I have z2 tablet with that fw from title and for life of me I can't figure out how to flash recovery or root. I found bunch of older or newer topics but all require to either have recovery or are complicated. My tablet does not have it, when I do what is supposed to trigger it it just vibrates and nothing happens. I'd really be greatful if someone could help me out because I literally spent last 5-6 hours trying to figure it out and failing.
I either find flashable prerooted image for different version, or it requires recovery like I said, or for me to flash but I don't know how without recovery etc etc
Since I've had some issues I reflashed stock tft with flashtools and it works now but I'm back to having no recovery and root again lol, before someone helped me through teamviewerbut this time I'd rather learn so I can do it if I fail. Googleing for solution one of the first results was this thread of mine...

Hey all - before I start I do want to say that I've watched the noob video and I have searched endlessly for days...I'm finding bits and pieces of valuable infomation that have prevented me from making some serious mistakes and I'm eternally grateful for that. I'm also seeing great root guides for my P7510 that I will follow once I am certain that I am in a good spot with my device.
That said....
I want to simply root my P7510 (3.1 updated OTA to 3.2 right out of the box, 2.6.36.3, P7510VLKL2) for now...no custom ROMs just yet, but I do want the ability to do it. So, I followed the guides in various places to obtain the Recovery.tar.md5 for CWM 5.5.0.4 (saw it was recommended to use the latest to flash the 4.1 JB ROM..thought what the hell) and flashed it with Odin 1.85.
Rolling recovery screen. I squinted...hard...and was actually able to take a NANDroid backup which I'm planning to move off of the device and onto my PC for safe keeping. After that however, I determined that trying to read the screen and go further would make my brain blow up and I should try to fix the screen issue first.
Rebooted, no problem. I rooked out major after that thinking "oh, well OK CWM doesn't like me so let's flash TWRP and that will make it all better". Yeah right, that made things WAY fun as I spent 2 hours poking at my rolling screen trying to figure out where the buttons actually are to reboot the device without destroying something.
So I've re-flashed CWM 5.5.0.4 because even while it still rolls, I can at least read it - but I'm gunshy to try anything now because I can't read the thing. I've seen threads about trying to unlock the bootloader but other threads say it isn't necessary. I've seen threads about flashing stock ROMs with Odin but have heard absolute horror stories about people flashing what they thought were stock ROMs and making things worse.
I've searched for this answer everywhere and can't get any help...so, powers that be, if I may draw upon your infinite wisdom, please enlighten me...is it feasible to root my HC3.2 P7510 (purchased in Canada) using the root package that you can find anywhere on an OLDER version of CWM? Will ALL versions of CWM roll my screen like this or just 5.5.0.4? Do I even need 5.5.0.4 if I'm not trying to flash the alpha 4.1 ROM?
Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide in consolidating all the great related info in this forum into one place...

EDIT: Updated bad URL there.
Hello guys, I'm knee deep in ****.
I recently got tired with my E10i, so I decided that it needed a better ROM and kernel. So I went ahead and rooted it and unlocked the bootloader, atleast I thought that, and installed Clockworkmods recovery since I'm familiar with how it works from my Nexus 7 which I have flashed countless times.
Since I've done this before I didn't think that anything would go wrong. That was until I found it a bit weird that I got error 7 on everything I tried to flash. So I fooled around with the recovery thinking that it was just a simple fix I needed to execute.
I then found out that I wasn't able to boot into the official firmware which makes me unable to unlock the bootloader, I think.
Flashtool isn't able to flash anything either and reports that my bootloader is indeed locked.
Please give me some suggestions or solutions to how I can make my E10i flashable again.
Thanks in advance guys!
Hey guys... So I'm REALLY new at this whole rooting thing, so please forgive me if I am not aware of any terms related to rooting and such.
So basically what happened was this:
I decided to root my Galaxy S4 (sgh-i337 --- AT&T) using the towelroot method. I had to use this method because my phone is currently running Android 4.4.4 KitKat (TouchWiz) and it worked fine. SuperSU was installed, Root Checker said my phone was rooted, it was good. I tried to install CWM using Odin, and I got the "RESET" or "PASS" from Odin, which I thought that it meant that it worked. However, when I tried to go into Recovery Mode, it went into Stock Recovery Mode. I started to look at other tutorials, and I came across another one that involved flashing your phone's respective CWM .img file from your phone itself (transfer the .img to your phone's SD, and then flash it from your phone using the app, Flashify). But when I tried to go into Recovery mode to see if it worked, it gave me the yellow triangle with an error message, "System software is unauthorized by AT&T" or something like that. I tried to look at other posts, and there was a general idea that I needed to flash the stock Kernel. Now, the way I rooted the phone in the first place, I already had two different ones downloaded. One was flashed, towelroot was used, and then the second kernel (which was the one that originally on my phone before rooting) was flashed. After that, it was rooted. So me, being the complete noob I am at rooting, decided to re-flash both, in order, to see if that cleared up the error message when trying to get into Recovery Mode. This did not solve the problem either.
Again, I would like to apologize for my lack of knowledge on rooting and such, so please forgive me for my incompetence. And yes, I know that there are other threads on topics like this, but I have tried several things and it has not worked. Any help on how to fix this problem (and how to install CWM properly on my phone - since it is updated to 4.4.4 TouchWiz - or if I should use TWRP instead, because I intend on downloading the Kangapop GPE ROM(and how to install that for my specific model/software version)) is greatly appreciated, thanks!
I'm using a Sony Xperia Z2 tablet - SGP511 (castor_windy). It's been rooted before, bootloader unlocked and had a couple of custom ROMs at various times. I've had issues because apps like root checker say it's not rooted properly and I am not getting the full benefit of a rooted tablet.
I have recently reset it to factory and the original OS seems to have come back. I'm now trying to start again with a new ROM but can't get into recovery mode.
I've flashed TWRP recovery BUT - I can't get into recovery mode to ensure root has happened properly. I've tried getting to recovery via adb and via the hard buttons on the tablet, but the tablet either resets and loads up again or I get a triple vibrate and the LED flashes different colours.
So - i'd love to know any thoughts anyone might have? I think there's something glitchy way down underneath what I can see. I'm not amazing at this stuff - really just read a lot of forums.
I'm hoping to have TWRP working and then to root using SuperSU to ensure that the tablet is rooted properly, THEN to flash Paranoid Android.
I really really hope someone can give me a hand!
So I have spent literally days, in an ultimate attempt to upgrade to a ROM of Android 8.1
I have never attempted anything like this and it seemed to be straight forward enough to try myself. I quickly realised that I needed to install TWRP on my tablet. Then upon hours more research I learned that to do this, the tablet must be rooted. But it cannot be rooted if it is running Android 6.1.0, which it currently is. So I need to downgrade it to it's original firmware, something like Android 4.4.1. But then one of the steps of doing this is that it also needs to be rooted. To root the device I must enter recovery mode. I have tried the physical button pushing method so MANY times, I have sore hands now. It didn't even work once. How else can this be achieved on my device? What other methods can I use? I have heard of something called ADB.... or something like that. As a complete beginner I am unfamiliar with how to use this. Could someone please help me?
I don't know if this information is also handy, but the bootloader IS unlocked. I was able to do that about 6 months ago, when a friend of mine attempted unsuccesfully to put a custom ROM on it.
First time sorry for my poor English...
What ROMs do you use now and what do you want?
I've been dying for two days, but I've been updated (Stock 4.4.4 to Custom 8.1)! I also use SGP-521.
It was a nightmare, but it did. If I can, I will help you!
