I'm trying to retrieve a couple .db files from an old phone of mine. I tried many root methods, both .apk roots and PC versions. It seems many others owners have also come to the conclusion that the phone is unrootable (but if anyone knows how, let me know). What other ways are there to get at those files? I know the specific filepaths of the .db files that I'm trying to retrieve. Assuming that I don't care about the condition of the phone afterwards, is there no way, including removing the hard drive, to get at the files?
For reference, the phone is a vivo X6D and the files I'm trying to get are from WeChat. My old WeChat account was created before they required a phone number, so I can't recover the account itself to get my messages, so I'd like to get at the EnMicroMsg.db file. Thanks for any help you guys are able to offer, it's much appreciated.

Hello,
I'm looking for anyone with a rooted phone supported by Stick-N-Find who has one or more of the stickers. If you could, send me the Devices.xml file from /data/data/com.ssia.sticknfind/shared_prefs
I'm trying to get the app to work on a non-supported device, and I'm hoping I might be able to add the tags in manually, but I need the format.
Hi, im new here, sort pf starting out with the small amount of knowledge that i have.
So ive rooted said phone without gaining the bootloader unluck code from
Huawei themselves, that said, the root was successfull.
I heard of a trick to edit the local.prop file to gain higher data speed etc.by editing hsdpa, hsupa etc, i used it on my old phone
And it worked great, the trouble im having this time is that i cant find the local.prop file.
So i set some permissions and created one, to no avail, the file created but was empty.
Any help to find the file would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Tried xTract butcouldn't open my files
Tried a bunch of websites...
I got one msgstore.db.crypt file
7 msgstore.db.crypt7 files with dates (the last 7 backups I guess)
1 msgstore.db.crypt7 file
1 msgstore.db.crypt5 file
Who can help me out ?
Sorry to hear about your wife passing. I can't even imagine...
I'm not really familiar with Whatsapp but thought I'd give a crack at getting to help nevertheless. So, to get your key, you have to be rooted. But it seems like this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2689911
might have a lot of useful info on how to decrypt them and I'm sure someone there knows how to get the key too.
Thnx, I tried the web-version from WhatsCrypt but liked said I am unable to get a keyfile.... it's not in the folders, tried the App version now too... it decrypts a DB but also unable to get a Keyfile (file isnt there)
I will not give up tho
*edit* Saw you are running a rom, so am assuming you are rooted. Duh...
But I see you posted over on that thread. They would obviously know more about it than I would. I wish you well!
I dunno if this might help at all:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tricrypt
And I guess you should be able to find your key in the /data/data folder for Whatsapp.
I've tried all those tools but did not got any msg back, there is no keyfile located in that folder I've checked like a thousands of times.
Well, guess I need to write support
Hey all...
This is my first post on this forum and I hope that this is the right place for my question.
I lost my phone, but I was able to find some data that I have copied to the PC not so long time ago. The thing is that I had some important dates and conversations on whatsapp and all what is left on my PC are db.crypt7 files which I can't open. I red a few guides about it, but some kind of key and software is required in order to open those files and I am 100% noob regarding things like that. So my question: Is there any chance to decrypt those files I have from the whatsapp folder of my lost Samsung Galaxy S2, or all hopes are lost? Phone was not rooted and all I can find are those few db.crypt7 files.
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
Maybe the title is not really accurate but I didn't know how to formulate my question.
I'm actually living in Japan and I bought a new phone (OnePlus One). Because I don't need my phone number, I froze my phone contract with my provider (Swisscom). So my phone number is not active anymore.
But What's app is still working on my old phone. But I can't install it on the new one because of the verification. I tried some of the "hacks" you can find online about spoofing my sms but it's not working because my phone number is not active anymore.
Do you have any solution that can help me install whats'app on my new phone?
I was wondering if it was possible to copy all the files from my previous phone on the new one (whats'app file of course) maybe there is a validation files somewhere which can be transfered. I don't know I'm out of ideas.
