I have two Samsung gear s smartwatches and have been trying to use them on the same phone. When one runs out of power it gets turned off and charging, then I power the second watch on and go. But when the second tries to connect my phone requires the watch to factory reset. I did that, when it ran out of power and I reached for the first watch it also asked me to do the same again. What am I doing wrong? Samsung Galaxy s7 active.
the 2 watch are installed and paired on the phone ?
I have a Gear S and a Gear S2 on the same phone (S5) and and Gear 1 + Gear 2 + Gear S on other phone (S4). All watch can works if I select the watch in the Gear Manager App.
Same model
You have all different models of smartwatches. I have two of the same model. That's the only difference I can see. I have paired them both atleast 20 times. The only way either watch doesn't need to be reset when connected is if it is the last watch connected. If I try to connect to the watch that was connected before the last one it will be required to reset. How can I get around this? I need someone with two of the same model smartwatch.
Have you the 2 watch installed on the Gear Manager and visible on the watch list ?

Both will not stay in the list. When I connect the second one, my phone resets the second one and the first is removed from the list

Yes but can you install the second after the first install or not ? when select "install new Gear"
Yes. The second one can be installed. But once the second is installed and powered off, I cannot reconnect the first. The phone requires the first one to factory reset then it will connect. Then to connect again the second one it needs factory reset first.
You try with the "2" item on the popup list ? because if the name are the same you can not know where is the one or the 2 on the 2 same name in the list ?
For me I can see "Gear S" and "Gear S2" but with the same model it will be "Gear S" and "Gear S"....
The "real" BT name of the 2 watch are not the same, so the manager can distinguish the 2.
Yes they both say gear s but they each have a different device number behind it like with yours so I can tell which is which. None of this has been beyond me or anything I haven't already tried or known. I need someone with two of the same model smartwatch to even begin to compare. I have talked to Samsung and they said that I need to update my phone through carrier but my phone software is up to date. I haven't gotten anywhere in 3 weeks.

Or maybe it thinks the TP is running FB from the legit webOS app
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
You don't believe me?
Ever think its because every other platforms FB app has been recently updated..and WebOS has not?
Facebook now requires a GPS connection, hence why almost all mobile FB apps give a rough location now when you post
OK.. Next question.
About that SIM Card slot...
Antenna? SIM Card? SD? Identifier? What IS that?
What exactly is that? Can you take it out? Can you insert something into it? Can you use it in some way?
If not...why would they include it...? It must be useful in some way...
That's odd...
its the sim card slot for the 4g models. on all other models its a dummy with the serial number
and there is NO sim card hardware if you have a dummy slug, teardown confirmed
but it DOES have the pins and chipset to wire one in but that would require a meta-doctor of the 4G doctor for drivers (webOS), but then CM7 would not work
Would have loved to have had an SD slot.
that would have been nice for the 16GB users, but im sure there will be a much easier method for OTG with a flash drive/sd card reader in the near future

Facebook no longer does that for iPhones, Androids or anything else. It'll simple say via mobile, if anything.
Maybe Facebook is buying WebOS?

Read this http://www.precentral.net/how-webos-facebook-app-made-jobs-yell-zuckerberg to understand why facebook for webos isn't as consistant as official facebook app interfaces.
Regarding the via mobile message, like others said, it was updated for ios and android devices. It still says Blackberry, Windows Phone, etc for other platforms.
You can put your conspiracy theory to rest.
Okay.
Is anyone getting that Wifi and Sound problem from time to time?
Every now and then, the sound will become rattly. It just happens.
And every now and then, the WiFi will just stop working. And you have to reset it.
It's happening increasingly often..is it just me?
Noticing the WiFi issue for sure. Never happened before 3.4.
Um, in Android. What's with Facebook not working?
I see people with the icon on their homescreens. But... Why if it doesn't work.
It shuts down repeatedly.
I never really looked into this issue since I browse the facebook website rather than using the app but I did skim over this issue. I believe it crashes because it's trying to pull your location and the touchpad has no GPS. Solution is to fake it. I think there's a fake gps app on the market to fix this.
As to why people have the facebook app. 2 functions. Contact syncing and ability to share photos via facebook app.

