Also Fixed, but FW Flash is a problem
HI,
I just wanted to comment on this, in the hope that some more experienced member, or even TheStrix would see it.
I've had the exact same problem over the last few days, but have been able to fix it each time by reflashing recovery from miFlash in edl mode;
Flashing the firmware from TheStrix (Latest, kenzo) without fail, bricks the Redmi Note 3, only being able to get to FastBoot. I'm able to switch to EDL on the PC with that batch file that's floating about, and flash recovery through miflash. I've been on LineageOS14 for the past few weeks, but my phones been barely usable with lag. Switched to AOSPX the other day by first flashing the FW;
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Backups
3. Wipe everything except for sd
4. Flash FW
5. Flash AOSPEx
6. Flash Gapps
7. Clear Cache
8. Reboot
That was the first time, and brick... as described above, back to recovery- tried missing out GAPPS- same result..
I went through a few different combinaitons, so have gotten quite used to the EDL mode miFlash...
Back through EDL.. flash recovery.. JUST AOSPEx, booted fine. Setup, etc, back to recovery, GAPPS, reboot, setups, etc.All working good- Except no power button
So I once again went back to recovery and flashed just the FW (Fully expecting it might fail)- Sure enough.. BRICK... So just, I've gone back through the miFlash, installed recovery, but then just decided to try rebooting from recovery into my existing AOSPEx- All works fine- Even the power button now- Was that fixed by the FW? And the bigger thing I'm wondering, since everytime I've flashed the FW it's resulted in a brick-does that mean the FW's not working? When I re flash the recovery, am I back to original FW?
Am I now on the new FW?
Only other thing is I don't have root... I'll see if I can find a supersu to flash, I guess.
So tl;dr- I'm all up and working- but flashing the latest FW form TheStrix appears to brick the Note 3 every time. I can only get a rom to install by NOT first flashing the FW. Flashing the FW after a rom still bricks. And I don't know if it is actually flashed with the new fw after re-installing recovery.
Edd.

It's because you haven't unlocked officially. TheStrix's firmware contains MM bootloader which relocks your bootloader if you're in LP bootloader(which is your bootloader if you've unlocked unofficially). If you've already unlocked officially then flash the latest MIUI dev ROM(which relocks your bootloader) then unlock again, TheStrix's firmware will now work.
Or you can just unzip the Firmware then remove emmc_appsboot.mbn(MM bootloader) then rezip it again. You'd still get problems flashing the latest LineageOS Roms if you don't update your bootloader though. So my advice is unlock officially.

Try This guide http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html and this guide make a deep flash cable and download the latest fastboot rom and follow the first link http://en.miui.com/thread-380827-1-1.html

One Plus X soft (?) bricked

Hi guys,
Before you say again a topic on a non bricked One Plus X, I would like to let you know that I've checked and try almost all of the tutorial I've seen on xda and one plus forum.
I was on CM14.1 with this ROM : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-14-onyx-t3452150
Unfortunately, I made the 25-12-2016 update and it totally broke up the phone..
I download the OnePlus X OxygenOS 3.1.4 on the One Plus website. So I flash it on the stock recovery, it tells me "Install success" then I reboot and it stays on the bootlogo.
For information, I can't access the oem unlock menu if needed, but when I ask the oem device info it says unlocked. The phone is detected by the computer sometimes with unknown device and sometimes correctly with the qualcomm drivers..
I have a back up made from TWRP, I can access the device by the fastboot mode, it seems that all the operations written here worked but it doesn't install or even boot on TWRP..
Thanks for your help guys.
Are you using latest TWRP from website think version 3.0.3?

I'm not even using TWRP, since I can't boot on it.. But I tried to flash the twrp-3.0.2-2 from blue spark v41, after the installation via Flashboot, it doesn't boot up on the recovery..
So after flashing TWRP you use fastboot boot recovery.img and nothing happens?

If you did not unlocked bootloader properly then also you might face the problem...
to unlock bootloader: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/discussion-how-to-root-oneplus-x-t3242830
make sure you follow all the step. (If you didn't followed these steps then lock bootloader {fastboot oem lock} and unlock using this mathod, worked for me.)

Start by seeing if you can fastboot flash stock recovery from any 2.X.X OOS. Then fastboot flash twrp 3.0.2. If your on new bootloader meaning latest ROMs or OOS3 then you need to boot into 3.0.2 and from there you can flash IMG of twrp 3.0.3. Make sure you boot right back into recovery after flashing any twrp or it won't stick. This worked for me when I lost my recovery twice but always remember at your own risk. Not responsible if you make your phone into a paper weight.
Fix It!

Phone won't boot! please help

Hi guys
So the phone was working just fine, I wanted to update TWRP and I think I got the wrong image by mistake (I think I downloaded the Mi5 ZCX twrp), flashed it with flashify and when I rebooted nothing shows on the screen, the phone keeps vibrating every 10 seconds and when it's connected to PC I can hear it connecting then disconnecting after 2 seconds when it vibrates, I can't go into recovery nor bootloader, DID I JUST BRICK MY PHONE PERMANENTLY?
Please help guys..

