i have whatsapp activated in an Android phone and I want to move it to another without confirmation code cause my sim is deactivated permanently . any idea please ?
Old phone is sony z2
New phone is samsung j5 prime
Thanks
I found this handy help page on WhatsApp's official site with a quick Google search:
http://www.techbout.com/whatsapp-without-phone-number-sim-5365/
Hope it helps!
Thanx but that is not what i need, i want to move the WhatsApp ( which is already activated long time ago )with all its chat to another phone without verifying code because the sim card is permanently disabled and i want to activate the WhatsApp with that lost sim card number. Am i clear now?
Doesn't WhatsApp have like a cloud backup thing? That is what I use when I flash new roms. Anyway, my second suggestion would probably be to titanium backup it using guess what, titanium backup (though that would require you to have root access).

I don't think you can, unless you email WhatsApp support and ask them for a way to do it.
I'd have to agree with @RAZERZDAHACKER that the easiest method to switch the app between phones is with Titanium Backup.
Here are the steps you'll need:
How to root Sony Z2
How to root Samsung J5 Prime
How to install and use Titanium Backup
Transferring Titanium Backups to SD card
Enjoy!

Anyone intertested in installing whatsapp on your tablet s?
- need root and rooted android phone
I know this method from my asus transformer but it works here also now we have root.
- root your phone
- install whatsapp on your phone
- install TB (titanium back up) on your phone
- with TB make a back up of whatsapp
- open file manager on your phone and look for TB folder
- take the 3 files with the whatsapp name in them and move these to your tablet s
- root your tablet
- install TB on your tablet
- open TB on your tablet
- in file manager go to TB folder
- move the 3 whatsapp files taken from the phone and place them in the TB folder
- open TB and "restore" your whatsapp
You now have whatsapp on your tablet s using the phone number of you mobile phone
Whatsapp wont like it when you have 2 sessions with the same phone number so it is a good idea to do this with another sim card in your phone, this than will be your tablet s phone number.
Just tested it and it works great, you CAN see the names of your contacts to if you enable it in menu :
in whatsapp :
- settings button
- settings
- more
- show all contacts
Easy as that
If there are problems just ask
Ive installed whatsapp on my cheap ass qware pro 3 running ics, This must work on other devices aswell i guess.
1) Go to your contact list on your mobile phone, From the menu "import/export" choosse "export to sd".
2)Copy the exported file to your tablets SD card.
3)Install whatsapp on your tablet from the market or the official wbsite.
4)In whatsapp you fill in an old number of a mobile that still works (whatsapp cant be on 1 phone number on 2 devices), Or like i did fill in your "house phone, land line" number.
5)Whatsapp now wants to verify your number. choosse to recieve the confirmation code by phone call.
6)Enter the code and voila a working whatsapp.
7)Import the contact list file you placed on the SD card and you now have your complete contact list in whatsapp.
Happy texting!

Hi, I have tried this method on my HP TP with CyanogenMOD CM9 Alpha 2 , but when I open the program, and click the I agree button, a message pops up and says Whatsapp curerntly doesn't work on Tablets and didn't even gave me e a chance to enter anything. Anyway to get around that?
Everyone! I managed to make WHATSAPP work on my tablet using the following procedure:
1. Registered my no. with whatsapp on my phone.
2. Used titanium backup to backup the app.
3. Restored the app + data
4. When it starts, it may say that the tablet isn't compatible.
5. Kill the app and restore only the data.
6. Run the app and voila!
If you don't have a smart phone how can i install this app on my tablet.
is there a way like getting data out of a virtual android system on PC?
Im managed to run a virtual android system on PC with a working wathsapp and i can talk to my friends because virtual 3G but i want this on tablet to that use only wifi connection.
Root my tablet is atm not possible because kernel 10. (Sony Tablet S)
Well it doesnt matter, smartphone or virtual. If ur tab isnt rooted, you cant do a thing. Use condi's guide to root it. Either use pre-rooted ics or upgrade to 3.2.1r2 which might change the kernel. Then you can do whatsapp on ur tab.
Im not sure if that would be possible to pre root ect. Android 4.0.3 kernel 2.6.39.4 build 9#1 tab comes from USA.

This is already on ICS - currently there is no root for ICS. Sorry.
OM
I gona check out for it.
Whatsapp from Wildfire S running CM7 to Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (rooted)
What would be a strategy to get the Whatsapp app ported from the CM7-based device to an ICS based one? TB has the app disabled (name has a strike-through effect), and it doesn't install onto tablet.
Ideas?
Can I get the messages on both units (phone and tablet)?

