Hello,
I have my Hero for a month and know that Android 2.0 is coming...
I would like to be advised if it is good to update my Phone which is version :
2.6.27-a5504199
build : 1.76.66.5 146733
Soft : 1.0.0.A6288
Is this one recent version, is this usefull to update to anewer version... What I tried but not working troughout HTC.com
I know I need to root my phone, but what will it bring to my phone as rextra features or speed...
So, please give me your feedback and if it were your phone what will you do... ?

yes I can read, and I've already read the topic at modaco... but nothing clear for me, and is it quicker than my original ? exept the radio update cwich give me better signal, what can I expect ???

it is way faster. and has some tools. and is rooted.
To add to what all above members have contributed , I can say that
Modaco is a master chef and adds all tasty ingridients and spices to our taste.

can someone explain what rooted means in terms of these phones?

you can execute commands as user "root". means you can do everything, including access every part of the filesystem, delete/replace/alter every file. wifi or bluetooth tethering needs it for example. also droidwall, which can control web access for apps.
ok i understand that. so does that mean i could delete things like the stocks n shares app along with peep and other things i dont need or want?
Would this enable me to change the colour of the menu bar at the bottom or even the whole theme itself? if so could someone direct me on what to do?dont want to mess anything up.
but also as buzjay asks is the new update neccesary?
sorry these questions must sound so simple lol just want to make sure before i go delving into the bowls of the phone.

firstly if you want to know what rom is best use the search button in the forum and see other threads with the same question that you have..reason im saying that alot of people ask the same question so you could read what they have posted and what people suggested to them..also read the following link and that would give a good idea about rooting

Welcome to the Galaxy SII community.
Obviously you did a search to find this site. Would it not have been a good idea to use the Search within this site to see if your question had already been answered already? This search would have came up with the same answer to the 'which ROM is the best' - there is no such thing. There are newer versions of the stock (Samasung) ROM you have. There are also customised ROMs available, these are designed to suit the requirements of the person who built them -performance, style, battery life, etc. It is the equivlent of asking, what is the best food - it is all down to personal taste.
My advise is to play around with your phone and get to know it. Have a good read around here so you are more informed. Try out an updated stock rom. Then by all means try out different custom roms to see which one is the best for you (don't forget to really read up before you do anything).
I would say the Dungeon is the best witch room, but only if it has an en-suite caldron.

- I know people have several favourites. I'd still like to research before trying them. Google gives me too much info.
2. How to root and install ROM on both the devices. (detailed guides) Please provide links if you can.
3. I personally love Cyanogenmod but last I checked their website, they had nothing for the phones I'm looking to root. Please help!
One stupid question: Is it in any way possible to install ROM without rooting? I'm desperate because
a. Samsung Star Pro is slower than a lame tortoise.
b. Micromax Unite 2 has a shorter memory than a goldfish.

Well had you followed the rules you would know there is no best rom.
There is no such thing as too much info. What you are doing could very easily leave you bricked with no warranty so it's best to understand what your doing first. Even if it takes days or sometimes weeks of reading before hand.
First things you need to know is if your bootloader is unlocked. If it is not then you won't be able to flash anything.
Also you need to know if kernel source is available for your device. For the micromax most likely not as it is just a rebranded China device and they seldom if ever release Kernel source for their device.
That will get you started. Now take a few days and do some research.

I suppose I am looking for a very stable ROM with theming to black capabilities. Other than that, I am open to anything, but I do need some help from some of you more seasoned or veterans in this smartphone tech game... Please leave me with some comments or suggestions for my first custom ROM to install, maybe some pros and cons or ROM specific issues if any. Thanks so much for all of your help with this question guys.

You can find all the available ROM for this device in the development section. Each one has a short introduction about what the package contains and found bugs. Nobody can really tell which one should be on your phone, It completely depends on your preferences. You need to decide what's more important to you, then make the choice. E.G. If customization is a must have feature, You might wanna go for the CM based ROMs like ResurrectionRemix, Mokee.

I need your help. I am only a simple enduser wich planing to buy the new player from uogoos wich is called: ugoos am6 plus.
The problem is, that i want not work anymore with android boxes without an TRWP or rom-manager.
Bevor i can order the device, i have to know if there is an TRWP for this device and how complicatet the steps are to install it on that device.
It must be possible for me as enduser with my limitet knoweldge.
If i see that there is an TRWP and i am able to install it, then can i finally order the device.
So i hope you can help me out.

I can barley beliefe, that there are so many people here, wich don t want help others with not so much experiences.
Its sad to see that some people still seem to think in clases: "Hey we know more then them. We are better then them, so we don t help".
Becouse i don t like this type of thinking and i don t like people wich think like this, i try now to anser the question by myself, to help outhers wich have the same problem.
I don t want that they get the same expiriences with not helping here like me.

I wrorte directly to ugoos and the friendly and also HELPFULL people there answered me, that one can just install the TRWP from google playstore and it should work.
I don t have verified this answer yet, so please be carefull.
I hope this helps others with the same problem.
A hint for the people here wich maybe have forget these values: The knoweldge of the world belongs to the people.
Knoweldge should be there for all people and it has never lead to something good if people see themself as elite and better then others.
Some people should maybe think about this.

This box wipes the floor with most android TV boxes. For firmware you're best looking up "Sasvlad" he has done some amazing work on this device including fixing magisk root., some USB mods. Firmware improvements.
It works by donation and downloading firmware via telegram. Currently 0.4.1 on ugoos Am6 plus which I have running just now. I started on 0.3.9 an dot just keeps improving.
There is also TWRP but it works only from USB due to encryption.
