Hi,
My phone runs the stock rom from samsung 4.0.3 XWLP7
I have problem with the option "contacts to display" which is into the menu of the "contact" app
When I go to customize view as example... whatsapp is deactivated, sim card and some of the gmail contact groups, when I save the setting everything is fine but if I go later back into the contacts they are all shown up again as if they are set to active.
Anyone having the same problem? On android 2.3.6 everything was fine with it..
works fine here, but i have whatsapp and skype to no sync. just tried untick facebook and it removes all these contacts
yes thats correct the contacts are removed but if you look later after some hours everything is back on like it was before the change

whats wrong
My back button dont work, when I'm on contact. Why?
Can somebody help me?
seems that the custom view is only shown on my phone after making the changes. First couple times when I opened the contacts the custom view was default but now it's again the normal view with all contacts in it
Custom view after editing the settings ( pic 1)
8 minutes later , like I said it's back to normal (all visible) but the settings are set (pic 2)

I am Facing Also the same problem in my Custom ROM ICS 4.0.4
Same problem here on Stock ICS 4.0.3 ROM. Also when you're in a custom view and try to search a contact, the view reverts to the 'all contacts' view and thus searches in all your contacts instead of the ones defined in the custom view.
Very annoying.
Seems like nobody knows how to fix it so I switched completely to go launcher ex with the contacts ex addon and it works perfectly. It's for sure bug in the default Samsung contacts app

Yep, I just updated to XWLPD and I have the same quirk. It is driving me insane.
Try to delete the "Contacts" shortcut and add it again.
Worked for me..

I just did this and it worked LOL
I was having same problem. I had groups set-up and had some groups turned off, but they kept on re-appearing, even though the group was still unchecked. I had to keep "checking" the groups, and then unchecking them again, but they soon re-appeared!
Resolution (worked for me):
Delete Contacts Shortcut from Homescreen/Docking Bar (I done this for my Go Launcher EX Docking Bar)
Open the Contacts app from the main icon in the app screen (not via shortcut)
Customize your contacts list.
Now create the Contacts shortcut again on your Homescreen/Docking Bar
I done all the above, and my Contacts are behaving themselves, even after a reboot
Demon
It worked for me too.
I'm on stock ICS with LPF version.
Using Go-Launcher (but had the same problem also using the stock launcher.
Thanks

Dear,
I recently switched from iphone to an Oneplus one but still didn't found the perfect calendar app.
On my iphone i had a calendar app where i could use my google agenda.
What i real loved on this app was that i could make templates. I work at shift's and it's verry irregular.
So i made an template of the most shift's (included the hours of start and end). This was very handy at the moment i was filling in my agenda.
Does anybody knows an app for this?

Contacts in Account Sync just has "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly"
Its been saying that since 7am today. Most contacts are their but an odd few wont appear.
Same on MIUI, Noughat and Oreo ROMS.
Yeah I have the exact same issue. I thought it had to do with Oreo rom (Cardinal) or Oreo gapps cause it happened to me yesterday after installing Cardinal. The weird thing is that I first installed this rom 2 days ago. Contacts synced successfully. Then I had this issue with the decrypted data which others are suffering as well and had to format data partition. So then after setting up everything again I realised that some important contacts were missing. I opened Google contacts from PC chrome browser and found that whatever change I made to the already synced contacts was instantly changing in my phone but when I was changing something to the not synced contacts my phone couldn't sync them. These contacts that still cannot be synced till today are the ones that where in my favorite group and they have a Google plus profile connected as well. If I go and make from scratch a new contact with the exact same details and Google plus url profile it can sync without problems. It's very weird and couldn't find any information on Google about such problem

Since moving over from my iPhone, the one and pretty much only issue left for me to resolve is syncing my calendar on the Mate 20 Pro with my wife's iPhone.
Does anyone have a way I can get this done?

Apple's calendar uses the CALDAV standard, which can be synced with dozens of apps. Davdroid is probably the most used one.

Hi, I think I overdone on cleanup on my global Redmi Note 4 MTK (nikel) where I accidentally removed stock Mail and Calendar apps. Does anyone else have them handy? Currently running 10.2.1.0. MBFMIXM.
thanks!
I think that from MIUI 10, mail app is no longer included (don't know why as i like it) [emoji53]
I found .apk file, downloaded it and using it still..
In the link below, i found bunch of Xiaomi apps, including calendar and mail app [emoji846]
Hope this will help you [emoji846]

thanks davorterzin. However, what i found was that the mail app i get form apkmirror.com can sync, but calendar i download from apkmirror.com cannot sync. this is true for both gmail and outlook (the two i use the most often). am i missing something?
To be completely honest, i don't know [emoji53]
I have calendar app and is syncing normaly with my mail app (schedule and meetings from outlook exchange is syncing properly, on gmail I don't have anything).
Did you check if ot is something "blocked" or disabled (for calendar) as it is treating it as a "third party app"? [emoji53]

thanks davorterzin. yes, i checked all other permissions but seems just the calendar is not behaving as it should - email syncs no problem. anyway, i'll stick with using Outlook for Android for now, unless i've time to reflash the entire thing and start from fresh...
