How tout use snapchat with port rom - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 General

I have created this thread to explain how to use snapchat on a custom rom or port rom so sorry for my English because I'm French and maybe to have post it on the bad section. Anyway
1*) go on super su and un install the root
2*) if you use xposed go on and disable it
3*) reboot (it can take some minute)
4*) go on snapchat and connect you
5*) if you want to be root again use the root file of the rom or flash again the rom on the recovery and choose root on the aroma.
6*) (enable xposed and reboot)
You will not loose your files it works on all phone and rom and snapchat will be able to worck
You can repeat this each time that you are disconnected of your snapchat account.

ORR just use Magisk and enable the hide mode

[Q] Urgent. Phone keeps booting in recovery

Hello everyone,
Today i tried JKAY framework, installing went fine.
But when I rebooted my phone it goes straight to recovery.. I tried flashing my rom again (wanamlite) but still goes straight to recovery.
Another thing is that if my phone is off and I plug in the USB it turns on by itself.
I can't restore a backup I made because of a md5 mismatch so I'm at a lose here.
Any idea what has happened and if I permanently destroyed my phone?

Try an ADB shell while in recovery and generate a md5 sum through ADB SHELL md5sum and wait for it to finish.
Then restore your NANDROID backup...

Or try to flash a stock rom with ODIN or emergency firmware upgrade in KIES.
The second one will install your carrier's latest firmware based on your phone's serial number

I assume you mean adb shell via windows.
C:\ADB>adb shell md5sum
If so, it's taking quite some time.
Already tried with kies but it doesn't connect properly . I can only see whats on my external sdcard.

Mmmhhh... Maybe you should flash a stock rom, root it and modify it's recovery, boot, and do the ADB trick from a command prompt or from a terminal emulator from the phone itself.
And it takes it's time to generate the md5 sum. Just don't desesperate and have faith

The md5checksum trick didn't work. I still get a md5 mismatch.
Downloading a stock firmware to flash via odin.
And what exactly do you mean by modifying the boot and recovery?

I meant installing cd-root for your kernel and hijack the recovery
Enviado desde mi GT-I9300 usando Tapatalk 2
Ah yes, ok. I get flashing cf-root, but hijacking the recovery I'm unfamiliar with.
I hope I'm not being a complete noob by asking you this.
You are not. Only don't have this particular knowledge....
Fortunately you came to the right place.
Search for CWM recovery, download it once rooted, and follow instructions to get it to work...
Hijacking means substituting stock CWM with a much more advanced one
Enviado desde mi GT-I9300 usando Tapatalk 2
Ah, Philz for example?
I just finished flashing a stock rom and it works just like it got out of the factory
That was the idea...
Enviado desde mi GT-I9300 usando Tapatalk 2
Oh I understand hijacking recovery now hehe. So something like Philz recovery?
Yes, Philz recovery gives you many more options and tools when things go wrong.

Alcatel pop 4 cmw or twrp recovery img

Hi friends
Any have CWM or TWRP for Alcatel pop4?
Recovery Alcatel pop 4
I am also waiting for this topic . Please help.
Twrp for Alcatel Pop 4
I managed to port twrp 3.0.2 from the Huawei y560 to the Alcatel Pop 4 by watching a youtube video (Sorry I cannot link it I only just joined XDA but google is your friend), using kingroot to gain temp root access, using dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery of=/storage/xxxx-xxxx/recovery.img to dump my recovery to my sd card, then when I finished porting after watching the video and following the instructions, I flashed the ported twrp image it using Kernel Auditor from Google Play from my internal emulated/0 directory while having temp root access and it worked for me.
If you manage to find the video on how to port twrp and attempt it just be wary of bugs and always make a backup.