What is the cause of the HP TouchPad's bulkiness? If you tap the back of your TouchPad with your fingernails, it sounds hallow- do you think they'd be able to issue out new backings that would make the TouchPad half as thick?
Another thing is, you can scroll through card view left and right, but why not up and down?
Ever notice in webOS, when you're interacting with card view and you tap to bring the card up and it's blurry for a moment- why does that happen?
Odd...
Hello,
I can't seem to find Nokia-specific apps in the Marketplace (Nokia Transport, Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, etc.)
I did find one but when I tried to install it, an error appeared saying that my device (Nokia 800) wasn't supported or the app is not available for my device.
Anyone had this problem? Does it have anything to do with my version of the Lumia 800 (RM-819)?
i have noticed this with carrier branded phones - it doesn't show the nokia apps in the market, nor does it appear when you search for it.
They are hidden from the general Marketplace (ie, they cannot be searched for). I have a "Nokia Collection" link which takes me to a list of all Nokia-only apps, like this:
{

}
Something that I've noticed is that the list may not be always up-to-date. I can search for "Nokia Transport" (or "Nokia Transit") and install it but it's not in the Nokia Collection list. Is it because it's considered a beta product?
Also, my list is longer than what tjramage's screenshot shows. I have Nokia Drive, Nokia Music, Network Setup, CNN and Creative Studio.
That picture is not my phone. I took it for example use only... It was taken much earlier this year. I also have Nokia Transport, etc in my Nokia Collection. It took a few days for the list to re-cache, but it does refresh eventually

If you're flashed a different country's firmware, you might not be able to use it. Nokia Music isn't available in the US, for instance.

I set my phone and computer region to English UK, and now I have access to Nokia Music, Nokia Transport, etc.
This is using an unlocked RM-819 from Amazon (Puerto Rico version apparently).
here is the nokia music for US variant.

Researchers at India's Anna University of Technology in Tamilnadu have developed a way to prevent those behind the wheel of a vehicle from making/taking calls or texting. By blocking the signals to and from a mobile phone used by the driver of a vehicle, it prevents the driver from losing focus on his task. The hard part in developing the system say those working on it, is blocking the driver's phone from working while still allowing passengers in the vehicle to use their device.
The system detects if the driver is using the phone while the vehicle is in motion. If so, a mobile jammer blocks the radio waves from getting to the driver's phone. To get around the problem with the passenger's devices, the jammer has a low range which should allow others in the vehicle to use their phone.

Great concept but I'd much rather see Bluetooth being enforced.
1. Driver must enable Bluetooth in order to make calls while driving.
2. Use the built-in GPS to tell if the vehicle is traveling faster than 10MPH.
3. Once the vehicle is in motion, Bluetooth cannot be enabled unless the driver finds a safe place to pull over.
4. Using simple commands via Bluetooth the driver can make calls and text messages. "Call John" "Text John"
5. The phone will read text messages through the Bluetooth so that the driver cannot try grabbing the phone to read them. Whether it be a Bluetooth headset or built-in Bluetooth in the vehicles sound system.
Then we will have a safer road for everyone.

I'm guessing this requires some kind of hardware in the car that creates a bubble around the driving area (not exactly like the picture) ?
Otherwise, it seems too impractical and voluntary to be worth anything.
in my country every drivers used phone while driving tsk tsk tsk..