Hi guys
I've fixed the issue using SP flash tool, downloaded the latest MIUI 8.1.7.0 Global Stable for MTK and tried to flash it using SP flash tool, plugged the cable in just after the phone vibrates, the flashing doesn't go all the way but it somehow reset the phone and it booted up to the system with no issues, I re-flashed the correct TWRP for my device and all is good now.
Thank you

1. Your device isn't booting, it's just pops up mi logo when we long press Power button.
So, the solution?
I'm telling you one thing that, I don't know about flashing Miui roms, I'll suggest you to flash custom rom, there after you can flash Miui once you gets your device booted successfully.
Now, download these files ~
*. Firmware.zip
*. LineageOS 14.1 latest build
*. Gapps
And Put em' all inside your SD card, Insert your SD Card to your device. Booting into fastboot mode? - Use this combination ~ Power key + volume down.
Then, go to fastboot mode and type fastboot boot <whatevertherecoveryname.img> give it some time, it'll boot to TWRP.
Once you gets twrp, from twrp choose wipe > advanced wipe > wipe everything except internal and SD card > then go back to main menu of twrp choose install» choose downloaded firmware.zip flash it, once it's done, locate unofficial LineageOS rom.zip and let it flash, it done? Then at last choose gapps.zip, flash it.
After this process, hit reboot. [/HIDE]

Phone won't boot, no matter what. Please help!

My phone recently started acting weird, randon crashes and reboots. It was on stock MiUI rooted. Unofficial bootloader unlock.
So I thought to flash RR rom, but it didn't work. It won't boot. The thing was that the bootloader unlock was not properly done, but whatever I try to do, it can't be done (which was done before with ease - unofficially).
So I decided to go back to stock MiUI and request for official unlock. But this thing won't even boot now! I tried 3 different versions of MiUI out of which 2 were used before and worked perfectly fine.
I tried the latest 7.9.7 also. Does not boot. Shows Mi logo for a few seconds and it shuts down.
I can boot to fastboot, recovery and EDL. But that's all. Won't boot to Android.
Used Mi Flash different versions too. Shows flash successful everytime.
Is my phone dead? Or any hope of reviving it? Please help.
Try unlocking the bootloader again it will be fine
Don't panic, just edl flash, a latest fastboot global developer rom, from mi flash tool..
It can take 25 mins after flashing to turn on the device.
Also please be sure to charge ur device to half hour maybe battery is drained off..

1. DONT PANIC
2. There are 2 choices: Go into Fastboot-->Then go into EDL--> Then, flash TWRP(first way) and reboot phone @ (second way), flash to original MIUI using the appropriate software

Try flashing via latest miflash tool and China developer ROM
I had this issue when I accidentally didn't flash LazyFlasher after installing a Marshmallow ROM.
Don't worry, its pretty easy to recover from this. Download the Global Stable ROM (The global dev didn't work for me, somehow) and MiFlash tool. Flash the rom and wait. The first boot takes about 15 mins, be patient. If that doesn't work, try with the some other stock ROM.
Also, are you making sure that you're selecting "flash all" in the miflash tool?

I downloaded from the official site. And on MiFlash I just select the extracted folder and click flash.
I fixed this issue by using the latest version of mi flash(2017.4.25) and the global rom(8.5.6) and following the UPDATED tutorial from here,
just scroll down https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/kate-guide-install-lineage-os-locked-t3546154
It took quite a while for the phone to boot into the os after flashing so if it looks like it's stuck on the boot screen just leave it

IK this is an old post but that is a such a stupid advice. It takes 5-15 minutes max. Keeping your device on for that long will only drain it's battery more. Rather you than just forget you have turned on your device. But don't forget to keep it plugged in so it keeps charging at the same time.
But this will only affect the device in a negative way as it will only get hotter by every minute. So it's better to turn off the device for some time by disconnecting the battery or if possible in some other simple way. And try booting it later and see if it boots again in 5-10 minutes, otherwise you have some other problem.

Redmi Note 4 SD Freeze and Shutdown every 50 seconds.

Hi.
I flash this recovery from this thread --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...-development/unofficial-twrp-3-1-1-1-t3709034
I wipe every thing in the recovery.
Mark all cheks and select wipe.
I flash the latest slim stable 2.0 whit gapps and reboot the phone normal.
The phone boot first freeze and then reboot.
And then the nightmare has begin.
No matter what rom i flash its the same on all ROMS.
ALL !
Offical MIUI 9 whit MiFlash.
LoS 14,1 LoS 15.
AOSP.
I flash different recovery:
Redwolf, Official TWRP, TWRP for project treble for the new LOS 15.1
I remove the sd card.
Format all partition to different file system :ext4 , f2fs all the same.
Flash a different Firmware.
Boot freeze and the phone reboot.
When the phone enter in any custom recovery it dose`n reboot after 50 sec.
It only happened buy it booting the system.
I dont have any idea what to do.
This recovery from this man brick my phone.
Problem solve thanks to the @ArK96.
Solution 1:
Enter in EDL mode if you bootloader is unlocked --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...ool-redmi-note-4-edl-mode-o-removing-t3684024
Solution 2
Open the phone and enter in test point if your bootloader is locked --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0vjrA9S0p0
Use V8.1.10.0.MCFMIDI (http://bigota.d.miui.com/V8.1.10.0....DI_20161228.0000.00_6.0_global_7557bfe334.tgz and unziped to qualqom hub bin where the program exe is.
Fallow his thread whit qualcom flasher. --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/how-to-fix-totally-dead-redmi-note-4-t3746465
One more time big thanks to @ArK96 and his assist in Skype to solve this software problem.
If was not him i will be whit no phone right now.