I could not get my pop +4 rooted with kingo root or any of the other one click roots out there could anyone help me
Hi everyone, Kingroot has worked well for me every time I've needed it. But I absolutely do not like having it installed. No confidence inspires me. To start during the root process is already done system app without getting root or so says, whatever you do behind only Kingroot knows. And always, always, is always restarting the phone. But it is the only "One click root" that works for me.
I recommend;
- have prepared "Flashify" or similar, and the zip that comment at the beginning of the post.
- Insist on Kingroot until you get root, and wait a few minutes.
- Open Flashify grant permissions and install the recovery image.
- When finished, from the same app reboot in recovery and verify that it installed TWRP 3.0.2.0.
- Restart system, return to Kingroot and again get root.
- Once achieved, without leaving the app go to options and uninstall Kingroot.
- And now if, finally restart in recovery and install SuperSU.zip.
Then download it if you wish;
- xposed-v87-sdk23-arm
- XposedInstaller_3.1.1
- xposed-uninstaller-20160829-arm

Greetings and luck.
To permanently root the Alcatel Pop 4 with either SuperSU or Magisk you will need to get access to temporary root with KingRoot so you can flash TWRP and install one of the root managers I just mentioned. I recommend flashing with Flashify. That's what I used. I haven't tested it with Magisk so i'd use SuperSU if I were you.
Download TWRP and SuperSU or Magisk on your phone first then flash TWRP with Flashify then reset your device with TWRP and install one of those root managers and your all finish rooting. KingRoot is very unstable with the Pop 4 so if it reboots and you lose temp root before you get a chance to flash, just reroot the device with KingRoot then flash.

[TWRP Recovery] TWRP Recovery for Elephone S8

Thanks to @ScrewTSW he found at http://www.htcmania.com a working TWRP Recovery from totmakina
found : http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?p=27398885
to reboot into recovery most elephones works with hold vol+ and power at the same time.
this method dont work for the S8 and i did not found a working method yet.
but its not a problem if you follow this:
for people with stock rom /unrooted
1. download all files and place them on your desktop
2. flash my modified boot.img (magisk root) with flashtools
3. flash TWRP recovery with flashtools
4. reboot the Phone and install magisk manager app (link https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/topjohnwu/magisk-manager/)
5. start magisk manager , it will tell you that your phone has root
6. go to playstore and download the app called reboot recovery ( its a very small app)
7. reboot to recovery.
8. done
9. Now you have twrp and you are able to flash zips or custom roms

You only need the boot.img if you are not rooted. Because if you flash twrp s8 how would you boot into it?
Hardkeys don't work. So you need to be rooted and download an advanced power menu from playstore like "reboot recovery" to boot into it

Actually, i've found a homemade TWRP which is most of the function work fine and can be used to flash by adb. But unfortunately it seems not be maintain any longer, i want to share it to you and hope it can help you to fix you bugs and be strong enough and stable enough, keep going dude. Here is the link:https://mega.nz/file/njxCXSqA#R37PC2vpICMMsm4kqyu_V1PHGH4BRmTeMCgUZtgALZc

I've translated it to polish and made a topic at miuipolska.pl ( xiaomi.eu for our country). Nice to see you here too

I've flashed the TWRP, did a format, reboot recovery, and it asked for password for decrypt data.
I've never set any password before, any idea why ?
Update, also did the following from scratch :
- Flash back to original China ROM via Miflash (fastboot). Booted back to MIUI.
- Reboot to fastboot
- Flash the TWRP 3.4.0-12 as above, and went into recovery
- Format Data
- Reboot Recovery
- Again, it's asking for decrypt data password.
Mine is a K30 Pro, if it matters.
i just installed it and it seems working good at least everything that i use thanks for the work
Thank you for sharing twrp with us, can I flash above the old one or I need to flash new rom for that

Have u tried flashing a ROM with this recovery ?
Then going back to the recovery, can it decrypt the data properly ? Assuming u didn't set any pass lock in ur MIUI.

Thanks for confirming the same issue.
I would have thought I've missed some steps.
But just by formatting data, without doing anything else and rebooting back to recovery it's already asking for decrypt password, which none were set in the first place.

No password has been set whatsoever.
Even if it has been, formatting would have cleared it anyway.
If u read what I've shared, I had also miflash back to original state n start all over, still the same.
If you may, probably u can try flashing back the same ROM on top of what u have, go back to TWRP n see if u have any issue.

Didn't even got the chance to flash any ROM.
Format data, did a recovery reboot, will end up with this issue. Since can't decrypt data, so no ROM can be copied in to flash

After miflash, booted into MIUI successfully.
Rebooted into fastboot to install Twrp per instruction.