I have a Ford Sync navigation setup in my truck. My truck has the ability to pair with several phones and then you can choose which one is a favorite or main phone and it will automatically connect to that one every time it 'sees' it. Or if that phone is not available you can manually select one of the other previously paired phones. Currently i have my I-777, a T-989, and an iPhone 5 paired on the Ford Sync.
Being a frequenter of this website for many years I obviously can't leave well enough alone and I flash various roms on my GS2 whenever I feel the need for change. Currently I am running the latest AOKP task650 update as my main rom and then with Siyah kernel 5.01 I run a dual boot and also have Jellybam as rom #2. They both run great as I have them setup and I have no complaints about the kernel or the roms.
My question here is this: How is the GS2 identified by a Bluetooth device when it is pairing? And is there a way to change this identification?
My reason and other thoughts behind this question: Being as I cant leave well enough alone with the roms I frequently change roms or boot to the second rom. When i do this the Bluetooth pairing to the Sync is gone and it needs to be re-paired. The old pairing is still there on the Sync and when I re-pair the GS2 it replaces the old pairing. This in turn wipes out all the saved favorites because the Sync assumes its a new phone.
I have tried naming the GS2 the same name such as I-777 and also a different name such as AOKP or I-777x2 and in both cases the the phone must be re-paired, the old pairing and name is replaced by the new name and pairing, and all the saved data is gone.
The T-989 and iPhone pairings don't get replaced, only the previous pairings of the GS2 regardless if I rename it or not.
I seem to remember that my Captivate could be stored on the Sync as several different pairings and names, why would the GS2 be different? Could it be that the Captivate multiple pairings were from back when we would have to fix our android IDs after each flash? And if I flashed a new ID for each rom I could have my multiple bluetooth profiles saved?
I even want to say at one point I did have two different GS2 pairings on the Sync. I think one may have been RockRatts Cobra rom and then maybe ShoStock? perhaps one was a GB rom and one was an ICS rom at the time? Would that make a difference?
Or is it something like a MAC address and the name change under bluetooth settings is just for user convenience but the Sync always sees the digital bluetooth identifier?
I looked around on the web and couldn't find a clear answer to my question and after reading through some more searches on XDA that came close but didn't answer my question i thought i would post it as I know someone here has the answer already.
Ok, to reply to my own thread, yes each phone has a unique Bluetooth MAC address that can be spoofed or changed.
Interestingly some of the moderators shut down threads about it while others don't. I can't decide yet from the threads I have read in the last 2 hours if its something I can easily change to run permanently different in rom 1 vs. rom 2. Or even if I can run a script to change it based on the rom I am currently on so the Sync sees a different MAC for each rom.
Interesting reading though, Google knows everything once you figure out what keywords to use.

I am enjoying S Health on the Gear S - love logging activities such as walking showing with continuous heart rate and maps etc. -only issue is how do you get this info off your phone? Anyway to sync it with your account or at least S Health on the phone? I use Note 3 and can detect it but app crashes or nothing happens when trying to communicate with S Health on Gear S? Is it ONLY compatible with a Note 4?
Welcome to Samsung S Hell (Health I mean). From what I read, Gear S is only compatible to sync with S Health found in 2014 Samsung phones. Even that, there are missing items in sync. Older phones have to wait, maybe forever, for Samsung to release updates to it. GS3 I have will never have S Health app.
I'm having the same problem. When I tap on Sync in the SHealth app on the phone, it tries to sync and then gives a sync failed error.
Using a Note 3.
I've tried endomondo, map my run and Nike +, but none of them integrate as well as SHealth with the pedometer and heart rate monitor.

Also loving S Health on device, also have a Note 3, also cannot sync
I don't have the Gear S yet. Hopefully getting mine in 2 weeks. I have a Note 4, and today I just got an update to S health on Note 4. I imagine there might be an update for S health for the note 3. This might solve your problems. Go download it from the Galaxy App store and try.
No update for s health yet on note 3. My guess is that I need 4.4.4 first
No update on my Note 3 either.
What version is your S Health?
When I go into "About S Health" it says
SH-V25H ver 2.5.5.051

Got this one this evening on my s5
What's weird is that when I go into Galaxy Apps and search for "S Health" or "health", to check if there are any updates, it doesn't find the app...
I have had an S Health update in the past though...
@NinjaMom - any chance you could post the apk for v3.5?
I'll try. But don't hold your breathe.
S Health 3.xx is for 2014 phones only. They are not compatible with older phones. APK alone is not enough. They are many components missing. You can hack your phone to use them but that is a very complicated procedure that also requires you root your phone. There are instructions posted on a different sub forum here.
Samsung promised push the new S Health app to older phones eventually but no timeline is given. If you want it soon, your best bet is buy a 2014 phone.
Thanks. I found v3.5 on another xda thread and followed the instructions, but it kept fc'ing when it tried to run it.
