I've noticed that the keyboard cover (and any external keyboard actually) does not use the shift key to create a capital letter. I recall that this was not a problem before, and I'm seeing it on all my Android devices.
How are you all resolving this?
OK, I've figured this out, and I'm typing on the keyboard cover now, and shift for capitals are working as expected.
What I did:
I looked into the input settings, and found the shortcut keys. Discovered [Meta] + [space] is the option to switch keyboards. I assumed [meta] was the search button. When I hit that combination, I saw a "Samsusng" toast pop up, and upon testing in my apps again, lo and behold, shift capitalized my letters.
Thanks for watching!

Recently I am having problems with my phone, and am wondering if it is a software or hardware problem.
I have tried loading the TNT4 rom & WS5SE roms (this is a g4), and there is no change (im on the Tnt4 one now).
The touchscreen works okay, but the soft key buttons do not. The right bottom one is okay, the left one triggers the right one, the send button show the letters "uytga" on the phone screen when i press them, the end button shows "mn" or something, the camera button works perfect, the comm manager button is the same as the voice button (even when i map it with a program it says "button 4").
It even happens on the soft keys on the keyboard when i slide it out.
Also I used Start-sSPL to put the roms on. Is there a way I can get the OEM one back on or fix the button problem?
Any help will be appreciated.
Now that several of us have keyboards attached to our gtablets, I thought it mught be useful to share a list of which keys do what. I've discovered that HOME does take you home and that ESC seems to be the back key. Others?
With mine, the End button puts the tablet in Sleep mode. Pretty cool.
Some more keys
I picked up a Gearhead KB1500U usb keyboard at Frys for $7.95. It's pretty nice, metal back, regular keys although slightly cramped netbookish layout. Its about an inch longer then the G, and about 1.5inches narrower. Playing around while typing this up I get the following:
ESC is back
Backspace works normally but delete does nothing
Windows key is preferences/menu as is F1
Home is Home (but I cant hold to bring up all running apps, and I get a weird minus sign when I try)
Application Key brings up recent pages and search choices if pressed again (at least in Firefox4)
End is sleep and wakes it back up, also F3 and F4
Space bar moves down one page in Firefox, but PgUp and PgDn do nothing (again in Firefox)
Alt-Right or Left arrow blanks the screen (it just goes black but is still back-lit) do it again and it returns, this happens instantaneously, no delay like Home
I'm coming to a TP from a Galaxy Tab 10.1, and on my old tab (with bluetooth keyboard) I couldn't do multiple simultaneous keypresses (other than shift + a letter) -- i.e I couldn't hit shift + enter at the same time, or even more annoyingly if I hit shift to capitalize a letter then quickly hit space it wouldn't pick up that space.
I'm hoping that was some sort of limitation of the keyboard/the fact that it was bluetooth and I won't see this on the TP with the keyboard dock... so can anyone with the keyboard dock confirm for me that you can do multiple simultaneous keypresses and it'll read them all at the same time?
Today while carrying my Prime on the dock while open, I randomly pressed or held a button. It produced a popup that allowed me to change my input method from the physical keyboard to an on screen Asus/Android keyboard.
This is a really cool feature (especially for typing other languages). Does anyone know how to reproduce this popup?
Did you press the "keyboard" icon that is displayed in the system tray when docked?
So, my story:
I have an Android Tronsmart s89 (ROM: 106k)
Today I realized I can't use my external keyboard's arrow keys to navigate on the desktop, menus, etc, but instead now the arrow keys are moving the cursor/mouse. Same goes for the DroidMote app navigation/touch keys, they move the mouse instead of allowing me to navigate menus, etc.
Probably one of my family members pushed some key or combination of keys by accident. Anyway, I don't know how it happened.
How can I revert this to the original/expected behavior (arrow keys should navigate and not move the cursor/mouse)?
Any help is appreciated.
