Know issues
Preview problem when taking photos with the default app (alternatives as opencamera don’t have this problem)
How to install
From stock rom:
Update your firmware to the last Nougat version (needed to update the bootloader for new recovery)
Unlock your bootloader (you should save your TA partition before)
Install TWRP (link below)
Make a backup, your data partition will be erased!
Push the rom's zip to the SD card (optionally with gapps)
Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik cache
Install the rom (+/- gapps)

Enjoy !
From custom rom (CyanogenMod 13 or ResurrectionRemix-M):
Use flashtool with the lightened ftf below to update bootloader (only if you never updated to stock Android N. Be CAREFULL with flashtool, search correctly before use)
Flash the new TWRP (link below)
Make a backup, your data partition will be erased!
Push the rom’s zip to the SD card (optionally with gapps)
Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik cache
install the rom (+/- gapps)
Reboot
Enjoy !
Tips
To use usb otg, just click on the “USB OTG” button in quick settings, this will enable the detection of usb devices for 30 seconds.
To boot into the new recovery you can press the vol- and power button at the same time with the tablet powered off. The touchscreen in recovery could make two or three seconds to works, don’t worry, it’s normal.
Thanks
kali-, olivier, Myself5, Quarx, cdesai, banmeifyouwant. They bring this amazing project to life for Z4 and Z5 (and by extension to all the kitakami platform).
kali- was also the first one to bring this project to Z4 tablet WIFI, while I did for Z4 tablet LTE.

Thank you very much for this rom.
Hello,
Thanks for releasing, I've flashed your new build and the WideVine DRM is working fine now. Good luck with getting the commits merged, hope this makes it to official status after your work to fix the last few broken items.
Anything left to fix at this stage? I see the camera is more or less fine, just a little perspective distortion in the camera app due to the preview window having the wrong dimensions which is very minor.
Thanks!
Why developer setting has only root for adb?
Have i must flash supersu in twrp?
Thank you very much for this rom.
@[email protected]
Please, look and read at -
http://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/root-android-using-twrp-recovery-install-supersu/
There you can find all Informations.
I have download the ZIP File and flashed the arm 64 SU and become a new ROOT-Assortment / Selections. And now i have FULL-Root.
By me works it very good. I have tested any APP´s what are must have "root", no Problem´s.
A very great Thank´s to "andralex8" and the other Developers for his good Job.
Into the Moment i´am so Happy with my new - "LINEAGE OS".
I like it´s.

Read the lineage os blog post. Root is now an optional add-on so that users can use root-aware apps without installing root-cloaking software. Not difficult to install, just use arm64 from here: https://download.lineageos.org/extras

lineage-14.1-20170517-UNOFFICIAL-karin.zip wont install with this recovery.
"Can't install this package over newer build" is the error message.
Can you upload a later dated rom or should I go back to the earlier TWRP?

This can be fixed by removing first line of the updater script.
Simply download the rom for your version, use you preferred zip tool to edit the file: META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script and remove the first line.
Thank you for the rom. At last it was released publlicaly. Everything works like a charm. Only mifare cards and stock lineage camera could be a little issue.
I've read where many users who have updated from Marshmallow to Nougat have experienced fast battery drain issues. Can anyone confirm this is not an issue with this ROM or that it has been resolved with 7.1.2?

I should build a new version soon.
But in all cases you can also wipe ONLY the system partition before reinstalling the rom (I do it each time, even if not mandatory it's cleaner). You let your data partition unchanged so you will not loose anything.
Ok, so I'm ready to pull the trigger on this, but I have a few questions to be sure I do it correctly. I currently have a rooted Z4 with the custom AndroPlus kernel (it's on lollipop v6.x). So no custom rom, only custom kernel with root. So to follow this guide, I would use the flashtool with the lightened ftf, and flash the new TWRP and ROM, right? Or would it be better to just restore my tablet back to original factory state and then proceed from the beginning?

