Moto E XT1529 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm not sure if I am posting the right place but please move it if I am not. I'm trying to get some information on the Moto E xt1529. I have searched the forums here and I am unable to find a specific mention of that particular phone. An Imei search tells me that it is both a gsm and cdma phone but I cant seem to find a specific mention this phone other than from ebay sellers. None of the listings I have seen know the carrier. Does anyone have any knowledge of this phone and what bands it carries? What carrier it might be locked to? If I can get it unlocked if I get? Any help that can be provided would be very welcome. As I said I did search the forums before and flipped through 50+ pages of results but could not find a specific mention. I remember coming across a thread stating which phones were gsm and which were cdma about a year or more back but I couldn't find that either. thanks in advance for your time.

from what i understand and only american users can correct me on this is that the version xt912 offered by verizon is blocked to work on any other carriers in the US. this i have heard and read over and over again but still can be wrong. you should try to buy a xt910 and it should work on any carrier in US as long as the radios and bands match.
the xt 912 will only work on verizon. because verizon blocks it i guess.
i would suggest also going to droidrzr.com they have awesome support for xt912 OG and MAXX version and live chat support as well.
good luck

US Cellular unlocked S5 and T-Mobile...advice plz

I'm looking at an unlocked US Cellular Galaxy S5 which apparently has the ability to take a SIM card. The model number of the phone given to me was SMG-900VZKV. I haven't been able to find any information on that particular model, but I did find information for the SMG-900V, which is the Verizon model. I'm assuming they're the same????
Anyway, if I take an unlocked SMG-900V (assuming they're the same as stated above), would the internal antennas associated with this phone be compatible with T-Mobile's network? I'm not exactly familiar with the technical aspects of the phone, but from what I have read it seems that some phones has certain antennas in certain frequencies that others don't have?
A little bit lost on the topic. Tried a search on the forum on the SMG-900VZKV to get information but no matches unfortunately. Thanks for the help!

I can't use data on a european provider. Verizon phone.

Hi, everyone. I got my mother's lg g3 verizon phone when she passed away, and while I know that verizon phones are unlocked, I cannot use data with my French carrier. Verizon can't help, so I'm kinda sick. It's a much nicer phone than I can afford, so I really would like to use it. I think I have to change the APN settings, but I have no idea how, or what to change. Can anyone here help?
Hi! Please post questions in the Q&A section. I'll ask a moderator to move the thread.
I don't have any knowledge myself regarding changing APNs on the VS985, but it's possible that unlocking some of the other radio frequencies used might help too. I don't have personal experience with that either, but there are threads in this section having to do with that, maybe in Q&A too. Use the search field on both sections for "unlock" and you should find something.
I would guess that your first step is to make sure that the carrier you want to use it with uses any of the radio frequencies that are available on this variant. Some of the threads you find in the search results might list what all this phone supports, then you'd have to compare that to information about what your carrier uses.

Kuwait SIM card in VS985

Hey folks. I will living in Kuwait for the next year, and I brought my Verizon LG G3 VS985. Once I got here, I purchased a Kuwaiti SIM that runs off ZAIN towers, and a 4G mobile hotspot. This works great and I can connect all my devices, but it's a pain to lug around a hotspot with me when I am out. I read online my G3 is factory unlocked, but when I put the SIM in my phone, it tells me a non-Verizon SIM has been inserted. I have played with all of the mobile network settings, and I can register on the local Kuwait networks, but my phone will never connect. I have tried global, LTE, GSM, UMTS, CDMA, 3GPP multi, etc. In the status bar, the signal strength and type of network will change accordingly, but will always be grayed out. I am trying to figure this out, but it's driving me crazy.
Can any of you experts help me out?
Thank you in advance.
I can only give a little info, but not really what you're looking for. To be clear, the phone is unlocked. The complaint that you have a non-Verizon SIM inserted is more informational/annoyance. To my understanding, it doesn't keep you from using any other SIM, it just annoys you when you do. *If* you were rooted, I believe the G3TweaksBox Xposed module has an option to take care of that, but verify that before quoting me on it.
I know one key item to keep in mind is that the VS985 only handles certain radio frequencies, and they might not match all of the frequencies that your current network requires, or there might only barely be some overlap.
There are some radio frequencies that can be unlocked on the VS985. There are informational threads in the General section and maybe some in the Q&A section that might help as well. When viewing the General section, use the search box near the top right if on a web browser (not Tapatalk) and I'd try the keyword "unlock" or try "radio" or "frequency", "frequencies", or "band". "unlock" and "band" might produce the most appropriate search results.
Speaking of General and Q&A sections, in the future please post new question threads in Q&A. I'll ask a moderator to move this thread there.
I know I've seen one of the informational threads I think in this section and someone lists the frequencies that are able to be unlocked on this phone. The information might not be in the first post of the thread - I don't recall as I've never had to unlock any bands for my use. From there, if I were you I'd try to find out what bands your current network requires or supports, to find out if unlocking any particular bands might help.
Good luck!
