Note 4x with an unlocked bootloader - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hello all,
recently i bought from aliexpress redmi note 4x from a seller named Goldway, its a big reliable store.
when i typed in cmd "fastboot oem device-info" i saw the bootloader was unlocked.
i contacted the seller through messages and he said that in order to install global firmware they needed to unlock the bootloader.
I saw on the net information about official and unofficial unlock of the bootloader,
how can i know if my bootloader was unlocked officially or unofficially?
cuz i read some info about unlocking unofficially can cause a hard brick.

You should have asked the seller to not touch the device. But I guess that's not a problem, If there is an issue later with the device you can let it enter the warranty process.

Cant unlock boot loader!

I was trying to unlock the bootloader of my phone and when i type fastboot oem unlock it shows me three dots "..." for hours.
Device : Micromax q324 (it is a spreadtrum 7731 device)
PC OS : Windows 8 64 bit
You can't unlock all bootloader like that. Really that only works on nexus devices and a few others without the oem unlocking it. If I'm not mistaken you need something from the oem for that device.
then how do i unlock bootloader for my device????

You would be wrong. That oem has other devices that it unlocks bootloader for, so they will at least know what it is and will tell you if it can be unlocked or not.
Understand that not all devices get an unlock for the bootloader. They don't want to do it.
I will contact oem tommorrow
Thnx for the assistance

Edl dead recovery Rn4 unofficial bootloader unlocking

Hello guys,it's been 3 days since I applied for unlocking my RN4 and even after getting permission I wasn't able to unlock it
Last night I got frustrated and started looking for any unofficial trick like RN3 has.... What they do is put their device in edl mode and flash a moded apps boot.mbn file and then on fastboot they execute the unlock boatloader command like fastboot OEM unlock and get a working unlocked bootloader for their device.....
I used to work as a professional DRS -digital repair specialist in reliance Jio so there we. Had a water 2 named mobile which can't be fixed after soft brick as it had the edl mode via any cable or any other process so when I opened the handset I saw those dot pinouts and tried to short them one by one and finally I got it to boot in edl mode and then flash it with qfil.....
Same as that phone... This RN4 also had those pin outs, so I opened the back and started shorting pin outs while battery was unplugged and hey yehh that let my phone in edl mode huhu ... I was happy and to test if it works or not... I got a global fastboot ROM and I wasn't able to flash it before edl via fastboot but now.... When I fired up mi flash... Set directory I was able to get it in working state (yes soft brick RN4 got life)
Than I got a twrp recovery and renamed it to recovery. IMG and put it inside of mido(RN4) flashing folder and flashed it .... But sadly even after it got flashed via mi flash I saw stock recovery...
So here I am asking for a file to get our bootloader unlocked which is emmc_appsboot.mbn
I'll upload the original file and it will be glad if some one will help me to modify that mbm file to make it unlock via fastboot.........
Let's see if people dev. Will help me or not..
Or even if some one will give me a already unlocked bootloader IMG or mbn file I'll proceed further... So plz do help me... We're soon close to get an unofficial bootloader for our beloved RN4..

Unlocking bootloader is nightmare on Mi phones. I was trying to upgrade to MIUI 9 Developer ROM from my current stable and I have to unlock the bootloader to do so. It's crazy ! I didn't have to do that on Redmi Note 3. It was easy to switch between stable and developer roms from updater app.
Anyone has any idea how can I flash the latest developer build on my Redmi Note 4 with out unlocking bootloader?

Question about sim unlock

Ok I have a TMobile OnePlus Nord n10 5g I got it temporarily network unlocked and got the bootloader unlock token from OnePlus while it was unlocked (that might be something to try hint hint lol). So now I have the bootloader unlocked and its running the international rom. Is there anyway to go in through adb or fastboot and permanently network unlock it? Thanks in advance everyone.

Have the same phone with same variant (TMobile) and also need to have my network unlocked. For me I'm in Africa and so without unlocking the phone I would never be able to use it. The phone, which I purchased from Ebay, wasn't eligible for any unlocking from Tmobile. Both Temporal and Permanent Unlocking didn't work for me. I researched right here on XDA and found out that deleting modemst1 and modemst2 files off the EFS partition of the phone would trigger a network unlock - Full and Permanent. Well, I did it and for me that doesn't seem to be the case - phone is still locked. Only thing I noticed is that now there is no screen notification saying that the network is locked... and to use app or settings to unlock.
Ever got your permanently unlocked by some means?

Question How do I unlock bootloader if I buy directly from OnePlus?

I cannot find ANYTHING on Google telling me if I can unlock the bootloader of the Nord N20. And I also cannot find anything that tells me if I have to wait an amount of time or if I need to have a service plan before unlocking bootloader.
Could anyone tell me what pre-requisites I need to fulfil before I can unlock bootloader if its possible if you buy directly from the OnePlus website. I don't feel like buying the phone, waiting for it to arrive, try to unlock bootloader, then; "Surprise!!! You can't do this until you owned the phone for X number of months. r/FYouInParticular"

Start by going to TWRP main official website and see if the device you want to buy is supported first.
TeamWin - TWRP
This is the Team Win website and the official home of TWRP! Here you will find the list of officially supported devices and instructions for installing TWRP on those devices.
twrp.me
If your device is supported, it usually means the bootloader can also be unlocked

If you buy it directly from OnePlus
You do not need to wait for X amount of days.
Just enter the phone, enable developer options, turn on adb debugging, turn on oem unlocking, get adb, type in adb reboot fastboot.
Then type fastboot oem unlock.
Only time you have to wait is if you bought phone carrier phone. Unlocked by factory means no limitations. So from OnePlus means you can do it as soon as you received the phone. If from T-mobile or other carrier, then limited to time of service started. I bought a Nord N200 and it unlocked bootloader as I found how online. BestBuy sells factory unlocked phones. So, right now I own and use this N20, but have not tried unlocking the bootloader but am sure it will if I wanted to. So, it should be same if you bought straight from OnePlus. I just like having security updates. Where you get less updates by rooting, or you have to manually update yourself.