How to run Whatsapp on WiFi Android tablet - No root required
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112011
I have a problem on my Galaxy S3, running android 4.1.1 on Vodafone network in the UK. It is not rooted.
I want to make sure the phone is unlocked before buying a sim card for use in France
Using the stock dialer, "*#7465625#" gives me "ussd code running" followed by "Unknown command".
Looking around elsewhere, others have blamed it on Mobile Tracker, which as far as I can see, I don't have. The only solution I have seen is a factory reset, which is a scary prospect for me, not having any idea what that entails. And then reinstalling apps one by one until the culprit is found. I have also seen comments about ussd security issues. I am slowly heading out of my depth here (I know my way round windows quite well, but phones are unknown territory for me,).
I am hoping some clever souls on this forum might be able to help. Is this a known, and solved, problem? Or is a factory reset my best bet?
If I have to reset, I know where the reset is in the menu system - on the same page as a checked box saying backup. So...does does the back up happen automatically or when I press reset or have I got it completely wrong? If not, which files do I need to save away from the phone? What happens to things like contacts I can remove the external SD card, so that won't be an issue. How do I reinstall the apps, particularly the ones I have already paid for?
I have spent most of the afternoon tried to get a handle on this and my head is spinning now.
Any help at all, would be very warmly received.
Polly
1st solution : root your phone, very easy procedure then you can flash the same stock ROM from sammobile.com to become unrooted again without wiping/resetting your phone.
2nd solution: download APPSAVER from market for free, then you can save all the applications you have downloaded but not the DATA (for example you can save the game itself but not the progress you have achieved)
as for the contacts, go to the contacts folder - menu import/export - export to usb storage and voila all your contacts will be written in a single file that you can import after you reset your phone
as for SMS, you can download "SMS Backup & Restore" from market for free to backup then restore your SMSs
after you perform the above, go to Settings - Back up and reset - Factory data reset and your phone will be back as you received it.
On the other hand if the phone is locked you can always unlock it using Voodoo S3 on the Play Store, it can sim-unlock your device if you're rooted of course.
Great reply, thank you!
Rooting...a bit loth to do that while still under guarantee and at my level of experience. One day I will get hold of an old phone and try it with that first.
Appsaver - what a brilliant app, thank you again. If it is one particular app that is the problem (and that is the sense that I get from elsewhere), then I can use this to back up my apps, uninstall them all, check for the ussd error. If it has disappeared, then reinstall apps one at a time until the error reappears. If it hasn't disappeared, then I can go the reset route, after backing up contacts and SMS.
Thank you so much for your help.

Ah. The more I try to read up on this, it feels the more lost I get.
How do I check whether the phone is unlocked...borrow someone's micro sim card?
Hopefully this is in the right forum... But I am using the HSBC Banking app and recently moved over to this Digital Security key they are offering. Today I updated the ROM on my phone and it has stopped recognising the password as correct and won't allow me to log in, I'm guessing it stored a file somewhere on my phone and now that file is missing? Dunno...
Anyway, fortunately I took a full system backup before updating so hopefully i'll be able to restore to that and it will start working again, but my question is for anyone that has been in this situation too, is there a way that in the future I can avoid this? Is there a file I can backup or something that anyone knows of? I tried using Titanium and restoring the apk data but that didn't do the job either.
It's going to be really annoying if I have to ring HSBC everytime I update my phone :/
So thanks for reading everyone and thanks for any help!
Hello there,
Did you find a solution to your problem ?
I have the exact same issue with HSBC secure key connection and the fact that doing a full update of a ROM disconnect the password/login of this HSBC app. And the only solution is to call them back to reset the password -> really annoying.
Have you try a back up app ? And restoring the data afterward ?
Cheers,
Nicolas

That won't work. I've taken a full backup of app+data with Titanium Backup and restored it after doing a ROM update. It works for other banking apps but not for HSBC - automatically the login gets invalidated and you need to call HSBC to get the digital secure key reactivated on the new ROM.
I have an Xperia P device rooted (running on stock jelly bean) , I have WhatsApp activated with a number whose SIM card I don't have now, I have been using the WhatsApp with that particular number for years now. However, I have new galaxy s8, I want to use that same WhatsApp with that particular number, however the issue is the WhatsApp asks for verification again and again on galaxy s8.
I tried adb backup of old device for WhatsApp app, the restore completes however still WhatsApp asks for verification. I tried different combinations, like same version of WhatsApp on both phones, with and without Android data, but yet none of these combinations work. The problem is that the activation key or something is in one of the root folders to restore them in galaxy s8 would require me to root it, but I don't want to do that. is there any way someone could help me to restore my WhatsApp? I even tried helium, but WhatsApp has disabled backup of its app and data.
Edit: I even tried to backup my whatsapp data with titanium and then tried to push the whatsapps data folder with adb push command but permission was denied.. any way how I can put my whatsapp data Please help I dont want to lose my whatsapp account
So, first of all I have root and I'll be able to follow any tutorial.
I'm currently using GBWhatsapp (modded version) but as Whatsapp Inc. is again banning mod clients I have to migrate to the original version.
The big problem is: I lost my sim card.
I have a rooted device, Titanium Backup, etc.
Any chance to keep my whatsapp account and migrate to original version? I'm not sure if I'm being specific in my problem description.
Please, help. I don't want to lose my whatsapp number.
Any help?
I am doubtful you can keep your number without the sim card, unless you can get a replacement sim.
However you could note all the groups to which you are on whatsapp and all your important contacts and then follow the information in this link. [-you will have to google this as I apparently cant create links as I am a newbee... Ho hum..]
techbout.com whatsapp-without-phone-number-sim-5365
Then rebuild your whatsapp with a new number.
Hope this helps
