I think you already have noticed that the Xiaomi adapter doesn't work with this device, but I found one which works perfectly since it has dac
You (or whoever is looking for one) can find it on Aliexpress by "Vention USB Type C to 3.5mm" (not the cheapest one but the one which cost around 5$)

Can you say something about the sound quality as well as the general build quality? Everything fine or does it feel like the cable is gonna cut off or so? Maybe you can post already a picture of it?

Sure, I will share some pics when I reach the minimium posts required, right now I am not allowed (sucks being noob )
Regardind quality, sound its great for me and the build quality it is as well. The connectors are pretty solid and the wire is thick. Its a little bit longer than the regular ones.
I think its worthy for the price considering that the original from HTC costs 33€ (with shipment included). I've another on the way

The Xiaomi doesn't work by itself, It needs an app called SoundAbout, but even with that app it doesnt work properly, for me at least. I just included it on the photo as a reference [emoji846]

I don't see the DAC anywhere on the description and if it hasn't that you should keep looking, it won't work with the ultra

It would appear to be the one you've mentioned. In hte photo, you can see at the top right, that the area where the door is for the USB/SD slot is more form fitting than the rest of theat side. It's hte same case I have and I like it alot.
One issue I've seen with it is that the front border isn't as fitting as I'd like it to be, it tends to sit more away from the tablet in the middle areas, so, the hole for the camera, although perfectly positioned, tends to sit away from the camera, making it show a black obstruction in the camera image...not that the camera is anything to write home about, of course.

The actual version two or M2 is going to be much better then what is pictured here. I have also "heard" that they will be coming in different colors too!
So, basically I would wait until Steve gets the version two of this case!

There was a deal on this the other day for like $6 shipped. I bought one but never used it yet. Device feels VERY cheaply constructed. I wouldn't spend much more on it considering it felt like it would break in half after several uses.

I'm in the no catagory. I'm impressed with what it can do but I'm much less impressed with the things that it cannot do. I'll wait for a software revision or an awesome custom mod before I pick one up. I just don't see how they create this device but not merge it's new selling points with Google TV.

Sorry. I don't think your friend will find it at a physical store just yet. The only people who have a Q are those who attended Google IO, or those who have bought them from the attendees.
Your friend might try the local Craigslist or Ebay.
Ordered my Q off eBay cant wait for it to get here. All the reviews online are scoring it low because of what it currently offers but its capabilities are endless. The old apple TV is going for $300+ just because it can be hacked and this is $300 and its made to be hacked....Just my $.02

The Verge completely discounted the development potential and disregarded the fact that this is more of a dev toy than anything else. I think that once it's been opened up and the oh-so-wonderful things people will be able to do with it they will be sorry they didn't pick one up. Hell, I got one coming from ebay for $200. I think the manufacturing that went into this is well worth it.
Really, how long will it really be before someone has netflix/hulu running on this thing?? A couple months max maybe? Blue tooth game pad? Play games through Onlive with this thing?

I work at best buy and I got the radio and adapter there. The kit model number is CD-AH200C. I will be installing it this weekend and I'll let you know how it works

I just did it last night
Mirror link is obviously a no go, but the mhl works fine on any sense 4 rom... All you need is the pioneer appradio app and the mhl adapter kit
Just let me know if you have any questions about anything else man

That looks great man. Bummed that it doesn't work with sense 5. I wonder if it works with stock 4.1. I would assume so

It doesnt work on sense 5 because its just broken in the port... when we get it officially it will work

Keep me posted. I'm gonna miss having sense 5, but I'm definitely getting this head unit. What rom are you currently running?

So I haven't ever posted on here. I read up on stuff here all the time looking to solve problems about my phones and always come across the solutions.
So I have the Droid DNA and have been looking to get AppRadio 3. My only concern is that it won't mirror correctly or that I won't be able to use it with the setup. My phone is NOT rooted. I have sense 5 (verizon issued). Was wondering if you guys ever got the official release and were able to continue using appradio with the DNA?

I've been playing with HTC MirrorLink in my 2015 Honda Civic Si. I got it to talk with the DNA via the new M9 ROMs. The little side menu arrows appear on the head unit and clicking into it starts the connection process, then an "Unfortunately HTC MirrorLink has closed" or similar error appears on the phone and the car gives up, indicating the device is not supported. Not sure if its worth chasing after - the DNA hardware may not support this, but to get so close and give up...
I'm no whiz at this, just a tinkerer. Anyone have the brainpower to get the HTC MirrorLink app/service stable?

what i can do please help

I love this tablet and i hope we fix this problem
What I have read on android-hilfe.de it is a hardware problem and does not happen on all devices.
Consensus was to swap the device.
There you will even find a recording that exemplifies the problem. Not nice ...

I can not answer that.
Some people had problems with SONY service. Others got a replacement with the same fault. The happier ones seemed to opt for a refund.
BTW What ROM version do you have?
Latest available today is 28.0.A.7.24
It might be worth a try (see anfalanl's post above) to flash the latest version.

Oh sorry i bought my z4 in czc.cz (czech company) and i got too old 28.0.A.6.2
But tablet say its actual
PCC say its actual
Better is to repair

My Z4 has exactly the same problem,
I was so disappointed by the quality ... (compare to my Z2, where the sound was good) .... I just thought the loudspeakers were bad ....
It is indeed an horrible white noise ... It is even louder than the music or the video, when the sound is really low...

Contact CZC.cz when you have the Device buying form it.
Downgrade Firmware not needet. The Problem not the Firmware. The Device is defective.
Some Sony Z4 Tab have this Bug.
The Dealer have 30 Days to Repair OR exchange the Device.
If not (Time longer) you can cancel the Buying and Dealer must give Money Back.
See czech warranty Law.

I have such a tablet (SGP712 Wifi). I am on a newer firmware 28.0.A.7.24 (OK right now on AOSP) and I bet the OP is on 28.0.A.6.2
I suggested he should do an upgrade of the firmware but I am not his video guy ...
The "solution" he found maybe not the best but at least he lost no money.
IMHO the tablet DOES HAVE a high noise floor (inherent in design?).
Coupled with that, some tablets seem to have additional "crackling" when playing sound (mine does not).
