I have some apps scheduled to perform some tasks such as backuping their databases to G-drive, transferring files to SD card or to my home FTP Server. They are not working unless I open the app. by example one app is scheduled to perform a backup every day. I discovered that it is not doing then and when I just open it, it performed the scheduled task.
So far I did the following but still not working:
-turn off memory optimization in developer options
-turn off "power saving mode" under battery > manage apps battery usage
-set the background settings to "No restriction" for these apps under battery>Power>app battery saver
it seems the system is still killing the apps in the background.
Can you help me to fix this?

I do not have any email/facebook/twitter set up on my phone at all and I have removed all Samsung hubs.
When I go to Settings > Applications > Running Services I see "Email" running 2 processes and 1 Service.
The Service is: ODEService
The processes are: Email (com.android.email) and Social Hub (com.seven.z7.service)
1) What are these processes/services and is there any reason these keep popping up even though I have removed all Samsung Hubs?
2)Also, in titanium backup there are two apps listed "Email 1.0" and "Email 3.0.0.1" are these Android apps or Samsung Apps?
fyi, I'm just investigating my excessive battery drain on light useage.
Thanks!
Hi

i installed too many apps in my phone
my problem is the programs and tasks which run in my RAM
for example i dont want yahoo gmail facebook apps run in my memory and check my notifications automatically when internet is available
it seems good but i dont want it happen
i just want to have these apps and run them whenever i need them
i tried to force close applications , but when i reset the phone all apps will run again
some application like google+ or youtube dont close at all
How can i manage my memory and apps in my favor ?
maybe go to settings, accounts and sync, and make sure that these apps aren't on auto-sync?
If as you say you have too many apps your best option is to uninstall those apps that you don't absolutely need.
It sounds like you're asking for two things: you don't want those apps to automatically sync and you don't want those apps to automatically start up. For syncing turn off the auto sync settings for those apps so that they will only update manually. Then use an app like Autostarts, SystemCleanup, or Gemini App Manager to stop those apps from automatically starting (on boot, after a change in your connectivity, etc.). If that doesn't work you could try freezing the app then unfreezing them as needed. You can use an app like App Quarantine to create widgets to freeze/unfreeze a particular app with one click.
Doing this will only get you so far. Like I said before you'll get the best results by getting rid of all unnecessary apps.
Hello there..
Got the Lenovo A806, and i installed the VIBEUI_V2.0_1501_7.80.1_DEV_A806 ROM and it's Android version 4.4.2 .. yesterday i saw the synce on any account, include Google, is off [with this gray circle and text saying Sync is OFF] and i can only sync it manually by tap, since then i tried many things from online and by trying many phone options for many hours, but the Auto sync is still off and woun't come back..
I did saw many places when they say it's under data usage manu, enabling "Auto sync" option there, but checking thoroughly in my manus i didn't find anything speaking on Sync options, besides SHAREit or SYNCit built in apps which has someoptions but it has nothing to do with, also with many built in apps, theres' this green Security app which is very "control freak" and is all over the place, and it has data usage monitoring thing, so from remembering all the data usage references from the web, along with the fact the Auto Sync stopped from a week ago [So i saw last sync for all accounts was May 28], which is the date i remember i was almost finished all my operator data usage of 3GB, and that Security app gave me a notification and sort of Red Alert about me going to exceeding the limit, so from that i was thinking that it [the Security app] was blocing to auto sync option for reduce data usage or something like that, so i tried to unlock frozen apps and tried to clean it's catch and data from "apps", also playing with the data saver options, same to data "firewall apps", and there's no reset or restore to defaults option, so i think tried everything..
Can someone help please? any ideas why it doesn't Auto Sync any account? include Waze Hotmail an Corporate..
It's very important to me to have it autoSync as for everybody i guess so please someone to help, it will be very much appreciated!
Thanks and have a great day!
Hi all,
I have a new Galaxy S8 and am having major issues with notifications. The key applications I am noticing issues with are Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, and Hangouts.
I am getting notifications for all of these apps very late, and when they arrive, it is usually all at once for each app. Then, I will keep getting the same notifications after they have been cleared almost every hour.
Gmail recently stopped giving me notifications at all, and my Gmail app doesn't show recent e-mails like it isn't Syncing. Sometimes a refresh will show new messages.
Here's what I've done:
- Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced | Enabled for these apps. I actually haven't disabled notifications for any apps.
- Settings -> Apps -> Special Access -> Optimize Battery Usage | OFF for these apps.
- Settings -> Device Maintenance -> Battery -> Power Saving Mode is OFF. App power monitor is OFF.
- Settings -> Cloud and Accounts -> Accounts -> Google | Accounts are set to Sync Everything. The last synced timestamps are recent.
Do Not Disturb mode is also turned off.
What am I missing? I don't have any task managers that are killing apps periodically either. Some background services like Fitbit, AutomateIt Pro, and TripLog Mileage don't respond to triggers as well.
I'm afraid my thread has gotten lost? I can't be the only one with this problem. In fact, my wife, who now has the exact same phone I do, is having the same problems.
I can't seem to find any other fixes than my OP. Help!
I started having the same problems on my s8+, that's wierd.
I'm running Nougat on a BV8000 (huge regret), and I was using data saver today because i was roaming in the US. My Canadian carrier gives me 1 GB of US data per month. I have a work profile on the phone.
While we were in the US, Android OS consumed 500 MB of data. The only apps that were granted unrestricted access were:
Personal profile
Calendar
Find my device
Google fit
Gmail
Google search
Google Calendar Sync
Google Play Services
Hangouts
IFTTT
Keep notes
Android Messages
Facebook messenger
Tile
Toodledo
Whatsapp
Work Profile
Gmail
Google search
Hangouts
Keep notes
TextNow
Google Play Services
Whatsapp Business
When I first noticed the problem, after the first 200 MB or so, I also enabled datally and blocked access to Android OS. Despite this, the number kept going up. When I click on Android OS under App data usage, I get a list of about 20 apps whose usage are included under Android OS usage. I went through those apps individually under the "Apps" menu in settings and each had the same data usage, a few hundred kb - not remotely enough to add up to 500 MB.
I've captured bug reports (with bug cache set to 16 mb), but I don't know what I'm looking for or if it is even in there. Do Android bug reports include information about which apps were sending/receiving data? If not, is there something else I can do on an unrooted (root not an option) phone to capture either which apps are sending/receiving despite data saver, or what IP addresses are being accessed so I can try to trace back? I also have screenshots of the list of apps included under "Android OS" if that would be helpful.
