Hi, could anyone help me?
i have a xperia E5
i tried to configure my SD card as internal storage but sony disabled the option of adoptable storage.
i found some tutorials to eneable this option using a terminal and i guess reformating the SD card as private storage, or mixed storage, but, always in the partition as private, the cell phone says is damaged, doesnt matter if i format the whole SD card or just half of it, always says that the private partition is damaged.
i dont know if i xplained my self.
im not really good speaking english, so if something is not clear let me know.
and thank you for your asnwers

Hello. When trying to flash my mini X android box, I used sd card from my sgs2. After that, I inserted the card to sgs2 and rebooted.
The telephone said "Corrupted card" and asked to format. However, it formatted internal sd card!! And it doesn't see the external one.
I've tried formatting external sd to fat32. No luck.
What should I do?

Well, this may sound stupid or strange, but what I couldn't do with gParted or Windows partition was easily done by putting sd-card to my Note 10.1
My problem is solved by now. The only thing that bothers me is that my internal sd is formatted and everything's lost. If anyone knows how to recover all data, please pm me

Hi guys, I've bought this chinese clone of the SIII, it's a MT6575. It's great except for the internal storage, which supposedly is 500MB but there seems to be an invisible SD storage which is 2GB. It's really confusing... When I go to Settings -> Storage there are 3 memories: "Internal Storage" (claims to be 4GB but it's fake, it's actually 500MB), "Phone Storage" (claims to be 16.5GB but it's probably 2GB), and finally my SD, "SD Card" (32GB).
The thing is, I'm having problems downloading big apps because apps go to "Internal Storage" which is 500MB only, and I have no idea which files are stored in the "Phone Storage" (maybe internal & phone are actually the same?). However when I go to Settings -> Apps, on the "Downloaded" tab, the apps are in "Internal Storage" (500MB), and on the "On SD Card" tab, it shows that apps are in "Phone Storage" (the ones I moved to SD). This means my 32GB SD isn't being used by the system when I send apps to SD probably.
Also, my 32GB SD card is found in /mnt/sdcard2, and the /mnt/sdcard... I don't know which storage is that.
So basically all this is happening because I tried to Link2SD with my 32GB SD doing all the 2 partitions stuff and so, but Link2SD never detects the "secondary SD" which is the 32GB SD, as this fake SD card, "Phone Storage", is probably what the programs thinks to be the SD card.
I know this is so confusing, plus my English is rubbish. I'd really appreciate if someone could help me out and give me a hand on Link2SD'ing my 32GB SD instead of doing it with the fake internal one so I can move my apps there. Thanks a bunch in advance.
Anyone?
This is actually the case for lots of new phones.
My xperia sp has 5gb internal sd card and I have a 32gb external sd card.
The phone still uses the internal as primary memory though which is annoying like you say.
As your phone is a chinese clone im not too sure, but on the xperia sp dev forum theres a script that will swap them.
Personally i use link2sd with ext4 partition.
Which partition did you create?
You could try making another and see if link2sd detects it

Thanks for replying. I've been googling and there's a method for swapping the internal/external memories changing some lines in the vold.fstab file. I'll try that and see if it works.
And about the link2sd, the problem is it only detects the internal SD, not my one.
Solved. Changed the vold file and had to do a battery pull for the changes to make effect. AParted partitioned the SD like a charm.
Now I'm figuring out how Link2SD works - I'm a complete noob to Android (this S3 clone is the first droid I've had and I bought it 10 days ago). Can someone please explain me how it works? I mean, what does linking do and my internal mem is 0.5GB, can I still install an app that weighs like 1GB?
Thanks

Hi,
I own an Acer Liquid Z630 that I successfully rooted following this guide. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and installed the SU zip, everything's working perfectly.
But during the process, my phone somehow decided to "switch" internal storage and external SD card, making SD card the default storage. SD card is now labelled as sdcard0 and internal memory as sdcard1, while it should be the opposite, and apps data are now written on the SD card instead of the internal memory.
When I unmount the SD card, internal storage becomes default storage again and is correctly labelled as sdcard0, but as soon as I mount it again, the same problem happens.
I want default storage to always be internal storage, even if the SD card is mounted, like it was before. I don't want my phone to write any file on my SD card, I only want files I put myself to be on my SD card.
I tried factory reset, but it remained the same. I did a little searching and saw a lot of threads with people asking how to make SD card the default storage (in my case, that's the exact opposite), but apparently, on Lollipop there's no way to change default storage. But it did change when I rooted my phone...
I also thought about updating to Marshmallow, as I heard storage is managed differently, but there's no official upgrade by Acer, and I could'nt find any unofficial port for Z630.
This has been bothering me for quite a while now and I don't konw what to do anymore, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I have an UNROOTED ACER LIQUID Z630 and it does the same.
Its not a matter of it being rooted or not; every time you mount an SD card, memory option nº1 for the mobile is SD card.
Hi partners! This is my first post here.
I have a Moto E LTE, installed Surnia on it, and it worked perfectly until now.
I've been using it only with the internal Storage, but now i wanted to expand.... so i bought a Kingston 16GB Micro SD Card Class 10.
I turned off te phone, inserted it, turned it on. The card was detected... I had to pick between using it as a Internal or External storage... and here's the thing. Either option follows with the formating of the card, and in both cases, the process abruptly ends at 30%. After that, the card is no longer readed by the phone.
I can remove and reinsert the card, and it will read it again, but the process still ends abruptly at formating.
Any clue? Any help?
I would be very thankfull.
I've search previously to make shure no one else posted the same question and i didn't find it. If it was answered in the past, im sorry i didn't find it.
Thanks so much, and excuse my bad english.
Pablo from Argentina.
Hey Pablo, 2 cases, bad formatting or bad card. Use a Card reader on your PC and format the card separately using FAT (choose the full format option), this will help identify if the card is physically damaged, if all's well, then put the card in your phone and choose the formatting option and most likely should work. If the formatting fails, most likely you have a bad card, google for other low lever formatting utilities to see if they can identify any bad sectors on the card.
Use Caution read up on what Internal and External storage well before you choose one of the options. Search for term Adoptable storage on Marshmallow and should give you a good idea.