You need lightened ftp in case you have android 5/6 as twrp dosent work with old bootloader. If you have any version of noogat stock. No need of ftp. Also, it might be flashed trough androplus recovery.
Perfect, thank you. Also, right now on AndroPlus I have the DRM Fix that emulates the DRM keys to allow for Sony's Image Enhancement. Will I loose that with this ROM?

Lineage dosent need any drm fix. It's only stock feature.
the rom i was waiting for. much better battery, especially in standby. i use the tablet only on special days
and till this day it loses 3% per day (using leandroid for flightmode while display is off).
with stock nougat i lost 10% per day.

Well that's even better! Seems like the perfect solution. And from what I understand I can get full root by installing SuperSU from here using the ARM64 version and installing via TWRP?
Am I required to have an OTG cable and attach a mouse to make any of this work? Or can it be done without? Thanks for the excellent support!

The Alpha release was experimental and was not meant for the general public, but still recieved an overwhelming response. This new Beta version is free of most bugs encountered earlier and is suitable for everyone to get a taste of SailfishOS on their phone.
Read the installation instructions carefully.
Changelog from Alpha -->
* Bluetooth fixed.
* Audio now works out of the box.
* Camera Resolutions updated.
* Flash now works in Camera.
* Settings app now shows settings for cellular networks.
* FM-Radio now supported. ( Highly Experimental. Read the FM-Radio section below )
* Stand-by time vastly improved.
* Basic Jolla apps are now pre-installed. ( Before anyone talks about bloatware, you got the option to uninstall them)
* Warehouse, the community appstore is now pre installed.
Sailfish OS’s heritage lies in Nokia times, especially in the MeeGo operating system. Prior to 2011 Nokia and Intel had a vision of an open mobile operating system. Together they invested around 1 billion USD to the project and created an open source based operating system called MeeGo, which was used as a basis for several devices, such as the iconic Nokia N9. Although the Nokia N9 became the beacon of open source operating systems, Nokia decided to end the project and chose instead to continue with Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS. The rest of that is another story.
For more information about SailfishOS click here.
SailfishOS has now been successfully ported to Redmi 2 and here I am sharing the steps to install it on your phone.
Code:
Disclaimer: Your warranty is now void. You will lose all your data on your phone and may render it unusable. This software is provided as is without any warranty of any kind whatsoever. The user shall solely be reponsible for any consequence arising out of following this guide. I, or anyone else shall not be held responsible for bricked devices, dead sd-cards, thermonuclear war, you getting fired because the alarm app failed or any other consequence of following this guide. The linked zip contains some proprietary files.
tl;dr I wont be held responsible for any unfortunate incidence.
Prerequisites -->
1) Latest TWRP recovery installed (Others may work too but I haven't tested). You can get it here-->http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-2/development/recovery-recovery-built-source-inside-t3277621
*Note that the Cyanogenmod version is now changed.
2) cm-12.1-20160318-UNOFFICIAL-wt88047 zip by kumajaya. You can get it from his google drive link here--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-2/development/rom-cyanogenmod-unofficial-builds-t3200883
3) SailfishOS zip file. Download link given below.
This is not an Android ROM and thus the instructions to install are quiet different. Follow them carefully.
1) Boot to recovery. Wipe cache, dalvik-cache, system and data.
2) Copy the Downloaded files to the sdcard via USB.
3) Install cm-12.1-20160318-UNOFFICIAL-wt88047. Do NOT reboot after installing.
4) Install SailfishOS zip file. The installation will take around 10 minutes so don't think that its stuck. Ignore any errors about being unable to mount data partition.
5) Reboot System when installation succeeds.
Notes-->
1) This is not an Android ROM. Android apps will not work right now. But a way for Android apps to work is available but will take quiet some time before it gets on our device.
2) Root access (using devel-su in terminal) requires a password which can be set in Settings>Developer Options.
3) For advanced users, you can ssh into the device after setting a password in Developer options using ssh [email protected] over USB.
4) Do not register for a Jolla account. You will get an error about failed IMEI registration. This will be fixed as soon as Jolla allows ported devices to be registered.
5) The Store will not work. It needs a Jolla account. You can however use the openrepos warehouse for installing apps.
6) MTP over USB does not work.
7) Battery drains faster if screen is ON. Better than alpha but still needs improvement.
FM-Radio -->
You can play FM-Radio now but it is experimental.
Plug in your headphones and launch the PirateFM app for radio.
if it won't start, open terminal and use "harbour-piratefm" to start it.
Once the app starts, it should show a frequency. If its stuck at 0.0 MHz, then close the app(close, not minimise) and restart it again. It should show a frequency now. If you have echoing audio in the headphones, i.e. you hear your own voice in the headphones, then open terminal and " systemctl restart --user pulseaudio" and then try running the app again.
FM will not work through the speakers, and it also cannot be muted.
Download Link -->
The file has been named as alpha-2 because that is how it was initially intended but it would be better to designate this as beta since its almost stable.

