[HELP] Can't restore SMS (mmssms.db) files in messaging app? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Running Galaxy S4 with Stock 5.0.1 rom. Device is rooted. I had backed up mmssms.db file, BUT NOT mmssms.db-shm and mmssms.db-wal files.
Today i copied back (overwrote old one) mmssms.db to the original location /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony folder with chmod 660 is preserved, i CANNOT see my restored SMSes even after reboot.
There is something wrong. I also wonder why mmssms.db file is NOT being updated eventhough messaging is going on?
Please, i need an urgent help!
Thanks a lot!

[Q] Help With Safely Merching/Removing "0" Folder In 4.2.1

Hello there.
Running Samsung Galaxy S III with CyanogenMod 10.
One day I made a backup of my phone via ClockWorkMod like every good boy should, and updated to CyanogenMod 10.1
After a few minutes I realized I didn't exactly what 10.1 just yet, and wanted to switch back to 10.
So I went to ClockWorkMod and restored my backup.
Now in my folder, I have all of the normal folders in the /sdcard/ directory, but I also have a 0 folder (which I found is a feature in 4.2.1 to allow for multiple users or something of that sort?).
Basically I want to safely remove the "0" folder, but merage all of the goodies in it with the stuff in my /sdcard/ folder, so it will be back to the way it was before I got 10.2/4.2.1 and just have all of my stuff on my /sdcard/ area.
How should I go about doing this?
Thank you!
Just use root explorer (what I used and know it works) or another file manager, then select all files, click move, then move upto the /mnt/sdcard/ folder and paste it there

[Q] Restore system app deodexed rom

Hello
I uninstalled the memo app, but I need it back
System /app contains 0kb. Apk files and. Odex files.
The Apk are shortcuts to /preload /symlink /system /app or something like that.
How do I restore the memo app so that it works?
Just putting the secmemo.apk into /system/app doesn't seem right since rom is deodexed
Please advice how to restore the app. I have the rom zip file to extract the files from just not sure how
would have been cool if this post would have gone somewhere. Looking for similar info.

Have a look here
Don't bother, the reference is no longer valid, but I may have found something - checking it out first.....
Sorry but I can't recommend what I found. There are many similar and better apps anyway.

Backup all QuickMemo+ notes?

Hello!
How do I backup each and every note of my LG G5 QuickMemo+?
If your phone is rooted, you can do that by using automatic backup tools such as Titanium Backup, or by manually copying /data/data/com.lge.qmemoplus/ folder to your backup location and then restoring it by copying it back to the same folder, setting the right permission with Root Explorer or similar.
If you're planning to copy them to a txt file, it's quite easy for text notes, as the text is inside /data/data/com.lge.qmemoplus/databases/qmemoplus.db, a SQLite database, in a format similar to HTML.

My phone is not rooted and I do not plan to root it. Most of the notes I wish to backup are images, is that still possible?
accessing in the /data/data folder is possible only with root. I don't know where images are, if they are in /sdcard/android/data/com.lge.quickmemoplus you can backup them, otherwise not.
EDIT: media files are in /sdcard/android/data/com.lge.quickmemoplus, so you can just copy that folder even without root.

Oh. So should all my phone data get deleted, if I paste the pre-copied folder, all the dozens of saved images in QuickMemo+ would be there?
/sdcard/ is (opposite to what would be logical) the internal memory. So if your phone data is erased, also QuickMemo+ photos are deleted But you can always backup them whenever you want.

I just went in that folder and I seem to have thousands of 'qmemo_' folders in there, each has 'audios', 'drawings', 'images' and 'videos' sub-folders. The problem is there seem to be a lot of memos I have deleted from my phone long ago (which apparently also is the reason why it took some time to load all the folders as there are thousands), how come the deleted memos appear in those sub-folders? How can I backup only the relevant ones?
If there is a mismatch between the database of notes seen by QuickMemo and the files in the folder, well, you just have to be patient and check them one by one.
You can start by opening QuickMemo and looking at the earliest memo: any folder that has been edited before that date, is something you deleted.
You can use LG Backup too