Bro! Flash Red Wolf TWRP. Check System, Data and Cache and swipe to wipe them. Flash the latest firmware. Then flash ROM & GApps package then reboot. You don't need to wipe every partition.

I erase the boot and recovery from fastboot.
Flash redwolf recovery.
Enter the recovery.
Try to wipe the partitions but it write cant mount the data and the cache.
So i manual wipe data to exfat and the to ext4.
I do the same whit the cache and finaly it mount the partitions.
So i normaly flash the latest stable firmware (i try whit old one) Los 14.1 whit gapps and reboot.
The phone boot to the boot animation freeze and reboot.
Then start loading again this time boot the Los 14.1 but a few seconds later the phone freeze and reboot.
I happened again and again.
I can`t even take a logicat to get some info why is this happened.
I am 100% sure this problem come from this gay recovery.
Why i flash this old recovery.
What i was think it.

Even the Miflash don`t want to flash a official rom.
I dont know how this recovery mess my phone but it destroy it completly.
A have to found a way to flash stock official Miui and send it whit lock bootloader to the buyers and use the warranty.
If some one have ideas to help.
I am open for suggestions.

Bruh! I don't know whether this will work but it is worth a try.
Boot into EDL mode and then use MiFlash to flash Official MIUI. You can visit this thread HERE, to know how to boot into EDL.
No guarantees but worth a try, since your bootloader is locked it's the only way I suppose.

Hmm. I don't think you quite understood what I said. If fastboot is working on your use it enter EDL mode using the tool I mentioned before and then use MiFlash to flash MIUI. Using MiFlash on EDL mode doesn't require bootloader unlocking.

I am desperate.

Hey there! Don't worry I faced exactly same issue! If you go to service center those idiots will tell you to replace motherboard which is 80% of cost of phone itself. Well they are idiot! I fixed my phone myself! Its not hardware issue! You just messed up your system partitions! Believe me I Know your case! Phone would just boot up successfully then reboot after freezing! Right? Here is the solution: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/how-to-fix-totally-dead-redmi-note-4-t3746465
This guide is written by me only! If you face any problem then feel free to ask! Best of luck!

Do you have unlocking permissions from Xiaomi? If yes then thats very good news for you! Actually you don't need miui in order to unlock bootloader if you are not logged into device using mi account which im pretty sure of as you are not on miui. I would recommend you to download latest mi unlock tool and unlock your device! I think it will be unlocked successfully if your mi account has unlocking permissions!
Let me tell you, you need to add account in developers options only when you are on miui and you mi account is logged in on the device! In your case you are neither on miui not logged in with mi account on device so it will unlock! Trust me I was in same place as you! Just breathe in and out and follow this:
* Download mi unlock tool
* Start mi unlock tool and login with you mi account which had permissions
* Connect your phone in fastboot mode
* Click on unlock and it will unlock successfully then you are good to go!

You are quite not getting what I am trying to say! Just strictly follow the steps:
1) Download Mi unlock tool
2) Run the tool and login with you mi account ( it doesn't matter if you are logged into miui or not)
3) Connect your phone to PC in fastboot mode (power+ volume down button)
4) Your phone will be detected as Mi device in unlock tool
5) Click on unlock and it will be completed
First of all do this then proceed with anything else! Its late so I'm going to sleep! Will check back on you in the morning! If you face any problem then keep me posted along with screenshots! Hope it helps!

It is not bootloop..it is hardbricked..same like mine
No solution yet because of xiaomi locked flashing by user via edl mode.
i found solution ;
And tutorial is mine
What should to do in case of infinite reboot on REDMI logo after stock rom flashed?
1) If Bootoader is unlocked, enter twrp; If it is closed, try to unlock it, if it is the same pc and account for first unlock can be unlock.
2) Install the twrp version of stock rom (can find on web)
if boots very good to rescue
3) Re-install stock rom from fastboot with flash_all.bat (dont wipe on installed, let it wipe itself.)
Use MiFlash20191206.zip , this miflashtool saves my life
4) If the device is turned on, should be turned 99% percent, You can use unlocked bl or lock with flash stock rom with flash lock script.
Congratulations you fixed the problem!!!

What to do in case REDMI logo restarts when stock rom is loaded
1) If Bootoader is turned on, enter twrp; If it is closed, try to open it, if it is the same pc and account, it opens for your luck.
2) Install the twrp version of stock rom
3) Re-install stock rom with flash_all.bat without wipe
MiFlash20191206.zip this miflashtool saves my life
4) If the device is turned on, should be turned on 99% lock yourself with flash all lock and continue on the road
Congratulations you fixed the problem