I tried the first, alpha build, it was really really good, but can you please tell me how to install it as a secondary ROM havin it's own kernel via multiboot, as I was really tires of switching kernels everytime I had to switch between CM13 and SailFish.
I hope it's possible.
.
Also, will it not work with the latest, Lolipop Bootloader? (As i can make out from the "Required Firmware" section from OP)

Since the base cyanogenmod will not work with the lollipop bootloader, it cannot be done. Sailfish will work if a way to run the base cm over the lollipop bootloader is found.
As for the multiboot, I haven't tried it yet but take a look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67519570&postcount=62 although it was already addressed to you.
@adeen-s well as per the updated devolvement for wt88047, CM now supports Lollipop bootloader. Can you please guide us through the process of having SFOS as secondary? Is it like installing any other secondaries?

wow sailfish os enters beta
What are remaining issue items? battery drain fixed?
Bugs
Hi, i love this os and hope android apps support is coming soon.
the bugs that i found is the music player seem to show the same mp3 file as 2 different file but one with correct duration and the other one is zero.
for problems, the battery draining quite fast :crying:
thank you for your hard work dev!!!
@adeen-s that means if i flash the rom as secondary having k loader, it'll work?
@adeen-s What a beautiful typographical OS with fluent transitions. Been using it with MultiROM keeping my previous primary RR 5.7.1 as secondary. Everything is pretty good on my side. Just animations are quite unfluent sometimes. And some USSD codes aren't showing when dialed. Like *143*0# and *400# on Aircel(404 91).
Using it, wow!

I tried to compile the LOS gsi, but my pc didn't like the phh script and i have very limited time to debug why it fails.
No time to test your build right now (though i i'm planning to use as daily driver from the new year), but i got a few questions regarding functionality:
- Do the dual sim, sd card, mtp, camera, lockscreen features work?
- Is it possible to install a new-ish gcam under LOS?
- Also, would it be possible to compile LOS 8.1 and just add the fm radio firmware from samsung stock to fix fm issue?

Hello, Thanks for your reply. Lockscreen, dual sim, mpt, camera works. Well this is 64bit rom it supports GCAM but the camera HALs needs remake for GCAM (you can take black pictures on GCAM)
Almost all samsung apps require Samsung Frameworks but I am not gonna do it.

Another question:
I'm still on OREO. I guess the BL binary 4 requirement mentioned in the first post is the PIE BL binary?
So i'd have to first flash the latest PIE stock?
From what i see over at ashyx's TWRP thead, it is possible to install TWRP on latest PIE, but not to root afterwards.
So, since from your answer to wafelciooo above, it seems clear that magisk can be installed, what did i get wrong?

I will probably boot on any bootloader. But things line telephony, wi-fi might not work because of uncompatible firmware.
It's possible to make it work properly on any firmware although not implemented yet.
Bootloader Binary 4?

Look for "Baseband version" in software info in settings. The number in the middle is bootloader binary. For example:

how to return to oreo
Yeah I am think about it too, because there's few to no-help-at-all from the OP.
To go back to Oreo, provided you didn't make a backup of you're ROM you'll have to download a firmware from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and use Odin to flash it into your device.

