can install Xposed and enable my module then remove "/data/system/users/privatemode_edk_1000" as advised by @invano.
Changelog:
1.0.1:
- Add Private mode support.
- App renamed from XHealth to XSecureStorage
Thanks to:
Rovo89 for his awesome work on Xposed framework and Mods.
Tungstwenty for contribution on Xposed framework and his many Mods
Working good! I had the secure storage disabled but I enabled it now and tried your module. S Health works! Thank you!
Not working for me. Getting “Health service has stopped working” about every other second. Much more frequent than before…
Maybe I am doing something wrong.
It also seems to reset everything saved in the Health Service app, or? Maybe you should have mentioned that.

No issues on the logs, which means it should be working fine, are you using the latest SHealth update? were you using any other mod to get it working before?
About the App data, i got a popup to restore my data through SHealth App and it was restored with no issues!
S health says it's the latest update.
I have not done any other mods.
I did not get a restore popup. The data was automatically restored when I uninstalled xsposed.

I am using Xposed and SHealth is working fine for me without a module. I once had a problem and I cleared the data of the app and the service and never had a problem anymore.

Are you running the latest update of SHealth?
Yes I think so. Version 3.2.3 at least there is no new version in Samsung app store.

I have noticed that the latest update to Wanam Xposed has a check box for disabled secure storage check for shealth. So can I uninstall this module and just check that box in the wanam xposed ?

Yes, you do NOT need this module if you are using Wanam xposed.

Hi guys,
I was not planning to buy a GalaxyS5, but i was lucky to get one as gift this weekend.
One of the issues i noticed on the past two days was the SHealth incompatibility with Xposed (described on this thread), somehow if you are using Xposed framework, Secure storage will fails to process and save data, which leads to Sensor service hangs
This module will let you bypass the secure storage checks on SHealth services, and load SHealth App with no hangs on Rooted devices running Xposed framework.
I did just the basic tests because i don't use this App anyway, it's not easy to play football with a device on my hands/pocket .

I have a question about your module. I am still learning about all the stuff on android. So I fixed my S Health with the Buildprop editor. Yet I am unable to get Secure Storage to work, but S HEALTH DOES. So will you app solution work? Do I have to change what I did in build.prop?

Hello!
Today I flashed the official CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightly Build (cm-12.1-20150902-NIGHTLY) ROM on my SII.
I am happy about the stagefright fixes but I can't encrypt the device anymore.

After the reboot the device wants to be unlocked but after entering the password it tells me "your password is correct but your data is corrupt, you need to reset".
Am I right about SELinux being the problem?
How can I fix this?
Cheers s0r3_x
Update:
Same errors with cm-12.1-20150903-NIGHTLY.
Works with cm-12.1-20150904-NIGHTLY!
Maybe it's better post the problem in the developer thread. Lysergic and others developer can see the log. The link is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-nightly-builds-t3147661

I made this account to post in that thread but the forum tells me that I need ten post before I am allowed to post in a developer thread.
But yes I agree it would be better to post there...

No problem to post here, @king_ahmed already mentioned me to call my attention. Sir, if SELinux is blocking encryption I need a full logcat of the issue to see what's happening.

I've already fixed the SELinux issues present in your logs. Please try the latest nightly and report if the issue persists.

The denial present in your log is that: denied { search } for name="/" dev=mmcblk0p1 ino=2 scontext=u:r:vold:s0 tcontext=ubject_r:efs_device_file:s0 tclass=dir
On this commit: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/107862/ you can see me allowing vold to search in the /efs. It was merged on September 2nd. So how's that possible?

I don't know sorry I really don't that is why I am posting here.
If you look at line 40 in the logcat_SELinux_enforce.log you see the build installed is cm-12.1-20150903.:
Code:
I/cm ( 1884): Welcome to Android 5.1.1 / CyanogenMod-12.1-20150903-NIGHTLY-i9100
Or line 13 in the logcat_SELinux_permissive.log:
Code:
I/cm ( 1880): Welcome to Android 5.1.1 / CyanogenMod-12.1-20150903-NIGHTLY-i9100
Update:
I flashed the new nightly (CyanogenMod-12.1-20150904-NIGHTLY-i9100) and tried again.
It worked!!!
Big thanks @Lysergic Acid !
Still I don't get it. It should have worked with yesterdays nightly.
@Lysergic Acid: Do you want the new logs?
Not sure where to write this, but i tried to encrypt phone several times and it failed, with todays night build (cm-12.1-20150905-NIGHTLY-i9100).
Same error: Cannot open footer file /efs/metadata. Tried both CWM and TWRP, also resized partition, to give it space for encryption key.
Code:
setprop vold.decrypt trigger_shutdown_framework
e2fsck -f /dev/block/mmcblk0p10
resize2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p10 740000
Tried to give it 16kb and 180MB, it failed... goes into reboot. Same if done via adb
Code:
vdc cryptfs enablecrypto inplace password mypass
Any ideas?
Thank you

Do you have anything under /efs/metadata? If not, this error is acceptable. Also, you don't need to resize the block of it, this is all wrong man, you're not resizing the /efs partition to be bigger, just the block of it, probably even making it smaller than the default.
Please give me a logcat of the problem when you try to encrypt the phone.

I was under impression that key was residing in the last 16KB of data partition, that's why I decreased mmcblk0p10 from 786432 to 786428 blocks, leaving 4 blocks (16KB) free.
There is no /efs/metadata file
logcat: s3.amazonaws.com/xda-share/logcat.txt
Thank you
@Lysergic Acid
Had a chance to look at log?
Thank you
Still cannot encrypt @Lysergic Acid
