You can disable the sensor using 'sensor disabler' xposed module
You can also try out 'proximity screen off lite' app on the play store however i am not sure about the app so I prefer you xposed module to use

thanks for your answer but this program are not useful for me!
any one can say how i cancelled this sensor in systems file?
i cant found the program can do this action...
So here is the story.
I flashed CM Mini 10 with the proper Kernel etc. Since then my proximity sensor stoped workin. This means no landscape on any app nor any activity on compas apps or apps that use the proximity sensor. (ALTHOUGH Proximity Lock App seemed to be working. The screen turned off while covering the sensor)
After that i decided (it was a decision which had to do with the whole daily use and stability of the rom) to go back to Mini CM 7. So i flashed the proper Kernel and the rom. Everething works fine except the proximity sensor.
Any help would be appreciated.
try pc companion, the led of notfications works? keyboard?

It's not the proximity sensor, that only detects if something (you) is close to the phone, so it can turn off the screen and prevent accidentail touches when you're in the call. It's the motion sensor that is not working properly

Yeah the notification led works and the keyboard! Actually everything works except of the screen rotation which worked perfectly on stock 2.1 with stock kernel

Push! Anyone knows which file is responsible for proximity? (build.prop or other script??)

my phone (Xperia mini pro) unlocks itself way too often when it's sitting in my pocket. I was using a MIUI ROM for some time and there was that cool feature that didn't allow to unlock the screen when the proximity sensor sensed something in its... proximity. I really miss it, but I don't feel like switching from CM to MIUI just for it.
I know there are lots of apps like Gravity Screen Off or Cover Algorithm, but they don't do exactly what I wan't to have (or I didn't explore them enough), as I don't want to lock/unlock my phone by the sensor or anything. just a simple thing:
0. the screen is locked and turned off
1. the home/power button is pressed
2. the app checks the proximity senor's state
2a. if something's covering the sensor (e.g. my pocket's inside), the touchscreen is disabled (and some message appears to say so)
2b. if nothing's covering the sensor, then unlocking the screen is allowed
did anyone found something like that in Play Store?
I think Gravity Screen Off should help you

I've tried it, and as much as I like the concept, the phone sometimes unlocks itself because of all that shaking in my pocket when I'm walking or running, and there's no possibility to turn the accelerometer off and just use the proximeter. but I guess that's the best option there is.
Hey guys.
i'm having some issues with my proximity sensor..
its working fine but. somthing inside the device is blocking it.
i think its a mix between some dust and the fact that my screen is a bit loose and far from the sensor.. when i press with my finger on the top of the screen i move something and the sensor reacts.
i tried sevreal apps but nothing could just shut it off completly..
i also found a flashable zip that should shut it off but it didn't went well with my rom..
any other sugesstions will be great..
i'm now using the latest crDroid [cm10.2] for the s2 with the provided kernel:

It's quite easy to take apart the phone and clean the part, try that

Solution
Heres what I did after trying all the suggestions and still no avail.
Had to disable the proximity sensor altogether.
Root Required. Download Hardware Disabler from Google Play store. Once you installed the app, it scans your root directory. Select your proximity sensor hardware. IT WILL SHOW AS cm3663 IN THE LIST. Manufacturer capella. Tick the box next to cm3663. Reboot your phone.
Your good to go!! :good:

no more black screen during a call :victory::good:
Cheers mate!! Have fun!!
Hey recently my proximity sensor broke. When I'm in a call the screen will stay off and will not turn on. Because of this I can't access the dialpad, hit the speakerphone button, or even hangup.
Is there a way to turn the proximity sensor off or force it to think that nothing is up close to it? I'm in latest Sultan rom if that matters. I have tried full wiping and resetting everything already.
Sure,
But, the issue is you'll need xposed for this method.
download this, install, enable, reboot.
Open the app, swipe from the left to inside, go to proximity and disable it completely. Done
Awesome I'll try it out since I already have xposed and root
EDIT: yep works perfectly thanks