I don't have that device, searched out multiple places and their is no publicly available specifications on it (not even GSI)
I was hoping this ROM would have support for exFat on the SD card, but no such luck. Still have to flash the Xfinity kernel to get exFat.
Very nice ROM build! No issues so far... root an custom kernel installed. This is the ROM i've wanted since day one of having this tablet. Tried many but none of them are nearly as good as this one. THANK YOU
Thank you so much! This is still one of my favorite ROMs.
Im new to rooting. Ive looked through tutorials and before I proceed. My android tab 10.1 has android version 10. All the root files ive seen none of them match the build number I have on the tablet. Is this a whole new OS of sorts? So no matter the build my android is showing, I can still install this.

This is GSI, so this does not depend on any version specific kernels
You can backup important things first before flashing, then download stock ROMs in case things really went wrong
This build does not come with root, you can follow Magisk guides for flashing root

I do have plans on making this official, but for OTA, since this is a GSI build, there might be difficulties, however updates will get posted here constantly, so subscrible to the thread if you want manual OTA for now

Hi, nice to see a RR ROM on the 510 but how do you install a tar file with twrp, it takes only zips ?

Flashed my device yesterday.
The Custom Recovery is included in the rom. The Orange Fox Recovery is great so far and based on TWRP 3.5.0. So can recommend the Rom woth Orange Fox.
You have to open the .tar file in Odin as AP.
@RobotHanzo
I found out that the automatic adjustment for the brightness doesn't work.
Also it would be great if you could write in your first post which version the ROM is based on so we can see if there are updates in future.
The header says 8.6.4 but the ROM is 8.6.5.

For this, since its a GSI, you don't have to install the zip if you have already patched the vendor images, if you haven't, go find Magendanz's builds like his Nexus rom and flash it
Next, download the rom and extract the files using software like 7zip or winrar
Send the system.img you get from the extraction process to your tablet and flash as system image, you should get a working system

Actually the first build is on 8.6.5 but I mistyped lol
For the light adjustment part, it seems like another generic samsung problem thats caused by using camera as the light sensor, you can try to follow the issue here https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/issues/1468 and see if theres any future responses from that
Thanks for bringing this RR rom. Previously I was using a different RR GSI. Does it have smaller recent preview? Cuz the big recent apps looks awkward on a tab. Moreover there is this brightness bug where on very low brightness the screen looks like it is turned off! And please can you make the rom in compressed format like .xz, would be a great help to this wandering soul, as it eats less data.

Are you sure Wifi is connected?
If yes, try a different package of Gapps or try to restore a older backup (/data only) from a different ROM, if you have. Also be aware, that our tablets cannot connect to Routers with WPA3.
This will be fixed in one of the next builds.

Hi. I´ve tested the Issues you mentioned.
The Camera App seems to be broken or has a wrong resolution. That´s nothing i can fix but i´ll report it to the devs. As a workaround install Open Camera. This App is working normal.
I tested phonecalls (in and out) with 4G and Edge. Both are working for me.
Maybe there´s an issue with your local provider. If the problem persists, i would suggest to dl ROM and Gapps again (maybe a file is corrupted), delete your ROM in TWRP + format /data and do a clean install of both, ROM and Gapps. Often this will fix those errors.
Your logcat is looking not too bad except a crash of firebase, what definetly could cause the trouble. But we´ll see it, if you´ve done a clean and fresh installation.

Hi @crazydrive22 . I'll take the opportunity and ask you a question of mine. I'm having trouble flashing any SM-T531 compatible roms. I will list the steps I followed.
1 - Flasing twrp with heimdall. At first I tried here: https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxytab4101.html but ta off the link there.
I downloaded it here on the XDA forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-3-5-2_9-unified-matisse-millet-twrp-recovery.4019831/ ;
2 - full wipe and format;
3 - Flashing this rom (with or without gapps) Resulting: Loop in Samsung logo or should I wait too long?
Thanks for working.

Hi.
First boot can take a lot of time. If it's not booting i would suggest to flash Stock 5.0.2 and start again from scratch. It's nescessary to had 5.0.2 installed once to make sure, that the Bootloader is updated. The Bootloader from KitKat (4.x) is not working with LineageOS 9 or newer and it's forks like crDroid or Cypher. The TWRP from Matteo is good, it's the lastest one and working well. But i can't tell you anything about Heimdall. I'm using Odin only to flash Stock or TWRP.

Thanks for the answer, it must be the 4.4.x bootloader, I didn't even ask if I had the 5.x.x one, I'm flashing the 5.0.2 About haimdall. It's wonderful, a point that can be negative is that the process is more manual, you must select each file for its respective partition, the good thing is that with it you can capture the pit file, it is very rare for an error to occur except if there is a problem on the PC or cable. It works on Linux and Windows and Mac OS X. I will return with news.
This is working amazing on my SM-T530NU, far better than whatever Nook bloat that was running before.

NOTE: It is recommended to update your stock ROM to Android 10 before flashing this custom ROM.
IMPORTANT: If you want to use GAPPS build, it is necessary to resize system and vendor partition on your phone before flashing rom! This step will perform format of system and vendor partition and even userdata partition so make a backup if you don't want to lose your data!
If you downloaded VANILLA build, you can skip this step and if you want then you can flash gapps of your choice.
Please download this nice and user friendly Nokia Repartition Tool brought to you by Raghu Varma and look at this instructional video:
Just use the first option "3.5G S - 1G V" - it is enough for this rom.
NOTE: After resize your phone will be automatically booted to TWRP, but because this tool is intended for Nokia 6.1 Plus, this TWRP will refuse to flash ROM zip on 6.1. In this case just reboot to bootloader and download this TWRP for our Nokia 6.1, boot it and everything will be fine. Now you can begin flashing.
After booting to TWRP:
1) If you just resized your system and vendor partitions using Nokia Repartition Tool then you have already formatted userdata so you can skip this step, otherwise if you want to do a clean flash then please Format Data by typing yes, then go to the Bootloader and reboot TWRP. (For dirty flash use adb sideload method because TWRP can not decrypt Android 12 userdata partition.)
2) Flash latest ROM zip via TWRP
3) Switch to alternative slot (if you are on slot a switch to b if you are on b switch to a)
4) Reboot system
Now you are done!
SafetyNet on latest PixysOS builds passes out of the box, so you won't need root/Magisk anymore. Flash Magisk only in case that you really need to root your device.
ROM: Sourceforge download linkAt the download page, you can choose GAPPS build (with Google play store and other apps included) or VANILLA build, which contains only basic apps without Google play store (in this case you can flash gapps of your choice).
Wi-Fi Hotspot works only without password. FIXED
Custom statusbar icon pack is reverted back to default after device reboot.

Hey, really appreciate your work!) Specific bug for your rom is inability to setup magisk, because stock rom recovery "Failed to clear BCB message" error, adb sideload method doesn't works in it too. If i flash boot TWRP, then I can't boot rom, it stucks on boot logo. General bugs for all roms, such as hanging vibration (12.1 bug), gcam, that after some time of use can't take photos are here. Again. thanks for your work!!
Hi, thanks for your reply! Magisk works on this ROM, I just tested the version 24.3.
You need to boot into TWRP (twrp-3.4.0-0-PL2_sprout-11.0-20200909.img), select adb sideload option and flash latest Magisk zip. Then reboot and check the magisk app. Now you are successfully rooted. ;-)
Note: If you are installing Magisk right after flashing rom, don't forget to switch slot first!
I tried to install magisk right after I installed rom. For example now I am on a slot B, rom is installed on slot A. Magisk would setup on current slot, not as rom, that would setup on inactive slot -> I need go to the A slot to setup magisk. If I try to do that through stock rom recovery on slot A, I get error, because ADB sideload isn't working. If I try to "fastboot flash "twrp"" on slot A, then I can install magisk, but I am stuck on the rom boot logo. If I try to use twrp install.zip file from TWRP on slot B, then I get would the same problem (boot logo) on slot A. ADB sideload is installing magisk in current slot, that's why I can't do it from slot B to setup magisk on slot A. It's a bit sadly. And the second question to you, why our community vendor has general GCam problem, that is on all roms? Maybe you can contact to developers of it to fix that problem? Because it's really shame bug)
Just tell me about the experience you had with the Rom. is it smooth or not
Magisk must be installed in the same slot as the ROM. I ttied it and it works for me.
GCam problem is probably related to vendor or kernel source. Because I'm using Lineage trees to build this rom, It must be fixed by LineageOS developers.
My experience wih rom is very good, don't expect smoothness as stock, but the fact that this is an Android 12, result is really good. Small lags are ocassionally present.

I know that magisk have to be installed in the same as rom slot. That's why I had problems with that. I know that magisk have to be installed in the same as rom slot. That's why I had problems with that. If you would fix stock rom recovery, then there are no problems would be)) Yeah, rom is pretty smooth, on my opinion it works as the 10 stock, but of course android 11 custom roms work better and that's absolutely normal)

I don't understand why to use stock recovery when we have TWRP.

Because if we try to use flash boot twrp on rom slot, then rom can't boot, it stuck on boot logo)
OK, I didn't try to flash Magisk zip right after ROM flashing... I have fully configured ROM with installed apps etc. and in this state I booted into TWRP flashed Magisk zip and ROM normally booted, I just found Magisk in apps and everything worked. This is my experience.

Maybe) In my experience, if I flash TWRP after flashing rom the rom doesn't boot, at all. Maybe I have done something wrong, but any way, if you will fix the stock recovery, it would be better!)
I need to clarify this: You are trying to flash TWRP using twrp-installer zip? If yes then this will not work on Android 12 ROM!
Do this to temporary boot TWRP (in download mode):
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img <----- this command returns error because our phone does not have the recovery partition, but it is mandatory to execute this command first --- then:
fastboot boot twrp.img <----- this command temporary boots TWRP on your Nokia 6.1 and now is the right time to install Magisk...
I recommend THIS TWRP version, just download the file and rename to twrp.img.

I tried to use twrp installer first, it did not worked for me, then I tried to use fastboot flash boot method, that is recommended for this TWRP. Using both flash recovery and boot method is new for me, so maybe it will be ok. But flash boot method doesn't work. And yeah, I used recommended from you Raghu's TWRP.

Maybe would try later, thanks for your work!)
Is anyone able to check if Duo Mobile 2fa is working?
I did all the steps, installed the rom, It siad "Fhasing A/B Zip to ianctive slot: B" after I try to change the slot and reboot, it says no OS installed... Is anyone else having this issue?
I did the Nokia Partition Tool, rebooted to bootloader, booted into the 3.4 TWRP it suggested and did the steps, It still said the error and rebooted back into TWRP*
EDIT: I was redoing it for the 3rd time as I typed this message and it magically worked.
Just a request, if it isn't too much to ask for...
Would it be possible to provide a vanilla build too? Perhaps then the installation would fit on the device without repartitioning -- I have made a couple of observations that have made me arrive at this conclusion:
My experience with LineageOS 19 is that the build + MindTheGApps package fits on the stock system partition without the need for repartitioning.
On the official PixysOS downloads page, I see that the size difference between Android 12 vanilla and GApps builds for one of the devices is something like 600 MB.
I am downloading the build at this instant, and I'm going to try fiddling around with the system image to make it fit on my PL2 before resorting to repartitioning (because we all know how much of a pain that can be ). I intend to install it later in the day, so I don't yet have feedback on the build itself.
Cheers! And thanks for your effort and time!
EDIT: I must also add that for a) people who prefer to use only core Google apps like GMS and Play Store (e.g. myself), and b) people who do not want to use even core Google services, a vanilla build would be ideal.

I'll consider it, maybe from the next build I'll provide both versions.
